All those American and British artists supporting Manchester, where's that fecker Noel Gallagher. Liam has been there for his home city and he's supposed to be the loutish one

Coldplay and Adele are both music I would not listen too but wanted to see both live and they both did put on a good show. Still would not listen but glad I have seen them.

TheWitTank · 05/06/2017 16:34

No teenager is going to be remotely put out that a has-been old indie star from the 90s didn't perform at a concert. The line up was great for Ariana Grande fans which was what the victims were mainly.

Boulshired · 05/06/2017 16:34

Wrong thread ignore please

GinSwigmore · 05/06/2017 16:35

Except...
Going NC means going NC
Committing to prior engagements, in this case a family holiday is not letting people down who've never heard of you

Noel had already said he could not be there.
Even if he was in the UK, who was supposed to broker such a reunion, Chris Martin? Scooter Braun? because passive aggressive digs on social media isn't communication/apology/picking up the phone/asking your brother to show up, is it?

Liam Gallagher did put money where his mouth was by already giving profits from his solo gig at the Ritz to the fund.
Noel does his bit for charity (feel sorry that he/PR felt they had to tweet a throwback photo of his War Child charity contribution: he would have known shit would be thrown in his direction and that he has to defend himself against not showing up somewhere he had neither promised to be nor had an invitation to, is sad).

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/06/2017 16:37

Showed up and played his new single Navy. A tad questionable I'd say.

NotYoda · 05/06/2017 16:37

Livia

Sorry, I didn't mean you

Should have put OP at the top of my post Smile

Ravenblack · 05/06/2017 16:39

Yes it was a spiteful comment. Implying that you would have to be an immature little teen to enjoy this concert.

Very rude and spiteful.

stitchglitched · 05/06/2017 16:40

Liam is using a charity concert to slag off his brother and incite others to join in. I'd say it shows Noel is probably right to be NC.

No worries Yoda

Raven I think you have misinterpreted the comment - you are the one saying about immaturity.

It was aimed at a similar audience to those who went to the AG concert. Justin Beiber, AG, Moley Cyrus, Little Mix... all aimed at pre-teens, teens etc

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/06/2017 16:45

Ravenblack Give it a rest. I'm a 52 year old indie chick. Obviously Ariana Grande, Robbie et al are not my cup of tea musically. Who died and made you the taste police?

I also said I thought they did a good job, if you'd like to brush up your reading skills.

Ravenblack · 05/06/2017 16:47

'52 year old indie chick' oooooookay.........if you say so.

MaybeNextWeek · 05/06/2017 16:49

It was childish of Noel to tweet what he did . I do think multimillionaire Noel could have put their differences aside for one and night and got a private jet to Manchester so they could have belted out Don't Look back in Anger.

Not for Liam, but for the people of Manchester who clearly were hoping for it.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 16:49

Wow Raven are you deliberately trying to be obtuse?

MaybeNextWeek · 05/06/2017 16:49

Liam*

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/06/2017 16:53

I'm on the fence really. Would it have been great if Noel had shown up? Would it have detracted from the purpose of the concert? I'm not sure what I think. Maybe on balance the Oasis reunion is one for another day.

GinSwigmore · 05/06/2017 16:53

I do like it as a single, I do, but Acquiesce might have been better (for its chorus rather than title)
Liam does come across like a child demanding attention from his brother though. He is probably smarting that his birthday greeting went ignored. I feel sorry for their mum.
I think both are talented. That said, I don't have respect for fathers who don't see their kids, whether they were a result of one night stands or not.

Just ignore Livia I am.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/06/2017 16:55

Er, not ignoring you Livia, suggesting you ignore others. Blush

GinSwigmore · 05/06/2017 16:59

Or wonderwall as having Chris Martin singing the choruses on Acquiesce would have been slated too.
I am off to play other half highlights from the whole thing.

Pagwatch · 05/06/2017 17:25

Grin at fucking tool being 'uncalled for'.

He did behave like a fucking tool by posting a series of tweets slagging off his brother and making it all about him/them.

Most adults manage to have strong emotions about their family without having to tweet about it.

Pagwatch · 05/06/2017 17:27

"The whole nation said "Ooh, maybe we have misjudged Liam Gallagher. Ah, wait a minute, perhaps not".

Exactly Tinkly!
