To think it's inevitable that JC will be PM and TM should just let it happen ASAP

They are now pretty much at the same popularity and in the years to come there will be millions more Labour voters and millions of Tory voters that will pass away. It's pretty much a done deal right? So why doesn't TM just go now?

Nonsense

Alltheprettyseahorses · 09/07/2017 10:02

Gentler, kinder politics is obviously doublespeak.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 09/07/2017 10:57

The swingeing cuts haven't felt very kind or gentle to my DD as she loses all her NHS therapies tbh.

makeourfuture · 09/07/2017 11:15

Wow so much right wing propaganda..Tory voters are really shaken up by Corbyn.

Indeed. Just who is girding their loins? The right, instead of taking heed of what has just occurred, is choosing to double down on their ideology.

The left have marched and protested and spoken out on social media, but it has been a peaceful, democratic protest. We voted.

The left has not forged a terrible and morally suspect coalition with the DUP. The left has not bribed and made backroom deals to stay in power.

You guys on the right don't even try and start this ridiculous slandering - OWN YOUR SHAME!

The Tories are constitutionally in power right now. We on the left will peacefully honour that.

But the honourable thing for the Tory cabinet to do right now is to resign en masse. They are hurting the country.

Assuming it is morally suspect, for sake of argument, the only reason Labour aren't doing exactly the same is that they didn't win enough seats to form a government Confused

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 09/07/2017 11:34

the honourable thing for the Tory cabinet to do right now is to resign en masse.

They did.
And then they were voted back in 6 weeks later.

Did you miss the election?

ReleaseTheBats · 09/07/2017 11:38

You guys on the right don't even try and start this ridiculous slandering - OWN YOUR SHAME!

I have no need for any shame, thank you very much. Get off your false moral high horse ffs. If you really believe left wing people are somehow morally superior to rightwing people, then you really need to engage your brain a bit more actively. It's not a very sophisticated political analysis, is it?

As above, claims are slandering only if they are untrue. If you want to refute any of the claims made about JM, please do so. Just calling them ridiculous, slander and rightwing propaganda does not disprove them.

The Tories are constitutionally in power right now. We on the left will peacefully honour that

Most of you will. JM would do otherwise if he thought it would help "the struggle".

BadToTheBone · 09/07/2017 11:51

People generally start off their adult life as idealistic, they see the world very simplistically and see labour as the way forward. As they age and their bank balance rises they, in many cases move to the right and become more conservative. It's just how it is.

It's a sweeping statement but it is true, for many.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 09/07/2017 12:07

Yes ir if they experience hardship and real life they can move left.

strikealight · 09/07/2017 12:45

"You guys on the right " is apparently anyone who doesn't like Corbyn.

brexitstolemyfuture · 09/07/2017 13:13

So left supporters are simple?

Or is it the more personal wealth people aquire the less they like the idea of helping anyone that isn't as fortunate / lucky as them.

Most Tory voters I know won the housing and pension lottery mainly because they were born at the right time.

strikealight · 09/07/2017 13:33

Op, your maturity and ability to understand both the complex and the straightforward shines through from you original post to now.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 09/07/2017 13:58

You're a bit fond of personal attacks tbh.

Hardly the mature high road.

strikealight · 09/07/2017 15:09

The op posted in AIBU - the answer is either Yes, you are being unreasonable or No, you are not being unreasonable.
Yes, op is being unreasonable. Or is that too personal?

makeourfuture · 09/07/2017 15:36

They did.
And then they were voted back in 6 weeks later.

Resign. Their seats. They have done enough harm. It is the honourable thing.

strikealight · 09/07/2017 15:39

Resign? Cos you don't like them?I don't like them either but skweeming and skweeming until I am sick, isn't how our electoral system works.

makeourfuture · 09/07/2017 15:57

skweeming and skweeming until I am sick, isn't how our electoral system works

Indeed.

But the Tory's fate is set now. They have failed at everything they have touched. Their trajectory is downward and accelerating.

It would be the honourable thing to do.

mateysmum · 09/07/2017 17:08

"It would be the honourable thing to do"

No it wouldn't. It would be a betrayal of the democratic will of the people.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 09/07/2017 18:54

Resign. Their seats. They have done enough harm. It is the honourable thing.

They did!

They all did - every single member of parliament did.

They were democratically voted back in again - that's how it works.

Are you familiar with UK democracy?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 09/07/2017 19:02

makeourfuture Confused don't be so ridiculous.

makeourfuture · 09/07/2017 19:10

Let me be clearer. They should find another line of work. They are failing at their current roles. They are doing terrible damage to this country. It is the honourable choice.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 09/07/2017 19:19

Let me be clearer. They should find another line of work. They are failing at their current roles. They are doing terrible damage to this country. It is the honourable choice.

If only that pesky electorate didn't keep voting them back into a job...

Do you really not understand how our democracy works, or are you just messing?!

They all give up their jobs as Members of Parliament, and it's entirely up to the electorate who gets their jobs back & who doesn't.

strikealight · 09/07/2017 19:23

As pp has said: All MPs resigned and many were reelected. Does the democratic will of the people who voted for them not count because they disagree with you. How do you propose to enforce your will on this?
P.s. Jc and honour are not exactly happy bedfellows.

makeourfuture · 09/07/2017 19:25

Again, if you are not up to the job, you should stand down.

strikealight · 09/07/2017 19:29

Jc voted against or not his party so many times over the years, if it was so revolting to him, he should have resigned and joined Galloway or whoever. But no, that wouldn't be a cushy number on expenses for all these years. Honour?
