Because of his terrorist links. That's pretty strong stuff! In today's telegraph. Behind a paywall though but the first few paragraphs are visible.

BertrandRussell · 08/06/2017 11:46

Is it any point saying in this company that Corbyn does not "support terrorist atrocities"? No-thought not.

TigerShark · 08/06/2017 11:48

@Sostenueto Not pedantic at all - globally renowned international peace prize vs. award set up by a small British organisation, an award that most people have never heard of before.

christinarossetti · 08/06/2017 11:48

That's an interesting view sittin. JC has been very central to the Labour campaign and manifesto. He's debated publicly and been interviewed often. He's championing a fully costed, coherent manifesto.

TM. Not so much. She called this election with no coherent policies, no coherent plan for Brexit, no costed manifesto and won't debate with other leaders or be interviewed one to one because she's so incapable of answering questions or thinking on her feet.

She was Home Secretary for 6 years and PM leading to the state the UK is in. It's interesting that you see her as competent.

This election campaign has shown the Tories to be beyond contempt.

This.
I was in the US the week before their election and was horrified and disgusted by the campaigns there. Smugly thought how proud I am to be British and how we don't stoop to that sort of thing.
Here we are six months later.....Angry

Sostenueto · 08/06/2017 11:49

Bertrand don't bother people on this thread are not interested in us 95%.

Sostenueto · 08/06/2017 11:50

Well one that May would not get then

Dullboringusername · 08/06/2017 11:50

His views that I disagree with - that we can negotiate with isis. I totally do not trust him to manage the police / armed forces etc. He & McDonnell have previously called for police to be unarmed, mi5 to be disbanded... I think he is naive and McDonnell is even more alarming. I don't trust them to put the safety of our country first.

Sources please: I can't find anywhere where he has said that we should negotiate with Isis, but even if he has I'd be interested to the full context of these remarks. It is only by negotiation that peace will come.

I can't find anything about him supporting the disbanding of MI5 either. I can find a lot of flannel about John McDonnell (very ill advisedly) posing with a list of demands on which this is included, but no evidence that he actually supports this. Ditto armed Police. I'm sure that, along with the majority of the population and the majority of the police he has no wish to see them routinely armed - I'm on his side here.

TigerShark · 08/06/2017 11:50

@Sostenueto You think I am in the 5%? You've made a bad assumption there. One that is seriously flawed. The only 5% I am in is the lower 5%.

TigerShark · 08/06/2017 11:52

@Sostenueto seriously, did you know what the award was until about five minutes ago? No. You didn't even realise it wasn't the Peace Prize.

InfiniteSheldon · 08/06/2017 11:52

Schroedinger's Terrorist what a fabulous description even better than knitted dinosaur it astounds me how blind Corbynistas are. Is the promise of ham today bigger tomorrow so powerful?

meditrina · 08/06/2017 11:53

Elected officials are not vetted.

And as all security/intelligence matters are conducted at the behest of the government, then they get access to it whether they are suitable or not.

That could present a headache for the Agencies, as they have to balance service to whoever is returned by the electorate with the potential to damage streams of intelligence.

Posts such as leader of the opposition, privy councillor, PM, MP etc do not require security vetting.

Sittinonthefloor · 08/06/2017 11:55

There's no evidence that he had any impact on the Irish peace process whatsoever. He didn't seem interested in meeting the other side either.

Re comparisons with amaerican election, when I see corbyns rallies full of screaming fans who can admit to no flaws in their hero I do indeed see similarities with trump. They've totally swallowed the belief that he will fix everything!

Excatly Sittinonthefloor

He is an agitator on the left of the party there has been for quite some time a few them Livingston is another.

If he can't even bring himself to share a play form with a Tory PM when on the same side but can share platforms with those that openly support terrorism and sit around a table with Hamas and expect Israeli representatives to even though the meeting has no impact on the bringing about peace at all what does that say about him he is a man of peace Hmm

Do people really not question his poor judgement and think he is the right person to sit in meetings with world leaders and security officials really I despair at how people can turn such a blind eye

First time I haven't voted Labour (voted LibDem) and voted in every GE since I was able to I refuse to buy into this changing of history JC is a principled person nonsense

Toptrumps20 · 08/06/2017 12:02

Wow, they must people are really stupid to believe this bullshit. He will have already been vetted. This Sounds quite menacing!

The security services interfering in the political process. [shocked]

Toptrumps20 · 08/06/2017 12:06

The biggest security threat to this country is May. She was woeful as Home Secretary., and she'll be even worse as PM.
She's going to keep cutting police numbers. This puts all of us in danger.

hoddtastic · 08/06/2017 12:07

also been vetted, as a councillor.
Anything dodgy you have no chance (CCJ's etc.)

what tosh, ODFODOP

FlyingElbows · 08/06/2017 12:09

My husband needs security clearance to even use the photocopier at work (obviously his job requires clearance in general) so I seriously doubt that nobody's as much as looked at JC. Just out of interest, my husband is eligible for dual nationality as his father is Southern Irish, so are some of his colleagues. They have been told that if they apply for Irish passports they will no longer be employable.

greedygorb · 08/06/2017 12:10

I'm from NI. From a predominantly unionist background and I appreciate the politicians- both Tory and Labour who had the balls to engage the Republicans in dialogue ove the years. Otherwise it wouldn't just be jihadists we would be worried about now.

Farahilda · 08/06/2017 12:11

National security vetting is required for anyone who needs to see sensitive Government documents, including civil servants, members of the Armed Forces and contractors.

Exceptions are made for MPs, peers and judges, who do not have to be vetted in order to see restricted information “in the course of their normal duties”.

It is quite possible he has never been vetted, and does not need to be.

christinarossetti · 08/06/2017 12:13

It was TM that wouldn't share a platform with other leaders and declined to debate JC one to one.

She did go fawning off to sell arms to Saudi Arabia shortly after the Westminster Bridge attack though.

Toptrumps20 · 08/06/2017 12:14

Surely even Daily Mail readers aren't dumb enough to believe this shitGrin

bigmack · 08/06/2017 12:14

Tigershark - how will the 'nice and kind' individuals be distinguished from the threats?

OohMavis · 08/06/2017 12:15

What a load of old bollocks. Is it election day, by any chance?

Justanotherlurker · 08/06/2017 12:19

Stormfront have come out in endorsement of Corbyn so I presume all the JC fanatics are proud with this.

GingerWh1nger · 08/06/2017 12:21

What a crock of shite! I'm embarrassed that people are even falling for this.. do you honestly believe that an elected prime minister is going to work in terrorists interests? Corbyn lives here, his family and friends live here - they all suffer the consequences of whatever decisions he would make, like the rest of us would!
