Can I join you? I'm 35 but I'd love to go back to the late 90s 👐

feelingblue123 · 11/08/2017 22:17

I'm 33 and only just discovered techno. YANBU. Rave away....its good for you. Plenty of people we race with are in their 40s and 50s.

LadyWithLapdog · 11/08/2017 22:17

You don't have to stay till 6 am. I can assure you that you won't be the oldest there.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 11/08/2017 22:18

Do it big I bet you'll want a cup of tea before the sun rises Smile

Stripyhoglets · 11/08/2017 22:22

Where did you go clubbing? I was in Liverpool at the start of the dance/rave scene and loved a big club which was called the academy - it became one of the big name clubs later on iirc.

Belladonna123 · 11/08/2017 22:23

Love thisSmile

I often feel the urge to just go out and party like it's 1999!!! Lol seriously I am also 40Halo YANBU have fun if you do!

IKnewItWasBullshitAllAlong · 11/08/2017 22:24

LOVELY to find my tribe, (preferably one called quest haha)

I just want to go out dancing.

ME!!!
I got middle aged and fat with a great love of tea sometime between the 1990's and now!
I'd love to relive it, 48 hours without sleep, feeling extreme love and happiness and then utter shit for the rest of the week!

leccybill · 11/08/2017 22:30

I love dance, trance, rave and happy house. Even the odd bit of hard-core - it's all just so uplifting. Miss my clubbing days.
The late 90s were amazing in Liverpool for dance music - we were lucky.

Aquamarine1029 · 11/08/2017 22:43

I'd rather scoop my eyeballs out rather than set foot in another club. I'll stay home, drink wine, and dance like an idiot in my living room.

feelingblue123 · 11/08/2017 22:52

@zumarocks

There is a venue local to us thats an old 18th century threshing barn. Has lots of good underground nights and the building is beautiful. Other than that been to fabric and ministry of sound recently. We go to a lot of festivals and some free parties as well. Nothing commercial, we don't go to high street nightclubs. If I can't wear leggings and hiking boots m not intetested. 31 weeks pg now and still techno stomping Grin.

Henrysmycat · 11/08/2017 22:58

I do that at 40. I don't flash skin but no one says no to a decent glitter outfit. I even dressed up as space unicorn. I go with some friends that never really grew up. Don't drop Es anymore as it wipes me for the rest of the week and I got a career and responsibilities (lol) but I drink alcohol and dance till I'm knackered. Some Festivals are another outlet for me. I do miss the 90's, starting on Friday and finishing on Monday sunrise straight to uni with a bacon sammich from the canteen. Good years.

Alternativeuniverse · 11/08/2017 23:01

I am having a mid life crisis and going to Ibiza this year to go clubbing with my friend. Both in late forties. Halo

riverotter · 11/08/2017 23:07

I hated clubbing Smile

So YABU.

The best thing about getting older is not having to bother with that shit!

ANNABANANNA12 · 11/08/2017 23:12

Op, did you ever go to the state? Still have happy hazy memories of that from the early 90s!

littleredpear · 11/08/2017 23:12

My latest t shirt. Will most likely be worn to bed.

I used to go to Glasgows Arches, The End and loads in Manchester and Liverpool.

I have tea and a blanket tonight on the couch.

Sad
to want to resume clubbing in my 40s
scrabbler3 · 11/08/2017 23:18

My flatmates and I used to go to both dance and indie clubs (depending on our mood) in London in the mid/late 1990s. We always had a cup of tea when we got home in the small hours. Never had hangovers!

MazDazzle · 11/08/2017 23:25

Take me with you!

I'll take extra chewing-gum and toilet roll in my cross-over bag.

Oh how I'd love to stand on a dance floor, reaching for the the lasers, finger pointing, waiting for the big build up.

(Sigh) I'm sitting at home sipping Cava watching a documentary.

Cinderllaspinkdresswasthebest · 11/08/2017 23:28

God no - I was wild when younger but stayed away from MDMA and 'E' heads - can't believe that posters aren't up in arms at this when a thread about laughing gas is saying 'report to police' Hmm

Would you be ok with your kids doing it now?

notevernotnevernotnohow · 11/08/2017 23:29

It's not so much that you are too old, its more that time travel is not real.

Cinderllaspinkdresswasthebest · 11/08/2017 23:30

apologies if I've misunderstood and the abbreviations mean something else
