DH just made a very good point wattyyyy if you place a physical object in front of their door then in order to obtain access to your garden they would have to cause criminal damage to your property. It is therefore no longer a civil matter of trespassing but criminal and the police can be involved. His best suggestion is a low fence or herras fence with concreted in posts.

Drones with cameras... you need to get drone cameras so other people can fly them over and keep an eye on whats going on for you (until Spanish Grandma arrives) even though it's all hidden behind walls in your garden.

If NSK gets a drone he could possibly also use it to deliver wine and cake straight to you with no need to cross the road to the shop!

I am late to the party here but as an obsessive Grand Designs fan I've noticed that when people have to encroach on other's gardens to build their mcmansions with huge basements it appears to be entirely appropriate to pay them handsomely for the inconvenience, so I hope OP will be adequately compensated.
