New thread so that we can await this afternoon's hearing at 1400 (UK time)

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Please note the MNHQ comment on thread number 7.

"Hi everyone,

..... We had to remove several parent-blaming posts, so we'd like to ask folk not to do this. We think we can all agree that this is a truly awful time for all involved and we just wouldn't wish it on anyone. If there's anything we could do with more of, it's support. We'll continue to remove reported posts that break TGs (if we've missed something, do feel free to let us know).

If we have to make too many deletions, we will need to look at removing the thread; which is the last thing we wish to do.

Thanks all"

Hollie this tweet

Judge: any further tests need to be carried out before Monday's expert meeting.

Suggests they might have to be done regardless of the parents.

TheWeeWitch · 14/07/2017 14:59

Thing is, if the parents are shut out they will just contest whatever happens in the meeting.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 14/07/2017 14:59

"Armstrong: It's fundamental to her rights that she be able to attend this meeting."

Well, that'll whip the mob into utter frenzy.

Figaro2017 · 14/07/2017 14:59

Thank you for the explanations!

Hollycatberry · 14/07/2017 14:59

The Parents counsel (Armstrong) is talking about Connie's rights again. What about Charlie's?

Lightlovelife · 14/07/2017 14:59

How many years training have these Doctors had? She can't have crammed in that much knowledge in a few months, surely.

GabsAlot · 14/07/2017 14:59

appropriat comments what like my son likes watching his ipad

its getting ridiculous-thy refuse all scans yet thyere opinion needs to be heard

Yamayo · 14/07/2017 14:59

Armstrong: parents could sit in on expert meeting and contribute appropriate comments. Excluding them would be denying parents another right

rabbitnothare · 14/07/2017 14:59

The judge knows it will be too explosive after what happened in court, it's also really unfair on the experts.

TheWeeWitch · 14/07/2017 14:59

@GabsAlot exactly.

Sostenueto · 14/07/2017 15:00

Farcical, farcical, come on judge put your foot down and wtf does it mean charlie must not be moved without nudge knowing? Has he gone the treatment route???

DarthMaiden · 14/07/2017 15:00

Judge: Judge says its important that to encourage absolute openness among the clinicians that they're able to meet without the parents present.

rabbitnothare · 14/07/2017 15:00

Yes, what about Charlie's rights?

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 14/07/2017 15:01

GabsAlot · 14/07/2017 15:01

no sos hes just nicely making a point dont try and move him

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 15:01

Sostenueto It sounds like it could sway that way. Would Charlie nee travel documentation? HJF could order a port alert?

NannyOggsKnickers · 14/07/2017 15:01

It seems increasingly clear that no one in the Gard camp is thinking about Charlie's rights. I don't think this is malicious but a very complex self delusion. I have seen something similar and it did not end well. I rally do hope that all those involved have access to and are will to take part in good counselling.

DarthMaiden · 14/07/2017 15:01

Thanks Gin

smilingmind · 14/07/2017 15:02

Well Connie thinks she knows more than GOSH so guess Armstrong is just presenting her views as her lawyer. Doesn't mean he has to believe what he is saying.

cjt110 · 14/07/2017 15:02

Judge: Charlie's mother is not qualified. Nor is she objective or independent. She can't be, it's not a criticism.

Lexieblue · 14/07/2017 15:02

Does anyone know where I could praise the judge of this case?I feel very strongly that he has been exceptionally patient and has really handled the case extraordinarily well especially given circumstances

Yamayo · 14/07/2017 15:03

No it looks like the Gards want to keep Charlie alive at all costs no matter what.
