So out of a family of 4 we have various versions of this.

AIBU to think I am right?

Me: 2 rashers of bacon, a sausage, a potato cake, fried egg, grilled tomato and mushrooms.

DH: 2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, slice of black pudding, 2 potato cakes, scrambled eggs, beans

DSD: 2 potatoes cakes, poached egg, bacon and beans

DS: toast, beans, scrambled eggs, 3 potato cakes and 2 sausages

Over to the MN jury...which breakfast would you have?

Well I think this thread illustrates that there is not one English breakfast or Scottish or Welsh or Irish etc, even within those categories there is lots of variation.

I think of all of them as being essentially the same with a bit of regional/personal variation.

I just think it's a bit silly to insist on the differences when there are more similarities. But people can call it what they want of course Smile

Cross post, mine was in reply to AndTake

PyongyangKipperbang · 29/06/2017 03:10

I would be happy with this except that they have overcooked the bottom and undercooked the top so it is all snotty [vom]

PyongyangKipperbang · 29/06/2017 03:12

I remember being in a hotel in Llandudno and being offered a full English or a full Welsh breakfast. It turned out that the Welsh breakfast had an extra egg. Confused

spamm · 29/06/2017 03:23

For me it would be:

2 poached eggs
2 sausages
2 slices of bacon
Fried mushrooms
Grilled tomato
Soda farl
HP sauce
Pot of team
The Archers Omnibus

We try and recreate that most Sundays here in Virginia. a little corner of England/Britain in our lives (usually minus the sausages). DS loves it although he is very American.

AndNowItIsSeven · 29/06/2017 03:25

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheTimeGoes · 29/06/2017 08:02

Neither of my DCs will eat a cooked breakfast. One will eat a bacon sarnie, the other won't even eat that. So we virtually never have them Sad

SheSaidHeSaid · 29/06/2017 08:08

2 sausages, bacon (preferably streaky), fried egg, beans and mushrooms. White toast and butter on the side.

Buttered toast
