We live in a close of four houses on side of the road- it's literally our road and then the houses on the right hand side. Driveways can take 2 cars in all 4 houses.

Neighbour knocked earlier today to say they are going on holiday until Friday. Neglected to mention that family were coming and leaving their cars here.

Anyway one of these said cars is blocking DHs car in. We cannot get it out without me reversing mine, clearing some junk out of the garage so he can drive in to reverse sideways into my space and out.

Garage is full of shit. It's stuff we can't store in the house because it's damp etc.

AIBU to consider hiring a tow truck to get the car moved?? I'm going to have to take DH to work for 6am now Angry

You could set fire to the car OP, and then point out to the owner that if it hadn't been so badly parked the fire engine could have got a lot nearer and extinguished the flames much more quickly.

HappyFlappy · 28/06/2017 12:14

Oh Toothfairies - of course you can't concentrate on Real Life with this Car of Damocles hanging over you.

Here - sit down and have a cuppa tea. There's ginger biscuits if you want one.

We'll wait out these lonely hours together

IsabelleSE19 · 28/06/2017 12:26

Never apologise for starting a parking thread OP!

ManyManyShoes · 28/06/2017 12:33

It is not your neighbours car so get it towed and look innocent when they come back and tell them you thought it belongs to some stranger.

K1092902 · 28/06/2017 12:45

Sorry everybody!!! Had a really busy morning.

Police non emergency didn't seem arsed- I called at 1am and they said someone would be out within 3 hours. Explained I was going to bed and would call back this morning. Did so at 9am and DSD waited in all morning for someone to turn up- and they still haven't.

It's an absolute pain in the arse. DSD has had to take the day off work, DD wasn't happy that I made her walk to nursery and DH was even less impressed that he had to drive mine and DSDs pink Fiat to work this morning Grin

Tried calling their mobiles and they are switched off. Neighbours don't have Facebook etc and don't know their families to know names to search for them.

DDog took a shit in the back garden earlier and I'm tempted to go and smear it on their windows....Grin

Try the council - some are only too happy to come and slap a ticket on these cars and get them towed as they get the revenue from the charges!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/06/2017 12:56

Ime unless cars are parked on double yellows the council or police aren't interested.

How annoying!!

SheSaidHeSaid · 28/06/2017 12:57

Any chance of a diagram? Wink

I can't picture how their car is blocking you in to your drive and it really would help plus it's mumsnet law

K1092902 · 28/06/2017 12:58

Flipping eck. I'm really going to have to show off my rubbish art skills aren't I Sad

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 28/06/2017 13:01

Set fire to it

ohhereweareagain · 28/06/2017 13:07

Diagram pls Easter Smile

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 28/06/2017 13:12

Well yes OP you are, as you well know all parking threads require a diagram...

MrsHathaway · 28/06/2017 13:15

Waiting patiently for diagram, although I think it's pretty obvious.

What arses. For general happy neighbourly relations I'd go for the least confrontational method possible, but you can't have your car stuck for days/weeks.

But give them both barrels (hurt/disappointed) when they get back.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 28/06/2017 13:16

Take the number plates off. Chuck them in their garden. Phone the council/police again about an abandoned car that is blocking your access to your property. Job done.

Oh, and have a few words with the neighbours when they return from wherever they are on holidays. Completely not acceptable.

Inaquandrydm · 28/06/2017 13:17

Have it towed and post the bill though neighbour's door. .

RebootYourEngine · 28/06/2017 13:20

Your neighbours are selfish.

Yukbuck · 28/06/2017 13:27

Wow how selfish are some people. Hope you get it sorted op. Yes to calling the council. I have a neighbour who will call them to slap tickets on cars on our road all the time.

AppleJacques · 28/06/2017 13:37

QOD that really made me laugh after a shitty morning :)

Hope you get it sorted OP, they sound like right twunts.

chirpyburbycheapsheep · 28/06/2017 13:40

Some builders parked in front of my neighbour's drive the other week, blocking their car in. A tow truck arrived to take it away. Followed by the police who were called by aforementioned builders. Cue a bit of an argument but I did hear the policeman say that the neighbour was in the right and the builders backed down and car was taken. I think it is an issue for the council. Though I'm in London and the parking people are hardcore here, they have eyes everywhere.

SparklyMagpie · 28/06/2017 14:07

What a pain in the arse...i do need to see this diagram though!

ToothFairiesHaveNoChange · 28/06/2017 14:23

HappyFlappy

Fletchasaurus · 28/06/2017 14:44

Not placemarking for diagram at all.... Grin

youaredeluded · 28/06/2017 15:37

Diagram and updated need :p I am angry on your behalf.

Oldraver · 28/06/2017 15:38

Just seen you have a Fiat 500.....discard what I said about sand under the offending car wheels and pulling it forward
