New thread so that we can await this afternoon's hearing at 1400 (UK time)

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Please note the MNHQ comment on thread number 7.

"Hi everyone,

..... We had to remove several parent-blaming posts, so we'd like to ask folk not to do this. We think we can all agree that this is a truly awful time for all involved and we just wouldn't wish it on anyone. If there's anything we could do with more of, it's support. We'll continue to remove reported posts that break TGs (if we've missed something, do feel free to let us know).

If we have to make too many deletions, we will need to look at removing the thread; which is the last thing we wish to do.

Thanks all"

Thank you @Venusflytwat
I find the whole thing really confusing, so these threads have been great to really spell certain things out in an easy to understand way.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 14/07/2017 14:23

Talking about 24-25 July. Wasn't that the date initially proposed but the judge turned it down?

Venusflytwat · 14/07/2017 14:24

They haven't "measured his goddamn head Hmm " yet because there isn't an easy answer. A tape measure in a baby as swollen as Charlie gives you nothing and can vary wildly depending on where the measurement is taken from.

Imaging might give you a better indicator of brain/skull growth but it's really bloody complicated to get a child as sick as him, on life support, into a scanner.

LovelyBath77 · 14/07/2017 14:24

It almost feels like they are putting off making the decision...and the result. Is that how it feels to others too? Confused

How, how, can both sides have not measured the head yet?

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 14:24

GabsAlot,oh they will get more than that...........................

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:24

Looks like he will perhaps reach his first birthday....

OP posts:
LovelyBath77 · 14/07/2017 14:25

yes, it was considered too long. (those dates)

stitchglitched · 14/07/2017 14:25

Just to clarify, Laura Gard was bumping posts not Connie. LBC reporter's twitter feed saying invitation for him to visit Charlie from GOSH been open since Jan.

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:25

Surely an MRI could have been ordered overnight?

OP posts:
LovelyBath77 · 14/07/2017 14:25

I don;t like to think of the continued affect of this on those involved. To be honest.

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:25

Judge asks for a list of witnesses who will be called to that hearing to be given to him by 1600 next Friday Another full hearing then

OP posts:
muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 14:26

Venusflytwat, yes I could see that posing a problem.

stitchglitched · 14/07/2017 14:26

Why couldn't a small part of 1.3 million have flown him over in the past 6 months?

GabsAlot · 14/07/2017 14:26

so it was too long lat week now 24th is final hearing

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:26

Thanks re Jan invite Stitch

OP posts:
rabbitnothare · 14/07/2017 14:26

muckypup73 yes, that was me, I have been following the CA page since very early on.

Both Connie and Laura posted on threads where violence was threatened and abuse against GOSH staff.

Also, the sympathetic articles were posted by both of them, someone posted a screenshot of Connie asking for a not so sympathetic BBC article to be taken down on another group.

That's why I think that the statement about not condoning violence has only come after their legal team or possibly even police has advised them.

I posted on their wall in response to a comment and it was removed immediately, the one previous to it was about violence and the admin left that up.

LovelyBath77 · 14/07/2017 14:26

invitation for him to visit Charlie from GOSH been open since Jan.

Shock

I don't think he was keen. Not sure.

ArgyMargy · 14/07/2017 14:26

Could we stop going on about his head? If it was easy it would have been done. End of.

DarthMaiden · 14/07/2017 14:26

There was an excellent post on the last thread explaining why the head measurement was not a simple task.

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:27

Charlie's parents' lawyer says they will remain open to any mediation approach that might be made to them after the medics meeting.

OP posts:
MumIsRunningAMarathon · 14/07/2017 14:27

Why are they hanging onto all that money if not to spend it on this kind of thing?

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 14:27

Judge: no mandatory injunction in force but there should be no transfer of Charlie to the US without the court's prior permission.

OP posts:
LapinR0se · 14/07/2017 14:27

I know it is not easy to get accurate head measurements but they have had almost 5 working days to do so, and the GOSH lawyer on Monday stated that his head hadn't grown in 3 months. So did she have evidence for that statement or not??

Sirzy · 14/07/2017 14:27

And let's not forget that there are other children who need those scans to save their life not just to prove some -in the grand scheme of things - futile point.

DarthMaiden · 14/07/2017 14:28

The specialist may well have said he was unable to come to London - we don't know.

Can't assume it was the parents not willing to pay for him to do so.
