To ask what has gone wrong in the UK

I'm talking about the latest sex grooming case in Newcastle. It's the seventh large scale sex gang scandal to hit the UK after cases from towns including Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford and Bristol

I have seen nothing on mumsnet about this (although maybe I've missed it). This is shocking and outrageous. How has this been allowed to happen in so many areas? What is the solution?

This is "rape culture". Where are the (peaceful) protests and the show of support for these girls?

This phenomenon has happened in the Netherlands. Except the perpetrators are predominantly of Turkish and Moroccan origin, I believe - not Pakistani. They operated in exactly the same manner: groups of friends, cousins, brothers, uncles, fathers, colleagues etc exactly the same MO. Except the Dutch authorities were onto it quickly, and they were able to tackle it without fears of racism etc. The disparity of ethnicity between the groomers and victims didn’t stop them from doing their jobs. A Dutch friend of mine here said that the younger boys that the gangs use to lure the girls are known as ‘Romeos’ and ‘Lover boys.’
