Amazon Mistake WWYD?

Hi everyone

Last night I ordered a babygate and baby cutlery from amazon prime to be delivered today.

This morning, the cutlery arrived and so did the babygate, or so I thought. Turns out that amazon have sent me a ball pit and pack of 100 balls. No babygate.

The ball pit and balls are exactly the same as what we ordered and received some 8 months ago! I've just had an email to say that the babygate I ordered has been disbatched, no mention of the ballpit they've accidentally sent me.

AIBU to keep the ballpit and say nothing? Would you keep it or return it?

if your going to keep it anyway why bother starting a tread about what to do about it and then ignore the posters that advise you to contact amazon

Trying desperately to think of more MNisms but can only think of a 'tradesman' pooing in the toilet being a massive no-no and cant think of a way to shoehorn it in :(

I always believe that advise was just that, advise, not orders. Just because one asks for advise, doesn't mean they need to take it.

You could direct any future tradesman to the colourful lav in the back yard gah

Offensive item can hide nicely out of sight under the bright little balls.

Shoehorned enough? Grin

Well, Soupie has provided the obligatory spelling correction, so my Bingo card is filling up nicely

No. You don't have to take advice.

Still makes it theft.

Return it or pay for it.

Things that are from Amazon Prime are from the Amazon warehouses aren't they? Happy to be corrected. If so I wouldn't worry about any little old ladies.

I'd still contact them though, they'll surely let you keep it.

Tell them for goodness sake. They'll probably tell you keep it, which you can then do with a clear conscience.

Otherwise, it's theft.

Tell them. They'll probably let you keep it but you'll have a clear conscience!

That happened to me a few years ago with JL and delivering an extra coffee frother, I just kept it, their cock up. Its not stealing ffs!

Speak to them. They'll either let you keep it or if they do want it back give you some sort of voucher as an apology.

DS ordered some Lego things last year and they sent two sets. They told us to keep the other one. We donated it to a local woman's shelter who were over the moon with it.

OP should surely just identify as someone who hasn't been sent a ball pit in error?

It's sounds like your intention all along was to keep it so why even ask for 'advice' Confused

I've not asked what I should do at all, I'm just wondering what other people would do. Maybe you should read things a bit better.

^^Rude. YOU asked the question; if you don't like the answers, don't have a pop at me.

Loads of pps have told you they would let Amazon know. If you're happy not to, and to knowingly keep something that's not yours, crack on.

Are you sure they haven't posted it instead of the baby gate? I ordered a book once - they sent me a dog collar for a large dog that I didn't own... they paid for me to send the dog collar back then sent me my book out. I was a bit surprised as in the past they've told me to keep misdelivered items - but then again I didn't have a lot of use for it.

What a lovely thing to teach chidren, that it's ok to steal.

Presumably If the item is kept then the OP would have no issue to someone stealing from them as there's nothing wrong in doing so.
