I bet they went away for a long weekend so that they wouldn't have to deal with the disruption and are expecting to come home to a pristine new kitchen with lovely access to someone else's the garden

If CFB (Cheeky Fucker Builder) has warned them, they'll now be feart to come home but they'll have to eveventually

We may not find out their reaction until Sunday or even later

I'm thinking that it being listed has made it easier than just asking them to remove the doors as it isn't their garden?

Great news. As someone has already said you need to do something to make it clear it is not a communal garden.

Have you had any contact with any of the other neighbours who have flats with gardens. I would imagine they have been watching this with interest.

I bet ever MNer on these threads has weighed up their own garden/neighbour situation and put ourselves in op' position!!

They will have to reinstate it after they have had the reinstatement plans approved. If they don't do it within the timescale on the notice, the council can set in and do it and charge them/lean on deeds.

They will be criminally cautioned and interviewed which could be taken to court.

I had a similar case (about unauthorized window replacement) and they owner didn't comply with the notice so we're taken to court. Ended up with criminal record, 5 figure fine and a few months jail time.

vfor they told me I could do a clean of my own stuff but not to touch the bricks etc until I hear back - the uncovered piece they found was actually so massive they couldn't even lift it. I suspect the builders would've been coming back with some kind of device to move it, presuming it's worth anything.

It is always good to have planning enforcement on your side. It is a huge bonus in fighting the CFNs, as that would have been hard work on your own.

Remember that their priority is to look after their own interest. They will probably do what they can for you, but you do need to have your own advice too.

I suspect it is unlikely that the owners have the funds or the mindset to simply replace the window as it was and make good. It may be something that drags on with many twists and turns.

Phew!!! I've just been playing catch up and scrawled through 20 pages - I am so pleased, CFN's are going to get the rule book chucked at them. They've broken every single rule going - and then some by the sound of things!!!

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when all this shit finally catches up with them!! Ha ha
