New thread so that we can await this afternoon's hearing at 1400 (UK time)

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Please note the MNHQ comment on thread number 7.

"Hi everyone,

..... We had to remove several parent-blaming posts, so we'd like to ask folk not to do this. We think we can all agree that this is a truly awful time for all involved and we just wouldn't wish it on anyone. If there's anything we could do with more of, it's support. We'll continue to remove reported posts that break TGs (if we've missed something, do feel free to let us know).

If we have to make too many deletions, we will need to look at removing the thread; which is the last thing we wish to do.

Thanks all"

Yes House I wondered if this unusual step of allowing Connie to be at that meeting is to see the initial reaction of Hinaro to the evidence of Charlie's condition. Unfortunately I think Charlie will be found to be just too poorly even based on his old scans, etc the fact he has deteriorated since and will likely continue to do so even if permission given to treat FDA approval will take time.

It is desperately sad to see parents stuck in the angry stage of grieving, but for Charlie all this delay is imo cruel whichever "side" you're on; it's either prolonging suffering and pain, or you're leaving him without the treatment in limbo whilst everyone argues about it. Tragic.

rabbitnothare · 14/07/2017 19:58

3littlebadgers, very twisted, to actually track our address down and spend money doing that.

I am incredibly lucky that I have my dc though and it is nothing compared to what a bereaved parent must go through.

Online warriors whip each other up and there are some dangerous people around.

I hope that didn't upset you when I posted that, I know that you lost your dd Flowers

Beyond that made me laugh. Guess we'll find out if he arrives at GOSH in his pope mobile.

11122aa · 14/07/2017 20:05

My dad is going right charlie army at the moment saying the Judges delay's will kill him. Someone at his work defended the Gosh argument and my dad said everyone else was fuming.

NellieBuff · 14/07/2017 20:07

Firstly thanks to everyone on their hard work keeping the thread up to date with tweets and news feeds etc Flowers as I was at meetings and could not keep up to date.

We had a team meeting and ended up listening to the thought of the day on Radio 4 as recommended by this thread. One of the older dour male team members (one of those men who never show their emotions - you know the type) was in tears at the end of it and was comforted by our office apprentice. And that's a sight I thought I would never see.

Connie should not be at the clinical meeting - they are cold and dispassionate things as they only deal with cold hard facts (they have to be) and Charlie will not be discussed as a little boy but as a medical conundrum to be resolved. I do not wish to imply that the medical staff do not care – of course they do and they only have Charlie’s best interests at heart – but these meetings deal with cold hard medical facts and procedures and are unemotional things.
Absolutely heart breaking for all involved.

I hope to god that the doctor from ny stays through the whole process so that no tampering can be done with the images or anything else to do with his examination of Charlie x

Another gem from CA. Are any of them actually paying any attention to what's actually happening or just making it all up as they go along

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 20:09

Ca again I am sure they are blind, I personally aint seen any threats on here ever wouldnt surprise me is gosh didnt make it up along with the rest of the lies they are telling really hoping the judge sees through them now! X

GabsAlot · 14/07/2017 20:09

is the gard family on twitter or is just the ca?

im looking to say anything to thm btw

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/07/2017 20:10

Jux I believe the saying is William Scott's "Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad"

If this is so, some might feel the gods are making a pretty good job of it Sad

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 20:10

Seriously what the hell is wrong with these people? We are an easy target for GOSH and others not on the C Team. Anytime a woman or women have the balls to stand up for what is right, they are attacked and accused... burnt at the stake, stoned, put in asylums, prison... let them be angry - thats where they are, ignorant and angry little people! We are strong, focused and full of love and compassion! #charliegard

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 20:11

GabsAlot, I am on charlies army page on facebook

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 20:12
  • Those who tweet those tweets are people who support GOSH anyway. They cannot attack what we say (as it is the truth), so they are trying to discredit us. Also, (regarding judge Francis remarks) shaming is very different from threatening. When we say 'shame on GOSH' or ask them 'How can you sleep at night? ', we are shaming them (to look into their conscience), not threatening them. In a democratic society, where there is freedom of information and Freedom of Speech, those who do wrong must expect that people will show their disdain for it. We know we are peaceful, we know we are loving, we know we are right. We know the truth and that is what matters. LikeShow More Reactions*
rabbitnothare · 14/07/2017 20:13

They are loons, now suggesting that GOSH staff will try and poison him when no relatives there Hmm

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 20:13

Why is it not doing the bold for me?

MrsFassy · 14/07/2017 20:13

This in response to someone asking why so many positive comments about GOSH on daily fail stories

I think it's a case of authoritarian personality types. They're extremely submissive to authority figures, lacking in any kind of critical or individual thinking, siding generally with the dominant paradigm (sheep), aggressive defenders of the status quo and extremely intolerant to new or opposing ideas. Have you ever read about the Milgram experiment? These types are the ones that would literally fry someone if an authority orders them to. The aura of respectability and authority that this institution possess in the eyes of these people, automatically "switches off" the area of the brain in charge of critical thinking. The result is what you see not only in the Daily Mail, but also in any major news outlet (left or right leaning).

muckypup73 · 14/07/2017 20:13

rabbitnothare, seriously how the hell are these people allowed to vote??????

WannaBe · 14/07/2017 20:16

I detest everything to do with the "other side" of this case, but I think that in this instance GOSH have acted wrongly.

The outcome was delivered last week. The order was for Charlie's life support to be turned off. This should have been done at the earliest opportunity, given the court case was supposed to be in the best interests of Charlie. There should never have been all this stalling and delaying and going back to court again. There was no reason to. Charlie was kept alive for another ten days prior to this court case being brought, there is no reason to believe that they were under fear of legal action. If they knew and believed that the action they were taking was in Charlie's best interests, then they knew they could switch off his life support having been granted permission to do so by the courts who they approached to be able to do so.

It makes no sense for institutions like GOSH to take cases like this to court if they have no intentions on acting on the ultimate decisions. Why didn't they?

Now there's every chance that Charlie will be used as a guinea pig for God knows how long just to satisfy some wim. While the keyboard warriers who cry the loudest about having his interests at heart update their social media accounts from their mobile phones in their Charlie Gard phone cases...... Angry

rabbitnothare · 14/07/2017 20:16

That comment from them was ironic right? Grin

WannaBe I suspect that there were rumblings of more legal action and a lot of tension in PICU, they couldn't do it if the parents were physically stopping them either.

I hope that the other parents in PICU are being protected from this as much as possible.

NellieBuff · 14/07/2017 20:23

The CA are loons - I saw their latest suggestions was to send Charlie's parents their favourite meal in hospital tomorrow that that they could look forward to itm

I'm saying nothing me,

The pastor is heading back to Washington.
I tried to add him as a friend on Facebook, so I could explain why Charlie couldn't 'just come to America' but got a message saying I couldn't add him. Sad

DorotheaBeale · 14/07/2017 20:26

Why is it not doing the bold for me?

Mucky, you need to have no space between the asterisks and your text.

You also need to repeat the asterisks at the beginning and end of every paragraph or after a line break.
