JC calling for TMs resignation

story in The Independent

So Jeremy Corbyn is saying Theresa May should resign as whilst Home Sec she cut 20,000 officers from the police service.

AIBU to think he's got a bloody good point, and it's all very well her pontificating now, saying he's the one not tough enough etc and trying to score points against him, when it could be argued that her actions have made what would already be an awful situation considerably worse??

The NME link seems to be just what the journo reckons Corbyn actually thinks. It's no good citing something he said in 2015 and say oh, we think he meant this while ignoring the fact that what he said in 2015 is what he has said many times. Corbyn's IRA history is also well documented so their attempt at a re-write doesn't hold any water.

They are not selling land they don't use but the actual hospital buildings!

Sostenueto · 05/06/2017 20:18

Not only are they selling buildings and lands but they are advised to do 2 for 1 to get rid quick and they will be sold at a lot less than they are worth. Wonder who will buy it then? Why hasn't May informed the population properly what she intends to do. The NAYLOR report (in caps cos Lord knows you mustn't make a typo on here) is a hell of a long document and perhaps she's hoping people won't bother to read it. In fact no NHS assets should be sold off. The NHS is not in safe hands with the Tories. Grit you can ridicule me if you like but the report is out there and people need to read it before they vote for May.

Corbyn was vice president / chair (?) of CND wasn't he. That well known support group of unilateral disarmament.

Also Emily Thornberry (sorry The Lady Nuggee as can also be known) let slip it would be reviewed immediately on a Labour win.

The nuclear deterrent is not safe with Corbyn. Now it wont deter the suicide bomber (aka the sky fairy obsessed nutter) but Iran, N. Korea, Pakistan and Russia?

As for the NHS - my funding figures upthread still stand. A budgetary increase of 11bn and it is such a tired old mantra about Labour and the NHS that it is parodied in Private Eye as a "brief history of time" - Tony Blair was saying 24 hours to save the NHS in 1997. It has been going 70 years and is still here.

Not only are they selling buildings and lands but they are advised to do 2 for 1 to get rid quick and they will be sold at a lot less than they are worth.

That’s possible. But as trusts will be keeping all the money they raise from these sales, it’s not clear why they wouldn’t want to sell for the highest possible price. From another perspective, you could say that they’re promised an extra pound from the government for every extra pound they push up the sale price.

If I judged labour by their record, I would be sending them to functional skills maths lessons. They spent all the money and assumed all would be well. Markets crashed and they had no contingency. Basic budgetary error. We have been paying ever since. Sack them both.

christinarossetti · 05/06/2017 21:48

This is why Thatcher said that her biggest achievement was Tony Blair.

People believing that 'they isn't any money' or 'they spent it all'.

It's been redirected from useful public services into the pockets of the already rich and powerful.

There's plenty of money, just not in the right hands.

Sostenueto · 05/06/2017 22:04

The trusts that don't want to sell will have funding reduced to them from the government till they sell.

Well what a surprise. The attackers were known to intelligence sources.
