Am I being totally PFB or is this impressive for a 4 yr old?

Dd finds my little electric, hand held fan earlier and is sad it's not working. I'm busy and say I'll sort it later. About 15mins later she strolls in with it working having found the batteries, dismantled the fan an put new ones in the right way. I was impressed but she's my only child and everything she does is amazing to me!! (She's only just 4 BTW)

piglet I've posted too much personal stuff resently and my mum was around to witness my genius daughter triumph earlier so didn't want her to read it on here and link back to stuff I don't want her to know about.

Now it's really bedtime!!!

Well, I thought NK's response was funny Grin

CoveredInBeeees · 16/08/2017 23:09

This might explain why some are warning about batteries. I assume other batteries can also cause serious problems...but I'm no expert

Aged 5 my DAD could attach and peg feed her disabled brother. She could administer meds that had already been drawn up, flush and remove the tube !!!
That's awesome !!!!!

She's been changing batteries for years..... We keep them above her head in a cupboard.

.... And as my DM would say ..."at least a cunt is useful!" 🤣

MadMags · 16/08/2017 23:15

I actually found your post incredibly boring and braggy which led to my replying sarcastically.

That's unnecessary. You couldn't have just ignored it. Confused

However, OP calling people cunts because they were a bit sarcastic is OTT.

This thread is bizarre!

Brittbugs80 · 16/08/2017 23:28

I'm impressed she found the batteries. No one can find new batteries on our house, even though new packs are frequently purchased. They seem to go to the same place as random socks.

They don't even end up in the crap drawer, although we do have a lot of elastic bands, paper clips and Alan keys in there that no one seems to know where they come from.

NK493efc93X1277dd3d6d4 · 16/08/2017 23:36

MadMags you are right - I could have ignored it. However this is aibu and so I felt I could reply honestly.
Had it been on any other board I would not have done. In fact probably wouldn't have seen it.

kali110 · 16/08/2017 23:40

I do think the reaction to NK was massively ott and calling them a gt and a troll ( which is why you were deleted) is an overeeaction.

LadyDeadpool · 16/08/2017 23:44

OP if she can reach the bleach can she reach your partners weed? Might want to check that...

AnnieAnoniMouse · 16/08/2017 23:45

Good grief, is there a full moon?

Blackberry. Definitely hold back from calling the papers, you Mummy of a PFB you 😂 A 'just 4' yo changing batteries isn't that unusual and it was either good luck, good observation or a good memory that they were in the right way.

However, not whinging & moaning but going off to do it herself is impressive, she sounds cute & resourceful. Which is actually what would also worry me about the bleach etc - I'd be scared she'd decide to do something to help and accidentally hurt herself. Mind you, one of the most dangerous cleaning things in good home are dishwashing tablets & I bet some of the not-so-nice posters on this thread don't have those under lock & key.

missmollyhadadolly · 16/08/2017 23:47

However this is aibu and so I felt I could reply honestly.

AIBU is not an excuse to be nasty for the sake of it and then call sarcasm 'honesty'. How was telling OP to report every little thing 'honest'?

AnnieAnoniMouse · 16/08/2017 23:47

LadyDeadpool. FFS was there any need for that?

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 16/08/2017 23:51

well, it is blatantly obvious who this is...

LadyDeadpool · 16/08/2017 23:55

Yes, There was a need for it. Was there a need for you to question my need to post it? Smile

RadioGaGoo · 17/08/2017 06:33

I also thought NK's reply was funny and pretty tame compared to the real nastiness regularly displayed on AIBU. At least the predicable and unoriginal 'you sound jealous' or 'you sound like hard work' have not been trotted out.

It really is completely obvious who this is, isn't it? I'd bet good money on it!

KermitsLoveChild · 17/08/2017 08:24

User yes it is!

JustMumNowNotMe · 17/08/2017 08:28

Shes just watched you and copied. DD2 is 2 and often does this with the TV remotes and one of her toys, taking them out and putting them back in. Ive given up telling her off for it or trying to tape stuff shut, she soon gets tbe tape off and does it anyway the little sod!

MadMags · 17/08/2017 08:29

Ach, I didn't even cop on to her!

Nomoreboomandbust · 17/08/2017 08:35

This has to me one of the funniest threads on here in 10 years.

Peanutbuttercheese · 17/08/2017 08:36

As an aside MENSA just means your good at a certain type of logical problem solving. My brother is a member and is still a bit of a dick. The bona fida intellectuals I know wouldn't even contemplate doing the test.

RedBullBlood · 17/08/2017 08:38

I never see the point of name changing when you just write the same old chuff over and over. Pointless.

pigeondujour · 17/08/2017 08:46

Yes, user, totally obvious.

I would be pretty impressed by a 4 year old changing batteries too though Grin but I didn't know don't believe that that's 'totally normal'.

JustMumNowNotMe · 17/08/2017 08:52

Why would you be impressed pig? Its just as simple as watching a grown up and copying, its hardly difficult?! Confused
