Where's Noel Gallagher?

All those American and British artists supporting Manchester, where's that fecker Noel Gallagher. Liam has been there for his home city and he's supposed to be the loutish one

OP posts:

But it wasn't a concert devoted to Manchester musicians, though, was it? That wasn't the point of it. Ariana Grande shouldn't have been there if so.

If all the Manchester musicians (and let's be fair, most of them live in London and have done since they got their first pay cheque) want to put on a benefit concert then there's absolutely nothing stopping them.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 15:56

You're not from Manchester are you Livia? The Gallagher brothers are folk heroes really.

No I'm not. They might be 'folk heroes' there but if you don't like their music (or the fact they behave like utter dicks) and you aren't from Manchester then there isn't much to like about them

ForalltheSaints · 05/06/2017 15:57

The most important Manchester musician there was Peter Hook, as he was there supporting his daughter who had been at the concert that was bombed. Not because of his music but just as a dad.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 15:58

You know how some people provoke a really strong reaction from deep within? They provoke a really negative reaction in me - no idea why. And their music is depressing as fuck! Grin

seafoodeatit · 05/06/2017 16:00

Where was he? I didn't realise it was compulsory attendance. Wasn't it a benefit concert, with the victims being the main focus, it wasn't an oasis reunion.

NeilYoungCrazyHorse · 05/06/2017 16:00

I nearly started a thread called "Where are Wills, Kate and Harry?"

How come none of them went up to Manchester after the attack or for the gig?

LoveMySituation · 05/06/2017 16:00

Peter Hook was there. That to me is more the spirit of Manchester music than Liam will ever be. Plus he stayed in Manchester..(as did the rest of New Order to be fair)

LoveMySituation · 05/06/2017 16:01

With his daughter of course

Ravenblack · 05/06/2017 16:01

I have to be honest it was a great line up. Not really bothered that Noel G wasn't there; there were plenty of musicians from Manchester who weren't there, so why single him out?

I am actually glad to see a line-up without Adele, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Jess Glynne, and Emilie Sande. I get sick of seeing them/hearing about them. They are all good and quite talented and have released some decent tunes, but are hugely over-rated imo.

And it's a load of shit that the stars were there 'promoting themselves.' All the artists are hugely successful with MASSIVE fan bases; they don't need the publicity. People saying that (and I have heard it from people in real life AND on message forums,) are just jealous and bitter and probably pissed off that they didn't get to go.

My niece went with 7 mates, and all they have had all day from people at work and college is negative responses about the concert and the stars who did it. They are so pathetic and bitter, and clearly jealous.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 16:01

And the fact that the papers are full of 'where was Noel' too is just grim. I thought it was about the victims 🤔

caz323 · 05/06/2017 16:01

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert and as much as I like Oasis, I can't really get upset by the fact that Noel was not in attendance. Though Chris Martin did an excellent job. My question is....what on earth was Robbie wearing??

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/06/2017 16:02

The concert was all about Manchester though Livia.

LoveMySituation · 05/06/2017 16:02

Oops, cross post

IHateUncleJamie · 05/06/2017 16:02

The Queen went. No need for William/Kate and Harry as well - they do plenty of other work.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 16:02

I think they did largely do it so that people would think what awesome stars they were.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 16:03

Tinkly Then why weren't all the acts from Manchester?

HmmOkay · 05/06/2017 16:03

Where were The Cheeky Girls?

That's what I want to know.

fuckwitery · 05/06/2017 16:04

But Livia the concert was for Manchester. Don't look back in anger has become a bit of an anthem around the atrocities.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 16:04

And it is okay not to like Oasis or the Gallagher dickheads brothers

StorminaBcup · 05/06/2017 16:05

William did visit Manchester after the attacks...

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 16:06

Yes the song has been picked up as the lyrics are relevant. Doesn't make the song good or the performers talented. I don't understand why people worship the Gallaghers. That is all

NotYoda · 05/06/2017 16:06

Really?

This is what you choose to get worked up about?

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/06/2017 16:07

The music wasn't my cup of tea (because I'm not a 14 year old girl, and actually at 14, I was more into the likes of Joy Division), but we had it on and, well they all did an amazing job.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/06/2017 16:07

If that was to me, I'm not 'worked up' about it, just a little sad that all people want to know is where Noel was

ItsAMessyLife · 05/06/2017 16:08
