I've seen loads of threads on here lately with people questioning how people can be a certain dress size at a certain weight.

I'm really interested to se how much it can vary from person to person and if people who are the same weight and height could be completely different dress sizes as I suppose muscle mass is a factor too.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

I'll start it off:

Height: 5ft 4.5
Weight: 8 stone 12 lbs
Dress Size: 10

5'7" 10 stone size 14. There are some strange dress sizes out there. Sometimes I am a 12 but I think some shops try and flatter people

UnderslungBowlingBall · 01/07/2017 23:01

5'7"
14st give or take
Anywhere from 12 to 22 top (bloody primark), 36 31 in jeans, 14 in leggings and 14 or 16 in skirts.

Bloodybridget · 01/07/2017 23:13

Groupie I was born in 1954. I remember the measurements for a size 14 then were 34" bust, 24" waist, 36" hips. Generally, shops didn't sell above a 16, over that and you had to go to an outsize store. I was overweight from early teens and I struggled to find clothes.

dontcallmelen · 01/07/2017 23:17

Late fifties
4ft 11"
45-47kilos
Waist 25" hips 34" but large chest 32e so chest is out of proportion for my frame.
Usually a 4-6 for bottom half & 8-10 on top.
Have been this size/weight since I was a teenager & fitted a size ten in those days, so something very odd going on with current clothing sizes.

clothing varies depending on what it is. Dresses and tops I'm US 18/20 UK 22/24, I can fit into US 20 jeans but am more comfortable in US 22. Once I'm back down to my usual weight - I gained weight due to a medication I couldn't avoid taking and then a major surgery that had me sedentary for two months - I'll weigh about 12 stone and fit in US 12 jeans.
