Agreed.
Might have been nice if @ArianaGrande had stayed to do the same.

God bless The Queen and her kind heart #StayStrongManchester

So basically he said that Ariana Grande should have stayed to meet the victims?

Fucking hell. I can't imagine what Ariana must be going through after what happened.

But no. Piers Morgan has to make his point.

FFS she tweeted to say she is BROKEN and has no words. How is that self indulgent?!

The poor girl will never recover from this. All anyone will think of when they hear the name 'Ariana Grande' is 'Manchester terrorist attack.' I don't think she is big enough or 'established' enough to weather this either (like Madonna or Gaga or Bieber for example.) She is very new and fresh, and it is very likely this will stall her career. Her UK tour has already been cancelled.

And she may not be a child, but a (23 year old) woman, but she is still young! And this will affect her life for a long time. Several years probably. The lives of the people who lost their loved ones will always be worse than hers will ever be though. Sad

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 25/05/2017 22:06

This woman has done NOTHING wrong.
If you want to look for fault start with the bastard who blew himself and 22 other people to bits down the road from here.
I don't care if it was a 23 year old woman on stage, ice skaters, Paw Patrol or Rolf fucking Harris it is NOTHING to do with them and unless their reaction is to celebrate or perform a similar atrocity then there is sod all fault to be found.

Someone's neighbour doing something weird, a politician fucking up yes then hunt for the details and drag it out, beat it with a stick for a story and gossip but this, no. No.
That's the end of it, there is nothing else.
Fucking hell. FUCKING HELL.

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 25/05/2017 22:07

And yes that is shouting.

StylishDuck · 25/05/2017 22:07

I thought she did more than a single tweets did she not offer to pay for the funerals of everyone who died?

AngeloMysterioso · 25/05/2017 22:08

Jesus Christ he's still going...

stormywaters · 25/05/2017 22:09

Did anyone else see the video of the homeless man who selflessly helped the injured and dying. What a hero. I believe he's going to get a flat and some money to start afresh. I think there was another homeless man who helped as well.

OhMrBadger · 25/05/2017 22:10

She'd be damned if she did and damned if she didn't. I wouldn't be surprised if, as well as covering the funeral costs, she made contact with those affected at a later date.

I do wonder who leaked the news that she has offered to cover those costs, though?

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 25/05/2017 22:10

Yes stormy and I have already seen people on here call him disgusting for discussing what he did.

Smellbellina · 25/05/2017 22:13

Her management did release a statement the day after.
Unfortunately not well publicised

Because it struck me as odd that the Queen would visit the wounded fans & not the star who they had paid to watch.

OP posts:
limitedperiodonly · 25/05/2017 22:14

How would a pop star visiting her fans who were injured coming to see her be more of a security problem than the Queen?

I'm amazed and shocked she didn't turn up. I thought it might be because the people in hospital were so badly injured that she was advised that her presence would be unhelpful. And yet today I saw footage of Liz chatting to the casualties.

That was exactly the right thing to do but how much more thrilling would it have been for people to meet their pop idol?

She's 23 years old. She's not a child. Malala was 13. I'm breaking the habit of a lifetime and agreeing with Piers Morgan.

Hassled · 25/05/2017 22:16

I feel desperately sorry for her. She's young, she's lived in a gilded bubble - I don't know how she'll begin process the awfulness and the fact they were there to see her, that she got them there. I read an interview with The Eagles of Death Metal after Bataclan - they really, really struggled.

nancy75 · 25/05/2017 22:17

The queen has her own dedicated security team & the queen hasn't just been involved in a terrorist attack

Orlantina · 25/05/2017 22:18

thought it might be because the people in hospital were so badly injured that she was advised that her presence would be unhelpful

You don't think that being the star of a concert where people have come to see you and who have then be killed because someone targeted them specifically might have an effect on her?

It's not like there was an accident at the event. It was targeted. Her fans were targeted. That's got to affect you.

OP posts:
OhMrsQ · 25/05/2017 22:18

Thinking about it, if I was in a hospital bed after that bombing, the last person I would want to see is the star I was seeing that night. It would bring back all the memories of terror.

And yes, the poor girl can't win either way. Piers Morgan is an odious little cunt. Vile little phone hacker.

I saw something online today, an article someone put on facebook, I think was from The sun. It was an interview with a man who 'comforted dying Saffie'. The whole interview was about HIM and how courageous HE was. Fucking awful.

Fruitcorner123 · 25/05/2017 22:19

All I mean is that her mum's response is not the same as her response they are separate adults. I don't particularly think there is anything wrong with her response and i don't agree with Piers' first comment as I can imagine that whatever she did stay/go, tweet/stay silent she would be criticised. However I find it wrong that people keep calling her a poor girl. I do think posters should stop calling her a 'girl' of course she is upset and traumatised but she is not a child and capable of responding in her chosen way which is her responsibility not her mum's or her manager's or anyone elses.

EnjoyYourShitCake · 25/05/2017 22:19

Has the paying for the funerals rumour actually been confirmed? I heard someone said it on a fan site on Facebook and people are reporting it as if it is true.

Megbert · 25/05/2017 22:21

It neither amazing or shocking that a person who went through what she has would need time to recover.

bookwormnerd · 25/05/2017 22:23

To be honest I would have thought those in hospital may just want time to recover, not to have a media storm. Arianna didnt need to do anything. It was not her fault, it was the fault of the sick individual who perpertrated the act. I dont care how old you are, you would struggle if people who were there to see you died. Hasnt she offered to help with funural costs? Im sure that means something to the family. Not a paticular fan of Arriannas as never really listened to her music but I dont think she has done anything wrong. She is probably lost at what to say anyway. It was much easier for queen who wasnt directly involved

stormywaters · 25/05/2017 22:23

Really Keira I wonder why, loads of people that were there gave detailed accounts of what happened. People in shock often feel the need to tell what happened.

DontLetMeBeMisunderstood · 25/05/2017 22:24

If she's struggling, as one might expect she is, then her turning up at the hospital and losing it emotionally would be awful for the victims she was visiting Far better for her to take some time to process it and get to a point where she can manage her emotions when faced with someone who has ended up life changing injuries just because they attended her concert. She's only human poor lass.

BTG3385 · 25/05/2017 22:25

"She hasn't just been involved in a terrorist attack."

Indeed. The Queen is almost obliged to visit the injured. As someone else said it's pretty much part of her job.

I know someone at one of the hospitals and they have had May and the Queen this week and all the media that brings. Can only imagine the level of disruption that brings to a working hospital.

Add a pop star to the mix and it's chaos

Fruitcorner123 · 25/05/2017 22:26

I think she tweeted that she would pay for the funerals.

illneverknowwhereigo · 25/05/2017 22:26

Did people criticise the eagles of death metal in this way?

Highalert · 25/05/2017 22:32

It takes a certain kind of person to agree with Piers Morgan...
