Miaoriely2017 · 19/07/2017 08:35

only answer if your comfortable but what rent is paid in different areas of the country?
Reading through threads and it's a bit of a eye opener.
I have a 2 bed in north east (social housing) and pay £330 a month
My boyfriend was talking about eventually moving further south (he works as a haulage driver and more work ) how much would social or private housing be down south?

I'm in a 3 bed semi in SE London currently paying £1300 a month I've been here 6 years now, if I wanted to move tomorrow I'd expect to pay in the region of £1400-1500 for the same kind of property in his area.

£1,900 for three bed house with tiny garden in nice, but not particularly central part of Cambridge.

pinklemonade84 · 19/07/2017 14:58

We live near Crewe. A 2 bedroom private rented house can be between £525 and £600. Then a 3 bedroom anything from £550 upwards depending on location

Cleorapter · 19/07/2017 15:15

Hertfordshire, about 25mins train ride from Kings Cross. Average 3 bed is around £1200-£1300. Council housing is approx £530 a month.

PlayOnWurtz · 19/07/2017 15:19

2 bed in South East £700 up to £1500 in this area

CarbonMint · 19/07/2017 15:23

Scotland. 4 bed farm house with out buildings and acre of land. £500 pcm.
Moved from a three bed semi in London that cost £1800.
I could never afford to move back. Not that I want to. Not with views like this. Grin to

3 bed semi about 12 miles out of Bristol with parking about £900 a month

cushioncovers · 19/07/2017 15:25

Carbon what a fab move.

Hidingtonothing · 19/07/2017 15:31

3 bed semi, housing association approx £400 a month, private £550-600 a month, West Midlands. Some of the prices on this thread are making my eyes water.

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 19/07/2017 15:31

2 (big) bed, semi detached cottage in a farm yard with one other house, reasonable garden, loads of private parking and the sea and coastal walks visible from the house, North Devon, reasonable condition but could do with some sprucing up outside - £500 pcm, water only included.

Cambam2010 · 19/07/2017 15:35

Kent - 3 bed small semi. £800pcm. This has been the same for 4 years now and similar properties are now renting at £1000pcm.

ItsNachoCheese · 19/07/2017 15:41

Central scotland, 2 bed semi detached council house with front & back garden and drive, rent is 320 a month

Rockhopper81 · 19/07/2017 15:52

3 bed terrace, with all bedrooms decent size, in the midlands - £700pcm (it could be a bit more, but the tenants are reliable and haven't caused any problems).

2 bed first floor flat in Dorset - £750pcm. Again, a little cheaper as it was a known landlord (could've realistically been £800-£850pcm).

RockPaperCut · 19/07/2017 15:52

Hertfordshire- 4 bed (2 tiny rooms), detached, off street parking, garage and small garden, built around 2000's in huge sprawling estate, just over a mile from the station with trains into London in 40 minutes. £1750 pm

Louisianna16 · 19/07/2017 16:05

Did I just read correctly that someone is paying 12.5 K a MONTH in London?!

We own, but rent out a Victorian 2 bed cottage with decent size garden in South Shropshire countryside for £450 a month. Lower than we could get round there, but we value long term tenancy - and there's no central heating.

Changebagsandgladrags · 19/07/2017 16:06

3 bed terraced house in Greenford rented out at £1650 a month
4 bed detached just outside Harrogate £1100 a month

Barbapapa1980 · 19/07/2017 16:08

South-west London : 1800 pounds a month for a lovely 3 bedrooms house + garden.

InglouriousBasterd · 19/07/2017 16:09

Little two bed flat, small garden, zone 6 - 1100. And that's cheap around here.

Tabymoomoo · 19/07/2017 16:27

Surrey Hills - 1 bed flat in village £1200 pm, 3 bed semi in countryside £2000 pm,
gorgeous 7 bed detached house with tennis court £12,000 pm (who would spend £12k a month on rent?!!!)

AnaVanda · 19/07/2017 16:32

My son pays £650 in Greenwich for a small room in an hmo. Shared kitchen and bathroom with 4 other unrelated people. They are all working and not students.

girlonmn · 19/07/2017 16:34

£190 a month for a 2 bedroom house

SheSaidHeSaid · 19/07/2017 16:36

I debated whether to sell my last house or rent it out. I was told me 2 bed house would fetch approx £1,100pcm. This was in Hertfordshire but with a train station that got to London Kings Cross in 25 mins.

JudyBlumeForever · 19/07/2017 16:44

South east. Dh and I rent out 2 properties. 3 bed detached house £900, tiny bedsit flat £500 - but.... We haven't increased the rent for years on the house (really good tenants and we don't want to price them out of their home).

To just rent a double room in a shared house in the city we live in is around £550

CarstieLou · 19/07/2017 16:53

2 bedrooms terrace house with no garden, zone 2 SW London. £1800 per month Shock

BlackPeppercorn · 19/07/2017 16:58

I rent out a 2 bed semi with garden and parking in Ashford Kent for £675
Up to 5 years ago I rented out a 3 bed semi in zone 5 Norbury London for £1400. Gawd knows what they go for nowadays.
