To think that somebody must know the sick evil **** who has been killing people's cats

So some sick twisted evil * * has been taking people's cats and killing them and returning their bodies with parts missing. I won't rant on about it as it is just awful but surely someone must have noticed a family member or neighbour acting oddly or seen some evidence of what the sick b..... has been doing. I just don't understand how this can have been happening for so long. Sad

Oh how awful, this made me so angry.

Actually scary too because of the implications this sort of torture has on the psych of the person doing it - very disturbed individual and this sounds weird but I hope it's merely someone who dislikes cats rather than a person who gets a thrill from it and may escalate.

I think it's good how in america the FBI apparently keep an eye on people who hurt animals like this, because its a sign of abuse against humans later on. Not sure how they do that but I remember reading about it.

Mittens1969 · 31/08/2017 15:21

That's right, quite a few of the most notorious serial killers, for example Ian Brady, started off by torturing animals.

I hope that when he is caught they throw the book at him, too many people who are convicted get ridiculous sentences like 6 weeks in jail and then are banned from having pets for life. These psychos are not hurting their own pets, so what good is that???

MatildaTheCat · 31/08/2017 15:21

It's grim but I'm not sure anyone else would know. May well be a loner who has a grudge against cats. If it's the same case as the one I know of the cats have been killed over quite a wide geographical patch so not easy to investigate and also at very irregular intervals.

Let's hope misfortune befalls him whist he's out on his mission.

SumThucker · 31/08/2017 15:23

I don't like cats but I wish for something terrible to happen to the cruel bastard doing that Angry

Eggsellent · 31/08/2017 15:26

I'm shocked that the police are not too interested and it's being investigated by volunteers! There have been a few cases locally to me but there are similar attacks all over the country.

Tatteredlace · 31/08/2017 15:32

I had a dream about the Croydon Cat Killer not too long ago. I found body parts of a cat (in the dream) and someone had dyed them blue. I went on my own investigation. It only gets weirder from there.

I dont think its just one person, but I did read that there has been a sighting of someone tempting cats with toys at night.

Eggsellent · 31/08/2017 15:52

Tatteredlace apparently there are hallmarks that have not been revealed to the public, the killer always removes body parts but there is something else they do that only they and operation snarl know about and this is how they identify the killings as being done by the same person. It must be someone who travels for a living surely as there have been confirmed reports all over the country.

PinkSnowAndStars · 31/08/2017 15:53

I'm in Aylesbury and there has been a couple here. Are there more in other areas?

eurochick · 31/08/2017 15:58

Most have been within a few miles of Croydon but they are fairly widespread now. There was a possible siting of the guy last week in Caterham.

PinkSnowAndStars · 31/08/2017 16:01

What a sickening individual.

BoneyBackJefferson · 31/08/2017 16:03

The problem is that people don't notice because those that are doing this are very good at hiding it.

Pigface1 · 31/08/2017 16:15

Absolutely revolting. Also, as PP have pointed out, there's a good chance that the person doing this is a highly dangerous individual (to humans).

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 31/08/2017 16:20

Sick evil twisted fuckers. How the fuck could anyone possibly possibly hurt such Innocent creatures.
I'd throw the key in ocean. If they'll do that to a cat. They'll do in to a person sooner or later.

Eggsellent · 31/08/2017 16:22

CornflakeHomunculus · 31/08/2017 16:23

I'm shocked that the police are not too interested and it's being investigated by volunteers!

The Met have set up Operation Takahe to try and catch whoever is doing it, with the help of people from SNARL. Unfortunately not all police forces have been as helpful (the perpetrator has been active across a very wide area) but most are taking it very seriously.

Racingraccoons · 31/08/2017 16:28

I live literally the next street along from the ones that happened Northamptonshire. It was really terrifying (I have no cats myself) but the poor things were so defenceless and the manner of multilation was very disturbing (clearly a very sick individual).
I do remember hearing the girl's screams though..... awful Sad

Racingraccoons · 31/08/2017 16:31

This was the awful awful one near me

SongforSal · 31/08/2017 16:40

For the Northants one, my 10 pence worth is the local council should look at related complaints from a male individual between the ages of 50-70 related to dog fouling on private property, and noise complaints etc....Cats are the easier target for rage, and an outlet of anger as his complaints haven't been taken seriously. It's unlikely a teenager, as the bodies of the cats would have been hidden. The fact he is bold enough to leave them on the owners doorsteps means he knows the owners, and possibly lives in close enough proximity to go on foot.

Scribblegirl · 31/08/2017 16:42

I'm in South Norwood (near Croydon) and I hate letting our boys out at the moment. SNARL, our local group, have been doing some fantastic work though keeping it in the press.

I just cannot understand how or why a person would do this. It's horrific. Sad

lovethebeach · 31/08/2017 17:30

I hadn't realised it was such a big area I actually thought they were mainly round the Croydon area. I did read in the paper that someone heard someone acting suspiciously in the evening in the same place as the last one was taken. It's just completely sick and the person doing it is warped. They have issued a description of the man who ran off but it's quite vague. Snarl are trying really hard I know and offering a £10k reward. It just makes me feel sick that someone could be capable of doing this.

Toomanycats99 · 31/08/2017 17:39

@SongforSal

It is very unlikely he knows the people.there are currently over 200 attached spread mainly across the southeast.

The assumption seems to be from many people that it is possible someone who drives for a living as there is such a wide area of attacks. The ones further afield from the southeast corner are often clustered over a couple of days indicating he is visiting an area.

The fact they have publicised a description I think is great news as hopefully it means they are close to catching him. The police have been involved but as someone who has been helping out with leafleting targeted areas the effort and time put in by SNARL is unbelievable. I really hope it ends soon and he gets locked up for a very very long time.

Gileswithachainsaw · 31/08/2017 17:43

We have lots of cats around here and are in an area where it's happening. My friends have cats and I worry for them.

Sick sick people/person

Poor kitties :(

Doodlebug5 · 31/08/2017 17:43

@racingraccoons

We must live very close as I live in Kingsley

It's terrible that this is happening

Caprianna · 31/08/2017 17:46

Its awfulSad
Does he mainly kill at night? My cats are so trusting and love people who show them attention so would probably go up to the killer to say hello. We live in central London and I have not seen that he has killed around here so I have let mine out at night but I do worry.

Room101isWhereIUsedToLive · 31/08/2017 17:47

I had a flyer through my door about this yesterday. I was already aware of the killings because they have been mentioned on mumsnet before.
Hope they catch the sick fucker and soon!
