I am so happy he mentioned the Saudi connection and the 'sensitive report'

He's right - as always, and I truly wish we can wake up to hope on June 9.

CivQueen · 04/06/2017 20:44

There's always hope Smile

I'd love for him to be PM next week.

Rhayader · 04/06/2017 20:47

Does this explain why Islamist terrorists attack Belgium, Sweden and Thailand though?

explodingkittens · 04/06/2017 20:49

Yes, he absolutely nailed it and I'm so happy he said it. Now if he would just flag up the Naylor Report as well...

I truly hope that we wake up to a different govt on June 9th. Sadly, I doubt we will, but I have always backed him and am so glad that he is being seen for the good, honest man he is. He has changed the debate, and that is an incredible achievement in itself.

CivQueen · 04/06/2017 20:51

Saudi are funding the spread of extremism in many places, not just us I imagine.

I think he's done amazingly well considering the general public perception of him before the election was called.

witsender · 04/06/2017 20:52

Definitely

Jellykat · 04/06/2017 21:01

He says it like it is, and has been amazingly resilient, and humble..

HoldBackTheRain · 04/06/2017 21:10

His manifesto shows that his policies can only make life better for the most vulnerable and for all of us regarding terrorism.

TM Home Secretary for 6 years, she can't blame JC for extremism. And cuts to policing will bite her on the arse.

Everything feels so awful now and to quote Will from the Inbetweeners, I'm not being dramatic but if TM gets back in on Thursday I can't see any hope anywhere Sad

gillybeanz · 04/06/2017 21:11

Oh I hope so, the alternative doesn't bear thinking about.
I'm terrified of May and her cronies, and can't believe the naivety or stupidity of people who vote conservative.

zen1 · 04/06/2017 21:11

Also agree. He is such a genuine person, I would love him to win.

IDontBowlOnShabbos · 04/06/2017 21:25

A retired senior met police officer has come out and accused Theresa May and Amber Rudd of lying about the number of police. www.google.co.uk/amp/www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/former-senior-met-police-officer-10559169.amp

I really don't get how people can vote Conservative now.

I sort of get the cognitive dissonance in being able to separate themselves from poor/disabled/elderly people and assume that they've done something wrong/it's not as bad as people say. Especially if you haven't seen it for yourself. The media loves to shame people for being poor.

But most Tories want the streets to be safe. Want law and order. Support the police. Now it's all coming out about us funding Terrorist groups and turning a blind eye to British people fighting in places like Syria. Police officers are saying that the Tories are destroying the police and lying to the public. How can they square that?

LauderSyme · 04/06/2017 21:30

Sorry, this is a bit of a derail ... I'll be voting Labour and for the sake of the future direction of our country, and the life chances of the most vulnerable, I really hope they win.
But I have started to worry that if they do win, they will cop the blame for the shit storm that Brexit will inevitably cause.
Our economy is already starting to suffer. Living standards are already being (even more) squeezed. It was the Tories who got us into this Brexit mess and part of me thinks it's the Tories who should be held accountable for its results.
If Labour get into government for the next four years, and the deal we get from the EU is perceived as a bad one, and the UK gets poorer - as I believe it will - it will be framed as the fault of the Labour Party. The Tories will be let off the hook.
Obviously I hate the idea of hard right-wingers negotiating the entire future prospects of our country, whilst being free to dismantle our welfare and civic states. But I do think if Labour win on June 8th, it will be a poisoned chalice, for them and for those of us who support them.

silkybear · 04/06/2017 21:37

A true leader. Like others have said I am terrified of May getting in again. I hope at the 11th hour people are starting to see the truth.

Ginormoustrawberry · 04/06/2017 21:37

gilly you lose any weight in an argument as soon as you call someone who doesn't agree with you naive and stupid!

Spot on from JC.

He's looking more and more prime ministerial by the day.
