Am I being totally PFB or is this impressive for a 4 yr old?

Dd finds my little electric, hand held fan earlier and is sad it's not working. I'm busy and say I'll sort it later. About 15mins later she strolls in with it working having found the batteries, dismantled the fan an put new ones in the right way. I was impressed but she's my only child and everything she does is amazing to me!! (She's only just 4 BTW)

Sounds impressive to me!

TheHauntedFishtank · 16/08/2017 21:42

No she might not start necking bleach but she might decide to 'help' by cleaning the toilet etc etc.

kmc1111 · 16/08/2017 21:43

I think that's just pretty normal tbh.

sororitynoise · 16/08/2017 21:44

@thehauntedfishtank
Don't be silly! She's 4! She won't do anything dangerous with chemicals that are kept in her reach! She's too clever! She can change batteries...Confused

ineedamoreadultieradult · 16/08/2017 21:45

Sounds like normal 4 year old behaviour.

StickThatInYourPipe · 16/08/2017 21:45

RainbowPastel and Nishky

Are you serious? Am I serious? How in the name of god did I not get that? I was one ffs!! (Ha!)

Thank you though Grin

StickThatInYourPipe · 16/08/2017 21:47

AnneGrommit apologies! Didn't mean to miss you out! Thank you too ;)

Lol at pretty fucking big though

StarryCorpulentCunt · 16/08/2017 21:49

Pretty normal I'd say. My DS is nearly 4 and can match up symbols fairly easily. I had him helping me with flat packs last weekend by finding the right screwdriver heads for all the piddly, fiddly, twat shaped, bastard different screws. It's that moment of pride though isn't it? Where you realise your little helpless baby is suddenly a proper little boy/girl and capable of actually doing things and you can't quite work out when that happened.

fuckingroundabout · 16/08/2017 21:49

my 2 year old always on any toy with noise thats not working asks me for me and then puts them in but she has major weaknesses in other areas.

Intothenestofvipers · 16/08/2017 21:51

I remember back in the 80s when batteries were not seen as dangerous at all Hmm that me and my brother regularly used to change the batteries in our toys without help from our parents - I can't have been more than four. Mind you my brother is rather a well paid engineer now.

arethereanyleftatall · 16/08/2017 21:57

Impressive I think.
I don't think either of my dc, 8&6, could do that.
But then they've never seen me do that I don't think Blush so they wouldn't know.

elizabethdraper · 16/08/2017 22:01

Really, I thought all kids could do that by 4.Shock

My 3 and bit year old does this. I thought it was just monkey see, monkey do.

Maybe I should pay more attention when people say he is advancedBlush

KinkyAfro · 16/08/2017 22:05

Shit replies as ever, why can't op be proud of her kid doing something for the first time. Nice to bring her down with twattish comments.

There are some total joysuckers on here lately

tinatsarina · 16/08/2017 22:08

My three year old can do it, well just about, he can get them in to the Xbox controller or tv remote if they fallen and opened but not alway the right way. It's good that she's observant and has developed initiative and independence.

AtSea1979 · 16/08/2017 22:09

Being proud is one thing. Asking if it's impressive and whether she's being PFB only to then call people cunts who go for the latter kind of sucks the joy out of it.

theancientmarinader · 16/08/2017 22:12

Wait up y'all. Now parents are required to have a deep paranoia of batteries and store them safely? When the hell did that bollocks start?

Bleach, yeah yeah. Batteries? Someone needs to give me a quick run-down on 21st century battery etiquette for parents. I don't know anyone who 'stores batteries properly' and know many many children who have been changing the batteries in their own wii controllers and what not for.e.ver.

Lemonnaise · 16/08/2017 22:13

I see all the usual unpleasant bastards are on this thread, all trying to out do each other with their 'sarcasm'.

KinkyAfro · 16/08/2017 22:13

Well it was an unnecessarily cuntish response so I don't blame OP.

Yeah I meant the people being arseholes to OP, she was right in her response.

KinkyAfro · 16/08/2017 22:17

Sorry lemon my response was aimed at atsea

PollytheDolly · 16/08/2017 22:18

I used to lick batteries when younger.

KinkyAfro · 16/08/2017 22:23

polly I remember that awful metallic shock on your tongue...didn't deter us tho!

temporarilycross · 16/08/2017 22:23

You're being pfb, but why the hell not? It's nice to be proud of your dc and it's good for their self-esteem if you think they are good at stuff and tell them about it.
So, instead of telling mumsnet, where you are very likely to get unpleasant answers, go and tell your dd you think she's amazing.

First response on this thread was fairly cunty.

kali110 · 16/08/2017 22:25

KinkyAfro i rather liked that metallic taste Blush

intergalacticbrexitdisco · 16/08/2017 22:26

You're a cunt is a complete sentence, remember :)
