To think this was a really cunty and odd thing to do

I had parked in the local co op car park and When I came out I'd been almost completely blocked in. it's a tiny car park anyway. I had to back out vv slowly and carefully. There wasn't enough space to turn around and go out forwards so my only option was to reverse out. I'm not feeling too great, it's red hot and 3 dc were all going apeshit, bickering etc. Whilst looking around to make sure it was safe to reverse I noticed a man next to my car, really staring at me, watching me, sort of smirking, arms crossed. It made me feel intimidated tbh. Kept slowly going back and I can see the exit.

Bloke still staring to the point where DC even noticed and said what's that guy looking at

I felt so weird and under pressure. Suddenly I heard a CRUNCH and my car jolts my heart sank

So out I get and I've scraped my bumper on a small bollard that was out of my eyeline 😰

And this cunt is laughing. he is actually laughing. Smaller dc are crying because the jolt / bang scared them

I have a very nice Audi (well it was nice 😰😰) It's not new but it's lovely and my pride and joy. And I'm female. I can't help but feel these facts are connected and the twat was hoping I'd bump the car cos it clearly made his day 😡

Btw I 100% realise it was no ones fault but mine that I didn't see the bollard. My issue is if I saw someone struggling to negotiate a situation like mine i would warn them if there was something in the way

if you see someone doing that again, don't subjugate yourself to them and play their game as they want you to, by getting stressed, not saying anything, and duly making the mistake they are hoping you will make. You have done precisely what this man wanted you to do! Next time assert yourself and say I don't want to reverse with some fat layabout worthless scum watching, and just turn off the engine and get out with the kids. Say something appallingly rude to the piece of sh1t that will haunt him for the rest of his days ("toothless bald penniless fat cvnt" usually does it) and walk off.

Op you have my sympathy. An almost identical thing happened to me 4 weeks ago when I was 39 weeks pregnant and rushing to get 4yo dd to swimming. I was distracted by a chap weaving round the front of me while I was reversing and bumped the car next to me. Chap in car stopped and laughed before driving off. Then a family stopped and watched while I tried to sort myself out before deciding I would park elsewhere before leaving a note. Woman of watching family decided to shriek at me for leaving the scene then stand and watch while I hunted in my bag for a pen and paper. I also drove an Audi - it is an ancient one though.

People can be cunts.

What you should have done was sashay elegantly out of your car, give the damage a cursory glance, and then say, "Damn, looks like I'll have to drive the Mercedes until this is out of the shop. What a drag." Then nonchalantly leave.

Wrenika fundamental, basic skills - not being needlessly horrible to people.

Laughing at people you don't know (or people you do) as they struggle to do things is bizarre and nasty.

Not all people are as nice as the OP, you might get a wee fright one day. My response would not be to ignore you.

Our local Aldi car park is a real pain to park in...its tiny and always full...ive had men stand watching me aswell but have got out of the car and walked into town for a coffee rather than give them the satisfaction of watching me struggle.

Yes he was a cunt. Don't let him get to you, he obviously has a sad life. However, you should probably learn to reverse park into spaces. Its much safer for your car and pedestrians, and easier to get out.

How fast were you going if the car jolted enough to scare them and make a bang?!

I've hit plenty of bollards when reversing but never with enough force to jolt or create a bang that would frighten a child.

But the man was a cunt. Just think how much of a bigger cunt he will sound if he tells the story "guess what, I watched a woman reverse her car into a bollard it was hilarious, I could have stopped her but I didn't"
