Piers Morgan Retweeted KATY PERRY
Agreed.
Might have been nice if @ArianaGrande had stayed to do the same.

God bless The Queen and her kind heart #StayStrongManchester

So basically he said that Ariana Grande should have stayed to meet the victims?

Fucking hell. I can't imagine what Ariana must be going through after what happened.

But no. Piers Morgan has to make his point.

I thought she would've stayed to meet her fans - and put a positive spin on this concert so it's remembered for good reasons?

Or am I missing something?

Are you kidding? Yes you are missing something, the fact this concert will never be remembered for good reasons no matter how positive anyone tried to spin it.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 25/05/2017 21:47

Yes he did hack a dead child's phones, Milly Dowler's.
I'm not on twitter but maybe someone who has, could remind him of that?!

AngeloMysterioso · 25/05/2017 21:47

As if it's even up to her anyway! Her management and record label will have protocols set in place for this and will have scooped their multi-million dollar asset out of there pronto. She probably couldn't have stayed if she wanted to.

Fruitcorner123 · 25/05/2017 21:48

I have never agreed with Piers Morgan before but was literally about to write that. She is 23 and has not been a 'girl' for five years.

Not saying i agree that she should have stayed (she could have) but what her mum has done/said is irrelevant as she is an adult.

Of course he shouldn't have tweeted that but hardly the worse thing he's ever said.

limitedperiodonly · 25/05/2017 21:48

I was surprised Ariana Grande didn't take the opportunity to visit her fans either in hospital or at one of the many memorial services.

I think that is very bad from a personal and a PR perspective.

I think it is great of the Queen to visit people. I know people might have wanted to see Kate or William and Harry because they are so popular - if I was in hospital I'd probably want Harry at my bedside [wink} but her visit was really important.

She is the Head of State visiting people alone and allowing footage and sound of their conversations. I think that is very meaningful in that as a country we stand against terrorism.

EtonMessi · 25/05/2017 21:49

Her response was a single pretty self indulgent tweet.

Ah, I see someone else has the manual on "How to respond when you've been caught up in a terrorist attack".

Fuck that shit. I hope to God that I'm never anywhere near anything like that happening, and I can't imagine how others can muster the audacity to judge the reactions of those who were.

youarenotkiddingme · 25/05/2017 21:50

She has expressed feeling incredible guilt.

Yet she is not the terrorist or part of the cell that destroyed so many lives forever.

WI expect she will need as much counselling as the victims and their families.

I also agree she'd be accused of a PR stunt if she stayed and made a visit.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 25/05/2017 21:50

Angelo, no her management can advise her they can't make her stay or go anywhere.

I do think she did the right thing in going home though.

ohfourfoxache · 25/05/2017 21:50

If she had stayed to put a "good spin on it" she would have been criticised for trying to boost her career.

I think more of her for getting the hell out of there and offering to pay for the funerals of the victims than I would for her doing a few hospital visits. I suspect that she has been in touch behind the scenes with those injured - or if she hasn't then she may well be in time.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 25/05/2017 21:52

Is it the same piers Morgan who presided over the secret hacking of a missing child's phone giving hope to the parents that their daughter was still alive?

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 25/05/2017 21:52

No she isn't a "girl" but she's not exactly a mature woman either.

PenguinOfDoom · 25/05/2017 21:53

Piers Morgan is the male Katie Hopkins. Ignore the troll.

EtonMessi · 25/05/2017 21:55

No she isn't a "girl" but she's not exactly a mature woman either.

Agreed, and even if she was- she can only do what she's capable of. Some people can hold it together quite well after traumatic experiences. Others can't. It's not to do with age, it's because everyone is different. Even if she was the same age as Piers Morgan, there's nothing to say that she should then respond in X way to someone killing a group of her fans FFS.

nancy75 · 25/05/2017 21:56

Ariana Grande visiting hospitals is the last bloody thing they need, it would cause huge disruption & need loads of security, the police & hospital staff have enough to do at the moment

Smellbellina · 25/05/2017 21:57

Her "camp" should have said/done more. Ariana, no chance.

tabulahrasa · 25/05/2017 21:58

"Not saying i agree that she should have stayed (she could have) but what her mum has done/said is irrelevant as she is an adult."

Not really... her mum was actually in the crowd when it happened, she'd been in the audience for the concert.

So when people are saying she helped - she was in the crowd when the bomb went off and taking unaccompanied children to safety backstage.

It's not really irrelevant when discussing how it all must have affected Ariana.

She wasn't already back at her hotel when it happened, she'd literally just left the stage, her mum and I'm assuming other people close to her were right there in the audience with everyone else.

Runny · 25/05/2017 21:59

I think she's damned if she does and damaged if she doesn't. People will say she should have stayed and visited injured fans, but if she did you just know that others would say she was exploiting the situation to make herself look good.

I feel so sorry for her actually. I'm far from a fan, but she must be heartbroken. I hope she has a food support network around her.

Shootfirstaskquestionslater · 25/05/2017 21:59

People need to cut that poor girl some slack she's just as traumtised as everyone else if she hadn't done her encore that foyer would've been packed when he let the bomb off she saved god knows how many people by doing her encore and her mum was helping to get children out the arena to safely. She has even offered to help the victimis families. So its not like she's just walked away and done nothing.

nancy75 · 25/05/2017 22:01

Her people could have said more - but what do we really want them to say? This is awful, we're sorry it happened? Right at this moment people that have lost loved ones or are sitting with their injured child in hospital probably could t give a shit what Arianas people do or don't say.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 25/05/2017 22:03

Her management did release a statement the day after.

FairNotFair · 25/05/2017 22:03

To be fair, our own queen held a garden party the day after!

They're organised to recognise people who've contributed to their communities. They're not private functions for the Queen's personal friends.

OverAndAbove · 25/05/2017 22:05

Victim blaming at its most odious.

She had family and friends in the audience and will have been as traumatised as any other person there. Poor thing.

FairNotFair · 25/05/2017 22:05

... but I did enjoy Piers Morgan castigating Lily Allen for "attention seeking". He is an irony-free zone, isn't he?

FoofFighter · 25/05/2017 22:05

Polly Hudson (? Think that's right) in the Mirror this morning said the same thing
