Agreed.
Might have been nice if @ArianaGrande had stayed to do the same.

God bless The Queen and her kind heart #StayStrongManchester

So basically he said that Ariana Grande should have stayed to meet the victims?

Fucking hell. I can't imagine what Ariana must be going through after what happened.

But no. Piers Morgan has to make his point.

i also think she is mere baby at 23, and will have such survivors guilt. I don't blame her for going home

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 26/05/2017 10:23

Unbelievable that people on here really think she could choose to visit or not.

You must live in bubbles

This young woman will be in shock this happened at her concert she tweeted right after it happened. PIERS MORGAN needs to keep his tweeting finger under control he was wanting Amir khan to speak out for all muslims the other morning he is a complete twat

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 26/05/2017 10:26

Exactly computer the level of innocence bordering on thick here is appalling.

Piers is utterly stupid and a pathetic idiot.

TodaysUsernameIsBoring · 26/05/2017 10:30

She's as much a victim as anyone else involved in this. She's only 23 ffs and there must be an enormous amount of guilt in her heart right now. There is plenty of time for her to reach out to people affected in future if and when she can face it.

I know people who went who can't even face the news right now because it's all
Too raw. We have no idea what any of these people witnessed.

None of the people affected should have to go through their grief, shock and recovery in public. Leave them be ffs.

cheeeekyavocado · 26/05/2017 10:32

*cheeeekyavocado

Completely disagree.
She has no responsibility towards the people affected at her concert.
Nice if she says something, buy she certainly doesn't have to.
Not more than any other victim or person who was there has.*

I said she may possibly feel some guilt. Not that she should.
Of course she is a also victim.

Orlantina · 26/05/2017 10:33

I think he seems incapable of empathy. Of understanding other people.

I haven't read any of Hopkin's tweets - I hate to imagine what she's saying at the moment.

What's disturbing is that someone like him has such a massive platform in the media - a breakfast show and the Daily Mail.

People like him need calling out.

Did he go after the Eagles of death Metal when they left the Bataclan after the attack there?
or is just the 23 year old young woman he saves this bile for Hmm

MrsJayy · 26/05/2017 10:34

Fwiw I dont think she is a mere baby she is a grown woman her age is irrelevant, one of my children works for the emergency services in their early 20s and not a mere baby

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 26/05/2017 10:41

No i sfeee she's not a baby. I was a staff nurse in charge of a trauma ward st her age but that's completely irrelevant in this case.

She would be traumatised and she would be required to follow instructions from our anti terrorist police and that would be stay away and if possible go home to the states as this is a live ongoing terrorist attack.

Again the level of stupid on here is breathtaking

CoughingForWeeks · 26/05/2017 10:43

^ Lulu has hit the nail on the head here. EODM are male, and therefore largely exempt from Morgan's bile. And it's fair to say that although the band are older than Ariana, they are still traumatised 18 months after the Bataclan attacks. They've made a documentary about the attack, Nos Amis. It's moving stuff.

Orlantina · 26/05/2017 10:48

Hopkins has just been sacked for her recent controversial comments - I wonder if this will make Morgan reflect on his tweets

Hopkins has been sacked that's the best news this week

ComputerUserNotTrained · 26/05/2017 10:55

She's been fired from LBC. I wonder if the Fail will follow suit?

hackmum · 26/05/2017 10:56

I think anyone who was present at that concert will have been hugely traumatised by the event, even if they weren't injured, and will remain traumatised for years to come.

It's so easy to imagine what you might do in any given dangerous situation. To think: I'd dive into the river and rescue a drowning child. I'd rush to help the woman who's being attacked in the street. I'd stay brave under torture and not give any secrets away. In our imaginations, we are all heroes. When we're faced with a real life catastrophe, who knows how we'd actually behave? Fortunately for most of us, we'll never be put to the test.

ohfourfoxache · 26/05/2017 11:06

Brilliant news about KH. Vile creature Angry

Yes, there are people who, at 23, are responsible for the care of victims because it's their job. But the amount of training and hard work needed to get to that point is incredible, and individuals actively choose to go into these professions.

Even when someone has been trained and has chosen that profession, is anyone really stupid enough to believe that they come away from something like that without being deeply affected? That each patient they treat doesn't stay with them? That they don't go home and collapse in tears when faced with caring for dying and broken children?

Now just think about someone who hasn't been trained for anything like that. Who was caught up and didn't even have the knowledge or skills to actively help the seriously injured. Because I can tell you this for nothing- if it had been me there and I couldn't actively have helped people I would feel horrifically guilty.

PLUS she has the guilt that the people who were there were there to see her. That is a hell of a lot for young shoulders.

Btw, I just want to say that the emergency services and all the NHS staff involved with this have been fucking amazing.

Also can I issue a plea that, if you want to do something practical, get yourself trained in even basic first aid. It can be the difference between life and death.

GabsAlot · 26/05/2017 11:25

he wont get sacked he seems to be immune for some reason

MyStomachHurts · 26/05/2017 11:27

I'm not surprised she's gone home. If 22 people including a 8 yr old and a host of young girls, one of who I had met, had come to see me at work and died just because they were there I would be destroyed. She's expressed sympathy, she's offered to help. What more should she do?
The queen could stand by those beds and talk and smile because she's spent ninety years training herself to do that. I wouldn't have been able to get through the door without breaking down and I'm nearly twice ariana's age

This. 10 times over

LuluLovesFruitcakes · 26/05/2017 11:27

ohfourfoxache brilliant post. And excellent advice.
If any of us want to do practical things, donate to the victims, learn emergency first aid (refresh it aswell!) and give blood if/when we can.

BlurryFace · 26/05/2017 11:33

I should think Ariana wanted to do what a lot of people would want to do after witnessing a terror attack - go home, be with their family and possibly seek therapy. The Queen wasn't there when it happened, was she?

AlwaysCcakeTime · 26/05/2017 11:41

Ex-HCP here, haven't practiced in nearly 10 years, there are still deaths that stay with me, that make me cry and none of them were anything like this.

23 & no experience of that level of trauma and hate..........I'm self aware enough now at 44 to say I'm been crying in a corner if I was Ariana Grande, and all I'd want would be my Ma.

Morgan is a nasty misogynist spoilt shit

AlwaysCcakeTime · 26/05/2017 11:48

Oh and can you imagine the media circus if she had visited?

No matter how quiet it might have been kept some shit would have leaked it.

Just what patients need, media scum traumatising them even more, and preventing HCPs from doing their jobs

MaybeNextWeek · 26/05/2017 12:06

'I cannot believe that anyone has to have that explained to them on a forum populated by adults, most of whom are parents. I'm genuinely surprised that people can be so fucking thick.'

Think what you like about Morgan but do you really have to speak about other people on here like that? Their opinion differs to yours, doesn't mean they are 'so fucking thick'. Try a both of kindness maybe?
