Every single song is such a tune

Other bands will be considered for a top three. Backstreet boys and Blue maybe.

I so absolutely and most definitely believed that I was going to marry him and that there would be no obstacle to our love. Ahem.

Maudlinmaud · 31/05/2017 14:22

Yoga I felt that way about Ronan! I would have sold my soul to be his gf.
Can't stand the creep now. I love how people call his wife Sharon when her names Storm Grin

glitterglitters · 31/05/2017 14:23

Oh @YogaAndRum Flowers

It's amazing our belief when we are young that we are absolutely going to marry these stars. I remember that feeling of absolute conviction

I don't even know what I'm having for dinner tonight nowadays. Grin

CaveMum · 31/05/2017 14:25

Utterly devoted Take That fan here (circa 1993) Wink

My bedroom was plastered with Take That and horse posters. I was an avid reader of both Smash Hits and Horse & Pony Grin

QueenMortificado · 31/05/2017 14:29

Who was the other Irish band who aren't boyzone or west life?

Did anyone see The Last Leg the week of the Westminster attack? In talking about claims made by US politicians that London had been "locked down" Alex Brooker said:

"The only people who've ever had this city locked down are Blue."

In a moment of darkness it was a chink of light Smile

@QueenMortificado Bewitched?! Wink Grin

Yabu, BSB and NSYNC are by far superior 😁

Maudlinmaud · 31/05/2017 14:35

Queen from Wikipedia
D-side
Mytown
OTT
Taken
Hometown

No idea who they are. I vaguely remember a few names.

CaveMum this has brought back a vague memory for me. I'm certain I was only allowed Pony magazine not Horse and Pony. Was it 15p cheaper? Maybe Pony didn't have classifieds in the back so teenage girls me couldn't ring up and enquire about 14.2hh for sale? Blush

leccybill · 31/05/2017 14:39

Staunch Take That fan here, but dabbled in a bit of 5ive, O-Town, A1 and N*Sync.

Agree about the Blue album tracks, might have to dig out my All Rise CD tonight.
'Riding round with the top dowwwn, got the city on lockdowwwwn' indeed!

Figgygal · 31/05/2017 14:41

Absolutely no way
Westlife were the kings

squoosh · 31/05/2017 14:46

Westlife were so.............middle aged. No self respecting 14 year old should have been a fan.

YogaAndRum · 31/05/2017 14:48

thank you glitter

It is odd isn't it, the intensity of the teenage belief that we definitely will marry them? And when you look at them as grown ups you can't help but wonder what you saw in them Grin

I remember my cousin phoning the Take That helpline (number advertised on Newsround) when they split up, so distraught she was Grin She also camped in Mark Owen's front garden once but that's a whole other story.

YogaAndRum · 31/05/2017 14:49

yes squoosh. They were the band that the old lady next door liked.

YogaAndRum · 31/05/2017 14:50

Sorry figgy Blush

FuckingSausageFingers · 31/05/2017 14:53

Whoever said New Kids on the Block - they were about a decade earlier (split up in '94) not that I'm old enough to remember

FoofFighter · 31/05/2017 14:55

Look what I found in barnados!! SQUEEEEEEEEE!!

Maudlinmaud · 31/05/2017 14:56

My eldest went to pieces when one direction split. I was like Confused she wasn't rational for weeks. Then I remembered my own reaction to take that's split and empathised. It was really hard going. Parenting is hard.

HelloCanYouHearMe · 31/05/2017 15:00

I loved NKOTB, but agree that they were late 80s/early 90s.

I went to see them at the NEC when I was about 10 and it was AMAZING!!

I still quite fancy Joey McIntyre Blush

Then i moved on to Take That....

ProfessionalCynic · 31/05/2017 15:03

Backstreet Boys
N*Sync
Then a tie between 911 and 5ive I think. I met 911 when I was about 14, in a backstage meet and greet at Wembley Arena. I was taller than them all, haha.

QueenMortificado · 31/05/2017 15:06

Thanks Maud, it was OTT. They came to a shopping centre near me and I met them. Couldn't tell you any of their names though

The life of a boybander! Grin

They really had to tolerate a lot of loony fans didn't they?

KoolKoala07 · 31/05/2017 15:11

gliiters has just reminded me of bbmak! I bloody loved their song, back here.

KoolKoala07 · 31/05/2017 15:11
