New thread so that we can await this afternoon's hearing at 1400 (UK time)

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Please note the MNHQ comment on thread number 7.

"Hi everyone,

..... We had to remove several parent-blaming posts, so we'd like to ask folk not to do this. We think we can all agree that this is a truly awful time for all involved and we just wouldn't wish it on anyone. If there's anything we could do with more of, it's support. We'll continue to remove reported posts that break TGs (if we've missed something, do feel free to let us know).

If we have to make too many deletions, we will need to look at removing the thread; which is the last thing we wish to do.

Thanks all"

Blondie an MRI does not show the type of brain damage Charlie has, which is damage within the cells themselves. It would show you damage like a tumour or clot or haemorrhage etc, none of which he has.

EEG studies are the ones that show the damage to Charlie's brain function. Several of these have been done and they all confirm massive functional brain damage which has shown deterioration over time.

If anyone would like to read more on that it's all in the original rulings.

Does anyone know if GOSH would have allowed US doctors to come over and assess Charlie before now?
Or did they not allow access to other medics?

GabsAlot · 14/07/2017 14:20

hs alrady said he not specialist in brain function so i dont see the point

stitchglitched · 14/07/2017 14:20

Someone else on twitter saying Gollop just said Hirano was invited to examine Charlie back in Jan but didn't come.

rabbitnothare · 14/07/2017 14:20

I do wonder why it has taken so long for the expert to come over though!

So do I, I was given short shrift for asking this.

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:20

Mr Armstrong moves on to the head measurement controversy. It appears it has not yet been done.

OP posts:
LovelyBath77 · 14/07/2017 14:20

Didn't he say yesterday he wanted a paediatric neurologist to look at the tests?

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 14:21

DarthMaiden, they were saying they do not condone the threats of violence on Ca page, but on one of the posts with a threat of violence someone was saying connie kept bumping it, seems to methey have realised, however it should never have happened and they are still dragging Gosh name through the mud on the page.

GabsAlot · 14/07/2017 14:21

blondi four other medics came to see him in th other case

not american though

LovelyBath77 · 14/07/2017 14:21

The head has still not been done...what by anyone? Confused

LapinR0se · 14/07/2017 14:21

Howwwww just how have they not measured his goddamn head????

Venusflytwat · 14/07/2017 14:21

GOSH consulted with several other specialists worldwide previously, all of whom agreed with them, including the parents' own specialist.

This guy didn't ask to come and examine Charlie until now because no one has paid him to do so yet.

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:21

There is, he says, some suggestion of "imaging" of Charlie's head being done. If that can't be done then a tape measure will be used.

DarthMaiden · 14/07/2017 14:22

Thanks Mucky/CJT

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 14:22

stitchglitched, how on earth can he be a credible witness then???? arghhhh grrrrrrr

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:22

LapinR0se Fuck knows...

OP posts:
Bloomed · 14/07/2017 14:22

These delays are really tragic. I do hope that all those who've threatened violence towards GOSH and the legal teams are prosecuted.

LovelyBath77 · 14/07/2017 14:22

All along this guy has seemed reluctant

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:22

Armstrong: there will be a transcript of the clinicians' meeting. It's proposed that there should be a brief directions hearing on 21 July. Another week....

OP posts:
Jux · 14/07/2017 14:22

Can the Judge find that this meeting is not in CG's best interests? I suppose it is, but I don't really believe that the doc will change his mind about treating him again. Once he gets on that plane he's got too much invested in going ahead.

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 14:23

Venusflytwat, why on earth did the parents not pay him to come over if they want to save their son so much????

LovelyBath77 · 14/07/2017 14:23

They are still going on about best way to measure the head...

GabsAlot · 14/07/2017 14:23

thy got their 2 weeks in the end then

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:23

Judge: earliest dates for a full hearing are now 24 and 25 July.
