Agreed.
Might have been nice if @ArianaGrande had stayed to do the same.

God bless The Queen and her kind heart #StayStrongManchester

So basically he said that Ariana Grande should have stayed to meet the victims?

Fucking hell. I can't imagine what Ariana must be going through after what happened.

But no. Piers Morgan has to make his point.

HappyAxolotl · 25/05/2017 23:13

There is so much about this that we don't know (and it isn't our business to know). Maybe Ariana wanted to go to the hospital and was advised not to. Maybe for the medical staff, having her there (and the media tailing) would hinder them treating the injured. Maybe they felt that seeing her would be triggering for the patients. Maybe there were security concerns about a further attack if she stayed in Manchester, as there would still be fans who despite all would go to her hotel trying to meet her. And maybe, girl, woman, whatever, she's a human being who is going through hell as her fans were killed and injured at her show and she needs time and space at home for the sake of her own mental health?

None of us knows including Piers Morgan and it's a really low shot for him to have a go at someone who did nothing at all wrong and her happy event ended in such horror.

I'm not an AG fan, I know nothing much about her, but I do feel for her now.

limitedperiodonly · 25/05/2017 23:15

I don't think she was obliged to, I just think it would have been a nice thing to do and I'm surprised and disappointed she didn't.

I don't believe her visit would have been at all difficult for the hospital to handle if she'd have given notice. It's not like she's the Queen, is it?

PerspicaciaTick · 25/05/2017 23:15

The bomber is dead and beyond the reach of Twitter so some particularly unpleasant people (and it isn't only Piers Morgan) have chosen to vomit their vile opinions over a young woman who is also a victim in this hellish situation.

Rubies12345 · 25/05/2017 23:16

Yes he did hack a dead child's phones, Milly Dowler's.
I'm not on twitter but maybe someone who has, could remind him of that

No, he didn't, it was the News of the World not The Mirror

Tanith · 25/05/2017 23:18

Mmmhmm! And where exactly is Piers Morgan?
Did he bother to go out and meet the victims? What has he done himself, apart from sit on his backside and tweet idiocies?

MommaGee · 25/05/2017 23:20

I'm surprised and disappointed she didn't what gives you the right to be DISAPPOINTED in how a young woman reacts to terrorist attack on her concert? That killed her fans. That will scar her for the test of her life because they were there for her?

If this had been a bus crash in route maybe she should have gone but she was caught up in this too. Her mom was in the audience. She's not some weird bystander and I don't think her having a hysterical breakdown in front of some patient over misguided guilt will help anyone.

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 25/05/2017 23:21

Yet another time a woman has the responsibility of male violence heaped upon her.

Terfing · 25/05/2017 23:22

I absolutely cannot believe some of the insensitive comments being given here. I really hope you're trolls. Sad

Theresnonamesleft · 25/05/2017 23:22

Fucking hell there are some ridiculous things being posted. She should have stayed. She should be going to the hospital. She should be at the memorials..

Don't people bother to engage their brains before spouting shite? Regardless of where she was in the arena she was a victim just like every single person that was present was. Just because she's famous doesn't exclude her from being a victim.

Oh but she shouldn't have gone home. Really? On what planet? You think you would want to stayed held up in a hotel with the press outside, with any hotel staff looking and whispering? No you would want to be somewhere that you feel safe.
Somewhere you could privately try And come to terms with what happened. Like many others, she was hysterical. Of course she is.

And as for well the Queen went to the hospital. This is what the Royal family. They go and see victims in hospital. They will be coached to handle these situations as best they can. A 22 year seeing the victims first hand, would not be good for anyone.

Can you imagine the bitching afterwards. She only went for publicity then made it all about her when she broke down.
Or what an unemotional woman. Stood there chatting with the victims like nothing happened.

Or she attended the memorials and she
Would have been criticised for not letting the friends and family do this in peace.

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 25/05/2017 23:22

Was it Piers Morgan who published the photos of the soldiers pretending to piss on prisoners?

EnidButton · 25/05/2017 23:25

Just to clear up, the paying for funerals thing was posted by a fan and not true as far as we know. She hasn't tweeted anything since that night.

Not saying she should, just saying it's a false news story that started doing the rounds on Tuesday until no-one knew who had started it or where it had come from.

Shockers · 25/05/2017 23:27

I doubt she will ever come to terms with the fact that if those people hadn't have gone to her concert, they'd still be alive.

Of course their deaths are not her fault... they're nobody's fault other than the creature who caused them.

That won't stop her feeling the way she undoubtedly feels though.

I feel so desperately sad for her, and everyone who was affected. Piers Morgan needs to hop back under his stone with the odious KH.

limitedperiodonly · 25/05/2017 23:28

Why would an Ariana Grande fan want to meet Piers Morgan? However, if I was a fan of hers I'd be cheered up if she took the trouble to come to see me in hospital. And if she cried, so what?

There don't have to be cameras there. When the Queen visited it was filmed, but the cameras wouldn't have been there without the patients' permission.

It really doesn't strike me as a huge thing to do.

Shockers · 25/05/2017 23:28

She's probably still very traumatised herself.

AngeloMysterioso · 25/05/2017 23:30

Piers Morgan is a puny, revolting, despicable little man who will use any opportunity to gain column inches and publicity, no matter how tragic.

That he somehow managed to persuade a seemingly intelligent woman to marry him and bear his children will never cease to astonish me. I've only to see a picture of his smug, foul, rat face and all the muscles in my body involuntarily clench...

limitedperiodonly · 25/05/2017 23:31

She really wouldn't have been bitched about for visiting someone in hospital. Well, she might have been but those people would have been clearly mad, because visiting someone in hospital is a nice thing to do.

AngeloMysterioso · 25/05/2017 23:35

^^ Piers Morgan would have bitched about it. He'd have said she was using the situation to boost her own PR. Leave it to him to plunge to ever lower depths in the chasm of poor taste.

hellomoon · 25/05/2017 23:36

if I was in hospital I'd probably want Harry at my bedside [wink

Give me fucking strength. You do know that some living victims had to be identified by the clothes they were wearing? Not sure that aMr Bump plaster and Harry ar your side will quite have those people tickety boo in no time. Please stop with the ridiculous comments around such a tragic event.

limitedperiodonly · 25/05/2017 23:40

So if she'd visited and Piers Morgan had bitched about her, what would you say? Because I'd say that he was wrong and it was a lovely thing for her to do. Because it would have been and no one in their right mind would disagree.

PickAChew · 25/05/2017 23:44

I'm with foureyes. She's a very young woman, probably been kept in a bit of a bubble as her career develops, so not really been exposed to much unpleasantness, lest it interfere with her brand. For anyone, going to work and having the people you are working for blown up is far from a minor event. For someone brought up to buy and sell perfection, it's pretty damned massive and incomprehensible.

thatdearoctopus · 25/05/2017 23:46

And where exactly is Piers Morgan?
Did he bother to go out and meet the victims?

God, haven't those poor poor people been through enough, without him turning up at the bedside with flowers.

nancy75 · 25/05/2017 23:50

The last thing anyone in hospital anywhere should have to do is put up with a visit from that nasty cunt Morgan

PerspicaciaTick · 25/05/2017 23:50

If the victims and their families wanted her to visit and if the hospital felt the visit could be handled with minimal disruption to medical care and if Ariana Grande felt strong enough to be able to go and give active support then, yes, it would be a lovely thing to do. It may still be a lovely thing that she does in the days or weeks to come.
Not being able to do it right now, less than 72 hours after the attack, does not make her a bad person.

Fruitcorner123 · 25/05/2017 23:51

I read about the funeral payments on 'Ariana updates' on Twitter. Is that not her 'people'? They have tweeted tributes to some of the victims as well.

I actually agree that she would have been criticised if she had gone to the hospital as well. People would have called it a publicity stunt and said it was inappropriate for victims etc.

Regardless of anything you may or may not choose to think about her response it's none of Piers Morgan's business and it's not like there is any standard protocol on how to react in these circumstances. None of us would have a clue what to do. Including him.
