To not wash in the morning?

I start very early - usually before 7 - and often don't get back till about half nine so I shower then. Then in the morning I just put my uniform on and go. AIBU?

why do we as women NEED to shower daily? Do men not? Why?

demirose87 · 23/08/2017 20:33

We all need to keep ourselves clean, men and women. It's basic hygiene to wash regularly.

LoyaltyAndLobster · 23/08/2017 20:52

@itsbetterthanabox I did not say as women we need to shower daily.

As women we need to keep ourselves cleaner as our bodies experience things that the male body doesn't.

Men can get away with being dirty/smelly more that women can, it's always "a guy at work that smells"

Still not getting it. Do you mean when on your period?
What other things do our bodies need washing more for?
People don't like smelly people whether they are women or men so I don't follow there.

annielouise · 23/08/2017 20:57

What do women experience that means we have to keep ourselves cleaner than men? Periods? Only for a certain time each month.

And why can men get away with being dirty/smelly more than women even though you then say they get called the smelly man at work? How is that ok?

LoyaltyAndLobster · 23/08/2017 21:02

@annielouise sorry if I confused you, it is always the guy at work or the public transport that smells, it's not ok but it would be worst being the women at work or on public transport that smells, we are expected to be cleaner than men.

This is just my view of things, if you don't agree with me that's fine.

Some people don't have showers in their houses. Are they meant to run a bath every morning before work?

It seems is to be a relatively new thing that people must shower every morning before work.

I can't imagine that being the norm 30+ years ago

LoyaltyAndLobster · 23/08/2017 21:20

@Tiba it never crossed my mind that some people don't have showers in their houses 😳😳

Uokbing · 23/08/2017 21:26

people who do not wash/shower in the morning are disgusting

No they are not. Get a grip.

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 23/08/2017 21:29

DH does this. He leaves the house at 6.30, he has a 2 hour journey.

LoyaltyAndLobster · 23/08/2017 21:30

@Uokbing ok then...

BillBrysonsBeard · 23/08/2017 21:57

I have never showered in the morning! I love showering before bed and washing my hair, then waking up with it dry and ready to style. I don't sweat at night... If I was a sweater I would start doing it!

Maybe the morning showerers are going on about night sweat because they feel sweaty after sleep.. but maybe that's because they are still dirty from the previous day? Getting clean at night stops me sweating. I have never said the word sweat so much..

BusterGonad · 23/08/2017 23:35

I think the women with smelly fanjo's one day after not washing need to visit the doctors! Is really rather strange!

balsamicbarbara · 23/08/2017 23:48

Almost no-one showered every morning before the 90s and somehow we all survived just fine. Even with one bath a week at one point.
