So bringing up a child alone isnt a lot of work in itself?

Just been reading the benefit cap thread where someone said that people sit on their arse and still get 20 grand a year.

Im a single mum abd i do work but bringing up kids is the most important job ever ( but only if your middle class sith a rich dp it would seem. If your single then how dare you have kids in the first place )

Not rtft but to answer the op, it is because they are lacking intelligence.

It is only couples that are given the choice of benefits to facilitate the choice of a sahp when children are school age with absolutely no obligation to seek work. And pre school age a single parent is only entitled to the same income support a couple below the breadline are.

Very few people object to a couple with only one ft worker having kids, even though they are just as likely to be 'scrounging' as a single parent. No doubt thats because anything more complex than the daily mail is beyond their comprehension.

So if a mum can't find work would you just let the kids starve if the mum can't claim benefits *rainbows? . Ot do you mean they should move onto JSA after maternity leave?

A lot of domestic abuse starts AFTER the woman is pregnant. Getting the woman pregnant asap means they are trapped forever.

After reading the last few posts it seems to me that poor people shouldn't have children either.

What's the financial threshold for being allowed to have children please?

Also I don't think people realise that the benefits are there for the CHILDREN. So that they have a roof over their head and food in their belly - if a child is born into an abusive or feckless family it isn't their fault. Should they become homeless?
