We're going to have to call a halt to Brexit aren't we?

Lukewarm Remain voter here. Understand that the Government has to listen to 'the will of the people' and all that.

But for the love of God, now that it's clear what absolute economic suicide we're committing surely we've got to put a halt to it whilst the govt and the opposition work out what the fuck's going on!

Ah, you read the Express.

How's Diana doing these days?

mummmy2017 · 10/08/2017 22:11

Telegraph, Independant and Guardian have it as well, oh and CNN, BBC.
Still think he didn't say it a week ago?

CardinalSin · 10/08/2017 22:27

I say again, you really do have problems with comprehension;

"But the Commission president said he still expected Britain to leave the European Union"

I did find this in the Guardian though...

habenero20 · 10/08/2017 22:39

the clowns in power aren't really inspiring confidence.

mathanxiety · 10/08/2017 22:45

"mud-sling" Hmm

Do you think this is all a playground game, Mummy?

mummmy2017 · 10/08/2017 22:53

No I think it has happened, and your refusing to accept it because you don't like it.
I think your placing your hopes on something that isn't going to happen, and pick up on anything I think to call me wrong, but reality is it has happened, it will happen, and you are going to have to deal with it.

CardinalSin · 10/08/2017 23:00

"No I think it has happened"

Wow, it really is an alternative reality now! Mummy is living in the future!

CrowyMcCrowFace · 10/08/2017 23:05

Well, it's odds on it will, & Mummmy2017 is happy for it to happen & be horrible.

Fascinating thread.

AfunaMbatata · 10/08/2017 23:05

No point arguing with fools.

CrowyMcCrowFace · 10/08/2017 23:06

For it to be horrible. Not suggesting PP is attempting to be horrible, although she's apparently aOK with horribleness as an outcome.

mummmy2017 · 10/08/2017 23:08

pick up on anything I think to call me wrong, but reality is
it has happened,............ Article 50

it will happen,..................We leave EU
and you are going to have to deal with it.

Yet again you prove my point.

CardinalSin · 10/08/2017 23:34

Funny how Mummy "knows" so much about what will happen, and yet is entirely ignorant on how.

One would almost think she was pathetically trying to convince herself...

mummmy2017 · 10/08/2017 23:44

Cardinalsin, it's also funny how you just won't accept what has happened.
Everyone knows we voted leave.
Knows Article 50 has happened.
Yet your convinced it will stop because you want it too.
One of us is living with reality and one of us isn't.

CardinalSin · 10/08/2017 23:53

Blah blah blah I know everything blah blah blah

mummmy2017 · 10/08/2017 23:56

Bet you wish you hadn't written that...
If you know everything, then it's all going to fine and we can let you get on with making sure the deal goes the way you want Cardinalsin.

CardinalSin · 11/08/2017 00:00

Oh dear, comprehension really isn't your thing, is it...

mummmy2017 · 11/08/2017 00:03

Oh I understood your meaning and thought you had made a very big Freudian slip.

CardinalSin · 11/08/2017 00:07

Keep trying

Peregrina · 11/08/2017 00:41

Both Labor and Tory have said there will not be another election as this was what the Majority of the Voting public agreed too.

Did they? I don't recall being asked. Who incidentally are Labor?

mummmy2017 · 11/08/2017 00:57

So mock the spelling, it tells me you have nothing else you can do.
This does not change the position that we voted to LEAVE.

londonista · 11/08/2017 07:08

This whole thing is utterly unfixable.
We should never have been put in this position. Not one of us understands the UKs complex relationship with the EU, even now - including those we've chosen to govern.

The cost of Brexit, not just the speculative lost opps etc, but just the cost of paying people to try and figure it out is going to be our undoing. My sons school has an Amazon wish list for supplies, the year 6 pupils clean their own classroom, the parents do all the repairs and upkeep. The situation is dire - and yet we somehow have to make room in the budget for this utter folly. To achieve an outcome no one is going to be happy with. It absolutely beggars belief, no wonder the rest of the world thinks we've lost our mind.

MsHooliesCardigan · 11/08/2017 08:57

mummy I generally make a rule not to point out spelling or grammar mistakes but I find it unusual for a Mensa member to make so many basic errors.
It's Tories, not Tory's.
It's Labour, not Labour.
And it's you're, not your. Your means belonging to. You're is the abbreviation of you are.
HTH.

MsHooliesCardigan · 11/08/2017 08:59

*not Labor. My brain finds it hard to spell words wrong.

mummmy2017 · 11/08/2017 09:19

Mensa isn't a spelling test, it's more numbers and reasoning.
Seeing patterns and how things interlock.
