To not wash in the morning?

I start very early - usually before 7 - and often don't get back till about half nine so I shower then. Then in the morning I just put my uniform on and go. AIBU?

No excuse for not washing or showering. I find it gross

ArgyMargy · 20/08/2017 06:21

I might find you gross in other ways, Sakiriz. Each to their own.

ArgyMargy · 20/08/2017 06:21

Sorry, Sarikiz.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 20/08/2017 06:42

Often it's clothes that smell though.

So often on the Tube I end up squashed next to someone whose coat is reeking of rancid fried food. Now that's smelly.

HaudYerWheeshtBawbag · 20/08/2017 06:48

No need to shower in the morning when you've just had a shower 8-9 hours before hand, it's wasteful and pointless.

yanbu

I'd agree however OP IS washing and showering!!

I think it depends on your job. Any job with close contact e.g. a HCP leaning over patients or a waitress serving in a restaurant or a beautician doing facials.... I think a shower is essential before work! Same if you share a small hot office with desks close together. It's unpleasant to smell someone even if not a 'bad' smell. One of my friends always has a musty stale smell (not sweat) and she only has a bath/shower at night. It's off putting sitting next to her. I'm sure a morning shower with strong shower gel would help.

Softkitty2 · 20/08/2017 07:06

You know that smell you smell when someone has just come out of the toilet before you? Like unwashed bits?

This!

CosmicPineapple · 20/08/2017 07:07

If you dont smell how are others going to know that you dont shower in the morning?

Unless you all dicuss your morning cleaning routine at work I would not worry about it.

Goingtobeawesome · 20/08/2017 07:10

I used to always have a night shower. Then changed to mornings but can't remember why. I much prefer to be able to get up and get dressed in a morning but recently find myself a lot more sweaty and would worry about smelling so it's back to morning showers.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 20/08/2017 07:56

This is bad digestion. A shower won't help there.

IDoDaChaCha · 20/08/2017 08:16

ChickenVindaloo2 what does it matter what people at work do? They're sitting next to you not on you...

IDoDaChaCha · 20/08/2017 08:18

Completely agree with cardibach -overreactions across the board. Very MN.

BeyondThePage · 20/08/2017 08:23

We have one bathroom and 4 adults - I shower at night, I get to take my time, if I shower in the morning it has to take seconds and my hair needs drying before work.

IDoDaChaCha · 20/08/2017 08:24

itsbetterthanabox some people just sweat more than others. My body temperature rockets when I'm asleep (been told I'm "hot to the touch"). Doesn't matter what I'm wearing to bed, if anything. Others may have hormone related sweating. I sweat more on periods and sweated loads when I was pregnant.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 20/08/2017 08:26

A lot of people round here shower in the evening. They're farmers and the like so don't see the point in showering just to get covered in cow shit. Everyone has different routines and you shouldn't call people disgusting for having a different routine to yourself.

IDoDaChaCha · 20/08/2017 08:28

Winterview that is probably just your friends unique scent. We all have one, some stronger than others. Probably an evolutionary thing to attract mates/communicate. We are conditioned to expect everyone to smell of perfume or the like, yet complain when they're wearing too much. You can't win.

IDoDaChaCha · 20/08/2017 08:31

Softkitty2 none of us are walking around naked in public (are we..?!) so I don't see how this is relevant.

IDoDaChaCha · 20/08/2017 08:32

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed exactly. It's so rude.

LorLorr2 · 20/08/2017 08:33

Night shower here too. Don't worry about not doing it at morning, if you showered at evening then needed to shower again before 7am, I'd imagine you have a temperature issue in your bedroom!

Pleasedontdrawonyoursister · 20/08/2017 08:35

It's fine. I have 2 v young children and found it far too much aggro to shower first thing. I do it before bed now, apart from weekends when someone is around to watch the little ones. If you change sheets/PJs regularly and are not a big sweater it's fine. Cannot believe how many people are judging here, could you honestly tell if someone has showered before or after bed...?

You're all disgusting.

I shower 5 times a day. And use different towels each time.

Plus I change my pants hourly.

YOU'RE ALL PROPER GRIM.

5rivers7hills · 20/08/2017 08:54

Just woken up.

Sniffed myself. I smell a little bit of my dove deodorant I applied last night after my shower. My hair still smells of my shampoo/conditioner.

Looks like I haven't become rancid over night!!

onemorecakeplease · 20/08/2017 08:58

Dh doesn't shower on earlies or he would wake the whole house!
He has one the night before and shaves in the morning. Even by the next night he still smells lovely!
