Because of his terrorist links. That's pretty strong stuff! In today's telegraph. Behind a paywall though but the first few paragraphs are visible.

No tigershark I dont think you are the 5% I don't care if you are or not and so sorry for typo beforehand. I like 100%/ of the population are not perfect. But whatever you do dont insult my intelligence on the basis of a typo.

bigmack · 08/06/2017 12:22

I have no idea what stormfront is. Sounds like a double glazing company.

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 12:23

Top - what's not to believe? He probably wouldn't get clearance to work for mi5 etc! There is no vetting procedure for MPs and he's on the privy council because he's leader of the opposition, perfectly possible he hasn't been through any formal vetting procedure - it doesn't look like there is one - even if he were to become PM.

FannyWisdom · 08/06/2017 12:24

Do you mean the far right white supremacist Stormfront?

OutToGetYou · 08/06/2017 12:26

My ex has DV clearance and he's a member of UKIP who posts nasty stuff all over social media - shows what bloody use it is, doesn't it!

Dullboringusername · 08/06/2017 12:28

Schroedinger's Terrorist what a fabulous description even better than knitted dinosaur it astounds me how blind Corbynistas are. Is the promise of ham today bigger tomorrow so powerful?

Sorry, I can't make head nor tail of this post, so I might be reading it wrongly, but it sounds to me as though you think 'Schrödinger's Terrorist' is a criticism of Corbyn.....

bigmack · 08/06/2017 12:28

There's nothing on the BBC website about it. I can't see any reference to the Mi6 story on the BBC website either. Anyone would think people were trawling the internet to find dirt to throw at him. Hmm

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 12:31

I do not trust him to act in our best interests. Bassed on his record, I believe there are circumstances in which he would not have our safety as his top priority.

He certainly didn't put much effort into campaigning for remain. If he really believed in it he should have showed a united front with the other remainers, but he couldn't bring himself to share a platform with Cameron. He did feel comfortable in inviting Gerry Adams to parliament shortly after the Brighton bomb though.

You're really struggling to find actual facts to discredit JC with aren't you op?

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 12:33

Bbc aren't allowed to report election stuff on Election Day - you won't find lots of things there today.

OP posts:
bigmack · 08/06/2017 12:34

Fair enough - it's not headline news on the Telegraph though is it? I've looked twice now and can't see it.

gillybeanz · 08/06/2017 12:35

I don't know which is sadest, the extent to which they don't want Corbyn and are frightened, or the fact that people will believe any old shit that's spouted.

chinlop · 08/06/2017 12:37

Whats scary is how many of the public are so willing to accept his dangerous views

And what are those? Any direct quotes of his "dangerous" views?

OlennasWimple · 08/06/2017 12:39

So much rubbish on this thread!

The IRA aren't a problem any more? Go tell that to the people who have been shot, threatened or had bombs planted on their property in the last few years Hmm

Maria Gatland is a Tory councillor not an MP

Pp might be interested in this anecdote about the Privy Council's discrimination based on religion...

And this includes pertinent details about the vetting (or lack of) for MPs and judges

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 12:40

Actual facts to discredit him. Ok.

  • has chosen McDonnell, thorn berry and Abbott to hold the most senior positions.
  • failed to fight brexit
  • terrorist sympathiser (I know you don't believe it, but the evidence is all there.)
  • has not supported antiterrorism legislation
  • does not have the support of most of his own MPs, including v respected people like yvette cooper
  • bribing the electorate with unaffordable things like removing tuition fees.

OP your biased and it's clear how your voting Look at your sources It's laughable

Charmageddon · 08/06/2017 12:44

Corbyn went to peace talks

Which ones?

Isn't one of the Tory MPs an actual ex IRA member?

No.

Don't forget that Margaret T sat down to tea and scones with Augusto Pinochet. John Major was in secret talks with Gerry Adams and T Blair sat in a desert tent with Muammar Khadafi. All political leaders, all consorting openly with terrorists.

'Political leaders' being the key phrase.

Leaderwithsoul · 08/06/2017 12:45

No one of the councillors is.

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 12:46

If by biased you mean I've decided who to vote for and its not corbyn then yes! I guess you are biased too if you've chosen to vote for a particular person.
I know where my sources are from too.

Last minute desperation from the Torygraph. What a surprise...

OlennasWimple · 08/06/2017 12:48

Why is the Telegraph running this article by Richard Dearlove? Because British politics - on the surface at least - doesn't go in for the ad hominem attacks that are common in places like the US. They are also running an article by T May herself (also behind a paywall though....) today.

For comparison, on the last Presidential polling day in the US I watched a two minute TV advert featuring a blonde middle aged woman in a "pant suit" smashing up a computer with a big hammer, while a voice intoned over the top that Hillary Clinton hid her secrets, has blood on her hands and as president would lead to more deaths of US citizens. Today's Telegraph article is pretty tame in comparison

lubeybooby · 08/06/2017 12:49

former mi6... well maybe but I think you also mean 'desperate terrified tory'

Hmm

Bunnyfuller · 08/06/2017 12:51

There's loads of different levels and compartments of security vetting. What a load of bollocks. Even TM or the Queen don't have ALL of them. 'Wouldn't pass vetting' which specific ones? I was in mil intel for 20 yrs and it just doesn't work like that!!!

You can't make your candle shine brighter by blowing others out.

thinkiamgoingcrazy · 08/06/2017 12:53

Sounds like the former head of MI6 has been paid off by Nick Timothy et al.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 08/06/2017 12:54

I have to say I'm loving that anything negative about the Tories is swallowed wholeheartedly and yet anything about that nice Mr Corbyn is universally accepted as bollocks.

It would be great for people to apply a little critical thinking to all parties.

And of course the Tories are the ones on here accused of swallowing any old shit Grin
