Because of his terrorist links. That's pretty strong stuff! In today's telegraph. Behind a paywall though but the first few paragraphs are visible.

AramintaJolly · 08/06/2017 09:46

It's bullshit, he's already been vetted as leader of the opposition

ghostyslovesheets · 08/06/2017 09:47

God they are desperate Grin

waitforitfdear · 08/06/2017 09:49

Well I have already voted Tory but that sounds ridiculous. He's come on a lot though Grin

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 10:00

MPs don't go through any sort of vetting process. I just looked on Parliament website.

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 10:04

Well, I guess if you have huge experience of national security and you consider someone to be dangerous and deeply unsuitable to be pm you would be pretty desperate to ensure that didn't happen. Or do you think we shouldn't be told about who we are voting for?

No offence to the doubters but the guy who wrote the article is vey well informed on the rules and regulations - most people already agree that JC is a liability anyway!

I hope that I see the back of him tomorrow!!!!

Missingthepoint · 08/06/2017 10:11

Have you considered the political leanings of the owner of that publication?. As I was taught as a historian, when considering any source material be aware of any bias in the writer.

FannyWisdom · 08/06/2017 10:12

Is Boris still in charge of Mi6?

Fortnum · 08/06/2017 10:15

As someone who had at one point Security Clearance i would hazard a guess he would struggle to gain DV Clearance with his vocal support for Hammas and the IRA

millymae · 08/06/2017 10:15

If you believe that, you would believe anything. This election campaign has shown the Tories to be beyond contempt.
I genuinely struggle to see how anyone on Mumsnet apart from the very wealthy with no children can possibly think that they and those close to them will have a better life with a conservative government.

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 10:16

Clearly the telegraph is a Tory paper, everyone knows that! I doubt a labour paper would publish it! Also more likely that a former mi6 head would talk to a 'serious' paper rather than a tabloid. Its not difficult to imagine he'd feel more comfortable talking to the telegraph than the sun (also Tory).
Does that mean what he says isn't true? Do you not believe it?

OP posts:
Neverknowing · 08/06/2017 10:16

Isn't one of the Tory MPs an actual ex IRA member?

Neverknowing · 08/06/2017 10:17

Corbyn went to peace talks because he believed fire with fire doesn't work and that makes him a sympathiser 😂

FannyWisdom · 08/06/2017 10:18

Yeah Never but we don't like to talk about that.

SimpleCreature · 08/06/2017 10:18

He's a member of the Privy Council. He's already been vetted.

Fuck, even I've been vetted.

aginghippy · 08/06/2017 10:18

Does that mean what he says isn't true?

It's not true or false, it is his opinion.

Smellbellina · 08/06/2017 10:19

I don't believe him.

QuiteLikely5 · 08/06/2017 10:20

Hopefully he will resign tomorrow and we will not have to tolerate his ridiculessness any more!

He has been such an embarrassment to the Labour Party - most people want him gone!

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 10:20

Millymae, it's a short term vs long term thing. In the short term the idea of free tuition, more money for schools etc would benefit my family. But long term when Corbin has spent all the money and borrowed our children will have to pay it back, and from a trashed economy.

OP posts:
WalkingOnLeg0 · 08/06/2017 10:20

We already knew of his links to terrorists, its been public knowledge for decades. Whats scary is how many of the public are so willing to accept his dangerous views. I guess all the free money he is planning on handing out is buying a lot of acceptance.

FannyWisdom · 08/06/2017 10:21

Tell that to the lefty fuckers who keep voting him to lead the party Quite

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/06/2017 10:21

It would be quite nice if the smear campaign were to stop. Shows how desperate the Tories are, they'd rather talk about anything other than Theresa May.

pinkpanda101 · 08/06/2017 10:21

The author of this article:
Sir Richard is a signatory of the Henry Jackson Societyy_ principles.[9] He is also a "senior advisor" to the Monitor Group – a consultancy and private equity firm which has been implicated in undertaking PR work for Libya and Muammar Gaddafi.

Chaotica · 08/06/2017 10:22

The Telegraph are clearly desperate. He has been vetted. End of.
