A friend posted on facebook the other day about having a work man other who pooed in her loo without asking. The comments were all saying how rude and disgusting it was. Some even saying to report him or that they would have kicked him out. Anyway I mentioned it to a friend who didn't see the problem. But I do think that it's rude aswell so aibu or is it rude not to ask?!

Sometimes when you gotta go, you gotta GO!
Maybe he didn't have time to ask? Workmen are part of the human race.
When they put in our driveway, we found an (obviously human) pile under my only forsythia bush around the corner from the house windows.Angry where does that fall in the workman/Poo category?
Would I have wanted that sort in my powder room? We were glad when it thunderstormed and washed it away.

BuildERm0m · 25/08/2017 19:22

You have to provide toilet facilities!

Mumandteacher123 · 25/08/2017 19:27

I don't see how it's rude. Where else is he meant to go? As long as he cleaned up after himself and he left the loo as he found it, I really don't see the issue

thenettyprofessor · 25/08/2017 19:56

better in the loo than on the floor Grin

missiondecision · 25/08/2017 20:08

I honestly know someone who thinks it's rude for anyone to shit in a toilet in someone else's house. (she lives alone).
It's not the shitting that's rude, you must open the window and always clean after you.

manicmij · 25/08/2017 20:08

Not rude at all. Though by someone knowing what had occurred in the toilet perhaps it wasn't left quite how it should have been. If that was the case then Not On. Otherwise what was the worker supposed to do, stop working drive to nearest public toilet or supermarket with facilities then come back to work.

Mittens1969 · 25/08/2017 20:15

@mumof3boys33, yes my DH is like that, he also says that he can't wait lol. The number of times I've been on my way home from the school run needing to poo!! Oh well, this is a very weird thread! But where is the OP???

SunshineLollipopsRainbows25 · 25/08/2017 20:16

if a workman said can I poo in your toilet i would be like ermmm ok... I'd rather them just do it without asking, if you've got to go you've got to go, I'd rather them be comfortable doing work in my house than try and be quick thinking about how much they need a poo.

mum2benicole · 25/08/2017 20:17

I wouldn't want to ask if I can shit in someone's toilet it would be embarrassing.... And then if he did would she have said no ? What do you do then keep it in and get a sore stomach or leavening the middle of a job and get in bother poo is poo everyone dose it I personally wouldn't mind it at all 💩💩💩💩

questsabelletreetop · 25/08/2017 20:28

Oh God. This thread is reminiscent of the book/ film 'The Help' GET A GRIP!

BeansandSausages · 25/08/2017 20:59

It's a poo! A normal, human function that everyone does most days. And, as someone said, you have to provide toilet facilities. If he shits up the wall, then we're talking problems.

Tweez · 25/08/2017 21:13

Sorry Op, I think it might be you that has a bit of a problem. I am sorry, but what you ( and your friend) think and feel about a normal bodily function Isn't normal ( in my opinion). Poor chap.

Purplealienpuke · 25/08/2017 21:19

Ffs it's a bodily function that people have to do. Yes asking to use the loo is good manners and leaving it as you find it should go without saying!
I'm wondering if she's the same mad cow who (A few years ago) rang the office I worked in to complain about just such a scenario! She wanted me to 'tell the engineer off' as he'd left an awful smell in her 'smallest room'!! Ridiculous woman. I had to put her on hold while I pissed myself laughing 😂

Can't be bothered to read the whole thread. Your friend took to Facebook to announce to the world that some poor workman took a dump at her house and it stank? Classy! Moving swiftly on. Confused

Carriecakes80 · 25/08/2017 23:52

A couple of weeks ago we had workmen round, sorting our kitchen, and one of them disappeared and used the loo...he was in there for ages, and when he came out the smell nearly killed me...but did I mind, no. Its a bloody toilet!!
I completely agree with another poster, that the day you become fussy over who uses your crapper, you lead a very sad life indeed! We all have a bum, we all poo, get over it! lol.

user1499421397 · 26/08/2017 02:17

Would anyone say no to someone who asked to use the toilet? And in what context did this happen? If the man was in the kitchen with the woman and just wandered off upstairs to find the loo then yes, that's rude, but if he was up there anyway, or near one, so just went in then what's the problem? Did he need permission? Whether he does a 1 or 2 on the toilet is beside the point, unless he needed permission for that too. It's a toilet, we're human. Is it possible your friend's shit don't stink? 😂

Lillithxxx · 26/08/2017 03:39

Where are you OP?
Aah, gone for a tom tit have you...

AABBCC17 · 26/08/2017 06:29

What a pathetic question. You and your friends need to get a life. You sound so arrogant. I suspect the real issue is you think you are way above this workman and how dare he even use your toilet with or without permission. I would not expect anyone in my home to have to ask to use the toilet, how ridiculous.

Mittens1969 · 26/08/2017 08:30

I think the OP has gone off in a huff because none of her FB friends are on here to agree with her, or speak about beating up the workman.

KAT0779 · 26/08/2017 09:04

If he had left a mess in the toilet I could understand people saying its disgusting, but it annoys me that people think that the act of having a poo is disgusting. Its a natural bodily function that everyone does, and its not good for you to hold it in when you have got to go.

Whinesalot · 26/08/2017 09:37

Ah yes, despite handing out grips earlier, I have to agree it would be rude to just go upstairs without asking to use the loo.

hmbn · 26/08/2017 10:40

Surely this is school playground stuff? Your friend needs to grow up and get a life.

Madsy1990 · 26/08/2017 10:48

Maybe not ask to use the loo, that still seems absurd to me, perhaps just say "where is the loo?" People always ask me if they can use my loo and it annoys me, what do you think I'm gonna say no? I do quite often actually, just because it's such a bloody silly question. Just ask me where the bog is and be done with it.

MerchantofVenice · 26/08/2017 11:25

IDoDaChaCha

Now, I would have been horrified by the coathanger thing... not that I'd have blamed the man for doing a big poo and inadvertently blocking the loo... but I'd be very anxious about what he was going to do with the shit-covered coathanger he was left holding. Makes me feel ill.
