We live in a close of four houses on side of the road- it's literally our road and then the houses on the right hand side. Driveways can take 2 cars in all 4 houses.

Neighbour knocked earlier today to say they are going on holiday until Friday. Neglected to mention that family were coming and leaving their cars here.

Anyway one of these said cars is blocking DHs car in. We cannot get it out without me reversing mine, clearing some junk out of the garage so he can drive in to reverse sideways into my space and out.

Garage is full of shit. It's stuff we can't store in the house because it's damp etc.

AIBU to consider hiring a tow truck to get the car moved?? I'm going to have to take DH to work for 6am now Angry

Do you have a number for them?

GlitteryFluff · 28/06/2017 09:22

I like peuk's idea.

Jack each wheel. Skate under.
Move the car to somewhere more convenient.

Like in another street on someone else's drive. Grin

PyongyangKipperbang · 28/06/2017 09:29

The skates are only ok if you have several very strong people to keep it under control and dont live on a hill, otherwise it could get very messy indeed!

WutheringTights · 28/06/2017 09:29

If they're causing an obstruction could emergency services get past? I'd call the police and get it towed.

Aebj · 28/06/2017 09:34

I like the idea of a car being skated to another road!!!

Scottishchick39 · 28/06/2017 09:38

Have you any way of contacting them? Perhaps they're on Facebook and you can message.

StaplesCorner · 28/06/2017 09:38

as i understand it whilst police wont intervene if you are blocked out, they will if you are blocked in

Oldraver · 28/06/2017 09:43

Next door went on holiday with the nose of their car right up to the garage door (they had lost the key) with our cat inside.

OH put sand under the wheels of the car and pulled it forward

HappyFlappy · 28/06/2017 09:46

The car has obviously been abandoned. It may even have been stolen.

The council or police need to get onto it THIS MINUTE. Give them the reg, tell them it's causing an obstruction and emergency services can't get through if needed, and they will (hopefully) contact the owner and tell them to get it shifted.

Otherwise, traditional MN revenge activities include:

  1. vaseline under the door handles

  2. bag of dog poo up the exhaust pipe

  3. letting down the tyres (a spent matchstick in the valve thingy means that you don't have to stand beside the car door an hour)

4)birdseed/bread scattered o the car roof.

Also - I would like a diagram, too. Stick figures are fine. Colour is optional.

(WhenI saw your title, I thought at first you were apologising for posting a parking thread - please don't EVER feel that you have to do that Grin)

HappyFlappy · 28/06/2017 09:47

Thank heavens your cat was okay Raver. Had s/he been trapped for long?

ShatnersWig · 28/06/2017 09:49

YABVU to not have come back and told us what happened when you rang the non-emergency police.

Shadow666 · 28/06/2017 10:06

Is it an old car? Maybe you can break in an take off the handbrake.

BlackeyedSusan · 28/06/2017 10:08

oh come back Op and tell us what is happening....

HotelEuphoria · 28/06/2017 10:09

OK, well if it were me I would take lots of pictures, I would clear some crap out of the garage and take some more pictures, I would move DH car into the garage and take some more pictures then some move getting off the drive.

I would then park DH's car on neighbours drive until they came home on Friday.

I would then present them with all the pictures and ask them WTF they were playing at.

Oldraver · 28/06/2017 10:12

Happy..No it was literally just a few hours after they had left. We could get food and water under the door but didnt want them to come back to weeks of cat poo .....plus the cat wanted out Grin

ophiotaurus · 28/06/2017 10:30

I need to know!

Funnyface1 · 28/06/2017 10:43

I think op has taken matters into her own hands and been arrested! Op, where are you?

FuckingSausageFingers · 28/06/2017 10:43

Bloody hell op, you've got a nerve posting a parking thread without a diagram! Who the hell do you think you are?!! I don't know how you've got this many replies, quite frankly.

not place marking at all

Seeline · 28/06/2017 10:47

Are your two cars parked next to each other?
Surely if you can get yours of the drive, then with a lot of forward/reversing your DH could get his off the drive without the garage space?
Then park one of yours on the empty space on your NNs drive.

Goingtobeawesome · 28/06/2017 11:06

Time to raise bail money?!

BitOutOfPractice · 28/06/2017 11:09

You are being very cruel. I can't get on with my day until I know what's happening. Grin
