To feel the faint stirrings of hope of a Labour victory?

Just that really? We all thought it was a done deal, T May was going to win by a landslide and we'd be crippled by another 5 years of Tory rule.

Fast forward a few weeks and a Labour victory doesn't seem like such a long shot.

AIBU to feel optimistic that Labour genuinely have a fighting chance? At the very, very least it might result in no overall majority, but the ultimate dream of a Labour govt, run by a true socialist isn't as impossible as previously though.

Seems the eu view negotiations with Corbyn much more favourably.

Actually it doesn't surprise me.They know exactly what to expect from him and his team and must be rubbing their hands with glee.

muckypup73 · 01/06/2017 20:33

God could you imagine Boris trying to make Pm???? when she resigns?? and she will do its frightening.

Killdora · 01/06/2017 20:34

ChardonnaysPrettySister as opposed to the woman who can't even go to a one in one debate with Corbyn and has Boris and Davis had he figured out where the EU is yet?

They won't be rubbing their hands together for May and her team because they'll be too busy rolling around on the floor trying to breath through the years of laughter.

Tiredemma · 01/06/2017 20:39

TM has apparently pulled out of speaking on Women's Hour and is sending Justine Greening instead.

Not very good at campaigning is she? Is something going on behind the scenes?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/06/2017 20:40

Well, if they prefer JC and Dianne then they must be treason for that. And it must be because the EU wants the best for the UK.

No, they prefer JC and Dianne because they know the EU will have an easy ride. Otherwise, why prefer them? Because the EU has our best interest at heart?

And I'm a die hard Remainer.

Honestly, take off your rose red tinted glasses.

Handsup · 01/06/2017 20:41

Yes, it seems the more the public see of her the less they like. Lynton Crosby is right having her tucked away.

Handsup · 01/06/2017 20:46

Interesting, JPMorgan claim a left wing coalition will be good for the Pound..www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/thersa-may-tories-losing-good-pound-labour-win-economy-markets-jp-morgan-analysis-a7763596.html

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/06/2017 20:47

It is true we see less of TM.

At the same time the JC adoration in some circles seems to me reaching North Korea worthy levels.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 01/06/2017 20:47

BUT, how can people focus on how "vile" Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott (allegedly) are

They aren't. They are focusing on their ineptitude and incompetence.

TheMonkeyAndThePlywoodViolin · 01/06/2017 20:48

It's the contrast with the nasty Tory politicians you see. Very refreshing.

Morebiscuitsplease · 01/06/2017 20:48

Initially I wasn't too taken with Mr Corbyn but he has grown on me enormously. Their policies are bold but so what the public sector needs. With two children in school, he is the only choice, (Lab second here) to give them a semi decent future. This present government fills me with shame and dread. I am totally appalled by Teresa May's refusal to engage with the public. This does not bode well for Brexit negotiations. How anyone can vote for her frankly astounds me.

TheMonkeyAndThePlywoodViolin · 01/06/2017 20:48

The reason for the adoration.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 01/06/2017 20:49

Are any of you who think Labour and the SNP is some sort of dream team actually in Scotland?

Two4One2017 · 01/06/2017 20:49

tiredemma they are reporting on twitter she told WH 3wks ago it wouldn't be her but someone from the team. So not sure this particular conspiracy works this time.... unlike last night's shouting match!

Two4One2017 · 01/06/2017 20:51

LOL - the EU think JC would be a pushover..... we won't leave the CU, we don't want to leave the SM..... we won't leave without a deal...... we won't leave!

muckypup73 · 01/06/2017 20:52

Does anyone actually think Theresa May wants to lose the election? I dont know why, but I have a feeling she does! and then she will resign? do we think she is going to do it so we can have another vote on Brexit? there is something allvery odd about it.

ArseOfInfinity · 01/06/2017 20:55

Well given the choice I know who I'd rather hammer out a deal with.

A group that has called me names, doesn't even know what they want, changes their minds constantly,m and have messed me about for the last year.

Vs

A new group who speak to me respectfully but are quite clear on what they need exactly from a deal. A group who also will automatically give my citizens rights instead of holding them as bargaining chips.

I mean, how on the hell anyone that voted remain is voting Consetvative I have no idea.

They have stated they are happy to walk away without a deal, everyone knows how much of a financial catastrophe that will be.

They won't guarantee the rights of eu nationals and are treating them like pawns to use.

They are threatening the eu and in general making tits of themselves. If you voted remain you no doubt looked into the economics of it and have realised that they'd don't need us as much as we need them. This approach will get us jack shit.

I don't believe for a second you voted remain and yet are choosing the above things as what you want brexit to look like.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/06/2017 20:55

Why else would they want him, Two?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/06/2017 20:56

I'm sorry, did I miss the bit where Jeremy Corbyn campaigned to stay in the EU?

Aroundtheworldandback · 01/06/2017 20:57

What percentage of people do you think vote for the party who'll leave them better off financially? Or do most people vote for the good of the country? I was a child in the 70's when labour introduced 95% tax for the highest earners. If that happened now (or even close), where do people think that would leave the economy?

ArseOfInfinity · 01/06/2017 20:59

Erm have you read the manifestos?

Jc did actually give a speech about remaining in the right, didn't you watch it? It was quite good.

What relevance does the campaign have to what you want brexit to look like now?

What part of the Tory's approach to brexit meets with your approval, as a remainer?

Because I'm not seeing the appeal to be honest.

MrsKenningtonBag · 01/06/2017 21:00

Their Eu negotiation strategy sounds much preferable, to the IM A Bloody Difficult Woman approach.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/06/2017 21:03

Jeremy didn't go out of his way to campaign to stay during the referendum campaign. I don't really care what's in the manifesto now regarding this. He could have done so much for the remain campaign ad he didn't.

I cannot imaging him and Dianne negotiating their way out of crowded tube train, never mind the EU.

ArseOfInfinity · 01/06/2017 21:11

ChardonnaysPrettySister

So to get this absolutely crystal clear.

You didn't see JC campaigning during the eu referendum, though he did. It wasn't enough, personally for you.

You were so sure you wanted to remain in the eu that his lack of campaigning upset you.

(Never mind that no one saw May except for a couple of bankers Grin)

And so, now you don't care about what the different party's visions of brexit are. At all.

You want to vote for the party that has insulted the institution you wanted to remain in, uses the citizens you wanted to protect as bargaining chips, and wants the hardest, most financially destructive brexit possible.

Vs a the opposition who have been respectful, are already showing signs of having a md wanting a good relationship with the Euro though we are still exiting, aren't using European migrants as pawns and want to retain tariff free access.

That is definitely what you are telling me?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/06/2017 21:12

Tbf going on holiday in the middle of campaigning doesn't exactly show you are fully committed does it?
