Every single song is such a tune

Other bands will be considered for a top three. Backstreet boys and Blue maybe.

Agree! I absolutely love(d) five. In fact I saw them in Falmouth last year!

Maudlinmaud · 31/05/2017 09:25

I was a boyzone fan but that was mid 90s. I thought 5ive had some good tunes but didn't go to see them tour or buy their albums. I probably taped their songs from the radio though. I did that a lot.
Never liked blue.

MargotLovedTom1 · 31/05/2017 09:27

As Long As You Love Me and Everybody by Backstreet Boys are fantastic songs.

HoopsMcCann · 31/05/2017 09:28

YANBU! 5ive were my absolute faves. I still know all the words to every song. My friend used to get frustrated that she couldn't 'rap' along with J's parts.

FlyingElbows · 31/05/2017 09:28

Are five not responsible for the utter stunner that is "I'm lyrically black..."?

glitterglitters · 31/05/2017 09:28

Oh how I cried over boys to Until The Time Is Through in my early teens. Grin

MargotLovedTom1 · 31/05/2017 09:29

And DH, who is an old punk really, loves I Want It That Way Grin.

QueenMortificado · 31/05/2017 09:29

Well they are responsible for "when I flick the switch make your hips wanna dip / I can get you off cos I'm ready and equipped"

SWOON

Aren't backstreet boys officially the most successful boyband of all time? Sure I heard that somewhere.

Palegreenstars · 31/05/2017 09:30

911 were my fave

glitterglitters · 31/05/2017 09:30

@Palegreenstars

This isssss my journeyyyyyyy....

And all the Smash Hits references to "Pint size popstars"

GloGirl · 31/05/2017 09:30

Jonsnowsghost · 31/05/2017 09:32

But what about N*sync?! Bye bye bye, Tearin' up my heart, Girlfriend, Pop...brilliant songs

Edsheeranalbumparty · 31/05/2017 09:33

I came on to say you are wrong and it was the Backstreet Boys, but I see it's already been covered!

Having said that 'Get On Up' is an absolute tune!

absolutelynot · 31/05/2017 09:33

yabu to think overall they were, because we all know it was BSB however they were easily the best british boyband

Maudlinmaud · 31/05/2017 09:34

Awww smash hits the days of innocence and plastering your a4 folder with posters and stickers. Don't see that much these days.

Reow · 31/05/2017 09:34

YABVVVVVU

Easily Backstreet Boys. Even East 17 were miles better than shitty 5ive.

QueenMortificado · 31/05/2017 09:35

Bodyshakin' by 911 is an absolute tune!!

Palegreenstars · 31/05/2017 09:35

@glitterglitters

I was devastated when I realised I'd be too tall for the lot of them

'I'm gonna lovvvve youuuu a little bite moooore'

Is it still cool for the kids to have posters on their wall?

ballerinabelle · 31/05/2017 09:36

5 bad boys with the power to rock you.....

Palegreenstars · 31/05/2017 09:36

Ahhh I forgot about bodyshakin'

Perfection (for 90s pop)

Snap8TheCat · 31/05/2017 09:37

BSB are indeed the most successful boyband of all time.

Sigh

Reliving my youth.

LinaBo · 31/05/2017 09:37

FlyingElbows I'm lyrically blessed! 😂

QueenMortificado · 31/05/2017 09:38

@Reow you take that back right now!

There's also a line by 5ive which is "ain't got no manners cos I eat with my fingers / we can get down and make you grab you by your biscuits"

I think there is no further argument here on their lyrical genius
