People's Assembly

For those of us who are sick and tired and angry and devastated.

Who loves Bill?

Shhhhhh. I think we can turn him....

BillSykesDog · 16/06/2017 11:37

You are comparing people being angry on social media to people ACTUALLY euthanising kids like mine?

No I'm not. I'm comparing the behaviour of the Nazis in the 1930s (when they weren't euthanising anybody) to the behaviour of far left activists at the moment.

If you'd said to most Germans in 1933 that the Nazis intended to put Jews, gay people and disabled children into gas chambers they wouldn't have believed you. They would probably have said 'Oh sure, they have some anti-Jewish and disabled slogans but they wouldn't go that far. Don't be silly'.

A bit like people who talk about 'die Tory scum' and stripping their political opponents of votes do now.

There were also hung elections in Belgium in 2007, no government whatsoever in 2010-2011, a hung parliament in Ireland last year and ongoing minority government with minor parties itching to get a favourable poll and collapse it all. Just two examples from the last decode of two of the UK's nearest neighbours.

Modern Western democracy has dozens upon dozens of analogues for the present political crisis.

Leaping straight to comparisons with the Nazis is always, always deeply revealing of nothing so much as an incredibly shallow understanding of both politics and history.

But by all means continue to embarrass and discredit yourself.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 16/06/2017 11:39

the last decade.

BigYellowJumper · 16/06/2017 11:40

bill

No, they are not using the same tactics.

They are having a peaceful protest AS IS THEIR DEMOCRATIC RIGHT.

You could say 'don't have that protest' but that would be a bit like the nazis.

makeourfuture · 16/06/2017 11:40

Come on home Bill. You are welcome here. It will all be clear, and wonderful.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 11:41

Bill I'm guess you just be frothing by now but if you can still hear. The message is for the many. For me that includes all my Tory friends and my liberal ones and my couldn't care less ones.

Rounding up my friends. Right. OK

BigYellowJumper · 16/06/2017 11:41

holdmecloser Exactly.

BillSykesDog · 16/06/2017 11:42

Can you point out where in Ireland and the Netherlands there is an extreme protest group whose sole aim is overturning the election result for the one they want?

explodingkittens · 16/06/2017 11:42

Stripping people of votes? What, like the Tory mp who doesn't want students voting cos, you know, they vote the 'wrong way'?

Actually, fuck this, I'm not descending to your level. Say what you like, think what you like, post what you like. It's a free country bill (despite your nazi fantasies).

You've shown yourself for what you are, I'm happy to walk away from you. Very fucking far away.

MyBeloved · 16/06/2017 11:43

I don't think Bill is discrediting herself.

Maybe people should stop and take notice. Some of us have recognised the parallels for some time.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 11:43

Well the election result will be overturned I think..

By the next election result!

frenboop · 16/06/2017 11:44

I think this protest will turn the public's opinion away from Momentum actually so I am more than happy for them to have it Grin

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 11:47

Christ have you even been to a momentum meeting. I am not on their Christmas list but this is bonkers

Why havent you been saying anything for the past year then? I have by the way but not this Batshit. It's because it's challenging something you want isn't it

I don't think Bill is the sharpest tool in the box. Today some of us are remembering Jo Cox, a good woman who was killed by someone who was a Nazi. Making inflammatory remarks about people with whom you disagree politically being Nazis is at best unhelpful.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 11:52

Bill I feel really sorry for you

frenboop · 16/06/2017 11:52

I am not sure whether I agree totally with Bill but I certainly find the fascist way that the left in this country act and speak - starting at the bottom with virtue signalling on social media and ending up with protests against democracy - is very worrying. Not being able to disagree without death threats is quite terrifying to me.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 16/06/2017 11:52

It's not an "offended stick" FFS. I was genuinely upset to read that.

Offended stick. Bloody hell.

frenboop · 16/06/2017 11:53

everyone should question EVERYTHING

This blind worship and adoration of JC is really, really bizarre.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 16/06/2017 11:54

fucks sake

what on earth will this achieve other than stressing bereaved and devastated people

do you actually think this will generate anything positive

Oh and don't you think the police have got better FUCKING BETTER ISSUES TO DEAL WITH? like the terror threat

shame on you

notknownatthisaddress · 16/06/2017 11:56

Another bunch of yobs who don't like democracy.

I think I will swerve this.
