PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 07/08/2017 17:33

You should have got the keys and then come back in for your shit once the owners were out of sight!

Devonishome1 · 07/08/2017 17:34

Please op... read the other posts later. Need an update nowwwwwww

RiojaHaze · 07/08/2017 17:34

If they've set the alarm, are you huddled in an area with no sensors?

If you've activated it, the alarm company will call the house and the police will turn up anyway!

JustGettingStarted · 07/08/2017 17:34

I hope the op updates.

PumpernickleInaWarehouse · 07/08/2017 17:34

What the actual fuck lol

thecolonelbumminganugget · 07/08/2017 17:35

DH got locked in the Bridgnorth of WH Smith once and had to call the police to get him out. (Although eventually he found the number of their customer services and called it, they called the manager to come back to the store and let him out - it's this sort of survival instinct that turned my thoughts to marrying him)

(For the sake of clarity - he wasn't taking a dump in the newspaper aisle)

notapizzaeater · 07/08/2017 17:35

Are the fish big enough to eat ?

JustGettingStarted · 07/08/2017 17:36

The police won't come. When I was a cleaner, I set off a couple that were very hard to turn off. No police.

Neighbours across the street had a defective alarm that went off all the time for a month or so. Police never came.

3luckystars · 07/08/2017 17:38

unbelievable

WalkersNotLays · 07/08/2017 17:38

obvious placemark but hope you're out and not too traumatised

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 07/08/2017 17:38

Alarms have to be set up to a security company. Very few will be linked to the police as that would be waste of resource.

Dancinginthemidnight · 07/08/2017 17:39

I hope you've managed to escape.

RhodaBorrocks · 07/08/2017 17:39

I kind of believe this as i got into a very similar situation at work the other week. I rocked up at 4:45pm to a department that normally closes (hours clearly posted on the door) at 5pm. The main door to the corridoor was open, but all others were locked.

"Hello? Anyone here?" I called. No answer.

I was busting for a wee and the loo was right There, so I dashed in quickly, reasoning that either they left the main door unlocked or else I had 15 minutes.

I came out all of 5 minutes later (4:51pm) and found myself locked in. The fire door proclaimed to be alarmed, but I needed to collect DS from childcare, so I thought "Fuck it" and prepared for the alarm to go off as I legged it down the fire escape. I got in my best runners stance and flung the door open and...

Nothing. Not a fucking thing. I legged it down the fire escape anyway, lest anyone see me and hid in the safety of my car. I then rang the main switchboard anonymously and got put through to security who barely believed me to ask them to go and secure the fire escape.

My first thought was not to post on MN because I escaped .

Moral of the story: Beware needing the loo in unfamiliar territory! Grin

starfishmummy · 07/08/2017 17:40

I predict that friend arrived with charger. Being skinnier than the op s/he climbed in through the open window and.reason can't get back out and now they are both stuck.🤣😂🤣😂

RiojaHaze · 07/08/2017 17:40

They're linked to the police through the alarm company; if two separate sensors get set off within a certain time period they will respond.

notapizzaeater · 07/08/2017 17:40

Alarms don't have to be set up to a security company - mine isn't (but we never ever set the bloody thing)

RiojaHaze · 07/08/2017 17:40

That's if the alarm is linked on a phone line, and if it's in the middle of nowhere as the OP says then it seems silly to have an alarm that isn't as who will hear it?

Skittlesss · 07/08/2017 17:41

Hope that it isn't a trap and a weird serial killer isn't on his way to you!

IloveBanff · 07/08/2017 17:42

thecolonelbumminganugget "DH got locked in the Bridgnorth of WH Smith once"

How did that happen?

DancingOnMyOwn · 07/08/2017 17:42

Are you out yet?!

CoalitionOfChaos · 07/08/2017 17:44

....

TheSpottedZebra · 07/08/2017 17:44

YY to poems.

I'll start.

There was a young lady called Squat
Keys to her neighbours, have she did not
So she charged up her phone
Went on MN, had a moan
And we talked about pies, a lot
