All of the posters calling me a dick or acting like legal eagles are talking out of your arses. If you ever go through a messy civil procedure like a divorce or a land/financial dispute it thickens your skin and gives you the ability to be light hearted about things like this or go mad or both.
I thought I was actually being helpful to prepare OP for some of the challenges she might face rather another self gratifying echo or a 'placemarker'.
Land disputes are never completely black and white. Most land was originally sold caveat emptor which means buyer beware. You can have 'your land' taken away if new or historical evidence arises or even if someone makes a good enough argument to a judge. This isn't school you can't go to teacher and get your lunch money back from the class bully with one word.
It is not possible to 'steal' land it was there long before we were all born and will be there long after we return to it. I didn't sneak into my neighbours house and nick money out of their purses. I acted legally and maybe a bit like an asshole in order to claim assets that were worth considerable amounts of money. If you get your heads out of your own arses you might see that there could be a little bit of a CFN in you too
