Fucking ridiculous.

I am fed up of these ridiculous gender neutral nonsense. You are either male or female

Exactly.

Penis - man
Vagina - woman

So sick of this gender shit.

PratStick · 02/07/2017 22:28

Mystery I met up with an old school friend for the first time in about 10 years while pregnant. I told him it was a boy. His respons

Did his parents not 'impose a gender' on him then Hmm

Bet he doesn't have kids...

DameDeDoubtance · 02/07/2017 22:31

Laws are being changed that places gender feelz above biological sex. This has already happened in the sporting world. This is why women have been getting upset for a long time, because we saw this coming.

CherriesInTheSnow · 02/07/2017 22:32

MrsK / Whitemane how terrifying :( I would be comforted somewhat if it had no effect on women but given the attitude it perpetuates and the fact that they are managing to change legislation is scary indeed :(

OP just because people say stuff on social media doesn't make it true, why can't you be more discerning? It's worrying that there are women perpetuating this too without having any care about it's ramifications. .. Meh about the younger generations, I'm 23 and am not swayed by a man telling me that him deciding he is a woman makes it reality. I mean really. ..

WhiteMane · 02/07/2017 22:34

I don't think most people understand how legal gender protections nullify sex based ones.

There's been the case in USA already where the breastfeeding mum was told that men can breastfeed too the discrimination she received wasn't sexist. Ireland, Canada, USA have changed their laws. We could be next.

CheesesOfNazereth · 02/07/2017 22:34

But as Asia (just realised who she is) points out - who has actually had their chromosomes tested? The doctor or midwife does just decide on a quick glance at birth

Yes, because 99.999% of the time that is all you need. Penis or vagina, takes a split second.

bambambini · 02/07/2017 22:36

A straight man confronted with a penis will back off. Because he is not attracted to men. And men have penises.

Who says men have penises. you can have a penis and be classed legally as a woman, you can be sent to a woman's ptison and take part in women's sports.

Andraya Yearwood who has a penis and not on hormones - recently competed in and won a state school girls athletics event in the US.

So really just saying a woman/girl has a vagina and a man/boy has a penis - is no longer true in a legal sense.

bambambini those are legal travesties. There were laws in the past that denied people their humanity. Were those people not human? of course not.

alpacasandwich · 02/07/2017 22:40

Activists can dick around with laws but they can't get into our heads and convince us that biology is made up. No amount of legislation is going to make a straight man want to suck a knob.

Italiangreyhound · 02/07/2017 22:41

sorry, "of course not, they were fully human no matter what the law said.

bambambini · 02/07/2017 22:43

bambambini those are legal travesties. There were laws in the past that denied people their humanity. Were those people not human? of course not.

Does it really matter what some people think if the law says differently and ensures that folk have to abide by it?

OP posts:
WhiteMane · 02/07/2017 22:44

Cherries that's great you're not swayed but many are. And if the law changes as it has elsewhere it doesn't matter that you know the truth. In fact it could become a hate crime to speak that truth.

And while our laws haven't changed quite yet many institutions act as if they have, competitive sports for one, and the NHS for another. There have been GPs on these threads before who say they have to treat trans people by different rules and conceal birth sex unless given permission to reveal it, even if concealing it could be detrimental to the patient. Or nurses from pysch wards who reveal the information passed down to them is that mtt are to be given spaces in female wards, even if they haven't transitioned (Google Danielle Muscato) and if the actual women patients complain (many who will be victims of male violence) they are to be shown the door. Schools are also allowing boys into girls changing rooms because they identify as a girl. Girls are being told to shut up about it. Our laws may not be there yet but sex has been erased by transideology already.

Carouselfish · 02/07/2017 22:46

more and more kids are being referred to hormonal treatments/surgeries which will leave them infertile

It's terrifying. Perhaps there need to be new laws to keep up with this - no irreversible treatment/gender reassignment given while a person is still young enough to require parental consent. The doctors going ahead with this treatment must be profit over ethics.
Chopping and changing bits of our body because we have more of the traits assigned by society to the opposite gender is crazy. Wouldn't if be good if we felt able to just be ourselves without having to give it a label it one way or the other.

VestalVirgin · 02/07/2017 22:49

Does it really matter what some people think if the law says differently and ensures that folk have to abide by it?

Yes, we can disobey laws.
In fact, it is our fucking duty to disobey laws that are just plain and obviously wrong.

I've not sat through all those endless lessons about Nazi Germany to submit to the gender ideology without a fight.

Probably, when the insanity comes to Germany, the men in power will regret they allowed me to be taught to question the law, but it is too late now.

They can take what preciously little protections from rape I have as an actual woman from my cold, dead hands.

And I fear that's exactly what they are plannning. See the transwacktivists' death threats. They know that feminists are their main enemy, they are not at all concerned about the men who allegedly murder transwomen. Not at fucking all. They want to reinstate male supremacy, that's their actual goal and that's what they are fighting for.

Spottytop1 · 02/07/2017 22:51

How ridiculous... look at the genitalia and the gender is known!

MagentaRose72 · 02/07/2017 22:52

Exactly OP.
Far better parenting to bring up a child with positive body image than bring up one who cant accept their own body and then spends their adulthood taking hormones. Hormones which harm. In the case of a transman, the hormones make breast and womb cancers much more likely-yet because they identify as men, not women, its harder for them to accept help. I would not want those health risks for my child.

usernameinfinito · 02/07/2017 22:52

I think this is what happens when people do not pay attention to their biology lessons in school. What a load of bovine crap.

Italiangreyhound · 02/07/2017 22:55

"Does it really matter what some people think if the law says differently and ensures that folk have to abide by it?"

It matters to me if protections for women and girls are removed because some men like thinking they are women and girls. It matters hugely. It matters if children are encouraged to use dangerous puberty blockers.

khn.org/news/women-fear-drug-they-used-to-halt-puberty-led-to-health-problems/

There are so many things that I mind about. The law needs to protect people and not endanger them.

Trans people should, of course, have all legal protections. But that doesn't mean denying biology.

Biology is not bigotry.

CherriesInTheSnow · 02/07/2017 22:57

Jesus fuming Christ that is so scary :( fucking hell. It's subtle but it is taking over isn't it. And once again it's the desires of men trumping the rights of women.

Italiangreyhound · 02/07/2017 22:58

Ps I am told, by a transsexual woman I know, that grown up trans kids and genuine transsexual woman are very scared by these changes, which will not help them.

SerfTerf · 02/07/2017 22:59

More batshit than a belfry floor.

VestalVirgin · 02/07/2017 22:59

I think this is what happens when people do not pay attention to their biology lessons in school. What a load of bovine crap.

The fact that many schools in the US don't have proper biology lessons to begin with probably explains why all of the US went gender crazy.

If you don't teach people the actual difference between the sexes because this could cause them to want to have premarital sex, then you're basically stuck with letting them believe that girls are pink and boys are blue and that's the only thing that matters.

VestalVirgin · 02/07/2017 23:01

(I hope that the fact we have proper sex ed here will mean people will wake up a lot sooner, but I am not sure. Have had university students tell me they find it "problematic" to call a penis male.)

ALemonyPea · 02/07/2017 23:03

Who says men have penises?

Erm...biologists?

I identify as a lettuce. I shall be going to Tesco in the morning and demand I lie in the chiller with the other lettuces.

This gender identity stuff is getting weird and a little scary.

bambambini · 02/07/2017 23:05

Maybe we should ask our kids ehat they think, what they are discussing sbout it with friends and reading on line. I imagine it's more a topic amongst teenagers than mums and grans just getting on with it.
