to think it's finally time England deals with its Katy Hopkins problem?

I know she feeds off publicity and the best thing really would be to ignore her until she shrivels and dies of fame starvation so I apologise for the thread but this is really too much now isn't it?

The only thing any of us can really do is to try and bring everyone together wherever possible; make friends with all kinds of people; stop thinking of different groups of people as other; don't allow there to be outsiders in your community.

Plus, lobby the government to stop invading other countries and selling arms to them; support foreign aid so we make more friends than enemies and do your bit to help charities wherever you can.

If you're not doing any of this, rather just complaining about the end result then you are part of the problem.

Fliptophead · 23/05/2017 20:47

This is the woman who promised to run through London naked with a halal sausage up her arse if Sadiq Khan became Mayor of London.

Do people think maybe she doesn't know what halal means either?

Several posters have actually said they do agree with her and that she just says what everyone is really thinking.

whatthefuck

I'm atheist so have disdain for religious practices that violate rights we have entrenched in law

I think for example, there should be no religious schools at all. NOne. Religion has no place in the education of children. And it is divisive.

LotusBomb · 23/05/2017 20:57

I feel like it is the view of Islam as a whole that causes so much division and misunderstanding.

Trying to explain myself as simplistically as possible. Christianity is very clearly divided up into denominations and labelled as such. CofE, SDA, JW, Methodists, Baptists, etc etc. Islam does have differing denominations but a) not as many b) people aren't always aware if that. Additionally, my experience is that faith merges with culture far more so with Islam than it does with Christianity. So when people start talking about "Final Solutions" or asking leaders of communities to take responsibility or modernise the religion, it's not only counter productive, it's almost impossible. There are too many threads to untangle. The way a Muslim from Pakistan interprets The Quran can be very different from how a Muslim from Tunisia interprets it.
Like I said, I don't know what the solution is but it isn't as simple as just saying "now can we talk about the problem with Islam?".

Crabcanon · 23/05/2017 21:00

Namechanger I agree. I know a lot of insular people within my ethnic group. Some just don't have friends' outside of that group. They work with others but that's where it ends. They wouldn't socialise with them. And it really makes me sad. In the WI group I go to, we had a woman who came to give a talk about henna and then do simple designs for those who wanted them. I remember thinking how lovely it was for a Muslim woman and a Jewish woman to be sat together doing something positive, interesting and fun. If we can focus on what makes us similar rather than our differences, it would really help. I do see a lot of kindness around me -people of all nationalities helping each other getting prams on and off buses, guiding an older person safely to a seat/standing up for someone who needs that seat etc, chatting in the supermarket queue etc. We need this every day reaching out to one another so badly. And the way I see it, every time someone looks at someone from another religion/ethnicity, and smiles at them, that's one in the eye for intolerance and hate.

How can you be over the age of 16 and not know what the final solution means?

Erm, quite easily considering that there are several of us on this thread who didn't know? Hmm

It was on the first and second page several times.

Yes. So on the first and second page, I was educated. And then as I reached the end of the thread, the insults started. Are you being deliberately obtuse? We know what it means now. We've known what it means since page 1 of the thread. Later in the thread it descended into insults, which may be why people were responding to that.

gluteustothemaximus · 23/05/2017 21:04

What about reading the fucking thread before summarising it?

Is there a rule somewhere that says I must not comment or summarise until I have RTFT?

I do apologise. Must be my ignorance. Again.

LotusBomb · 23/05/2017 21:05

But all people who follow Islam have a fundamentally different view to the equality laws we have in the UK, however nuanced the interpretation of the Quran.

Erm, no. They all don't.

LotusBomb · 23/05/2017 21:06

If we can focus on what makes us similar rather than our differences, it would really help.

Completely agree

Crabcanon · 23/05/2017 21:07

How can you be over the age of 16 and not know what the final solution means?

It's not a disgrace not to know something. If you don't know then you don't know. And for anyone reading this thread who didn't know, then they now do know it. And that's the wonder of the internet. You get to learn things you didn't know before.

conserveisposhforjam · 23/05/2017 21:08

if you can't summon even a little ire for someone casually advocating genocide, them you're a bit fucked

This.

How fucking far do you have to bend over to think she doesn't know what 'final solution' means? Where have you EVER heard that phrase in common parlance?

Of course she fucking knew. Of course she fucking did.

squirreltrap · 23/05/2017 21:08

I will disagree with that

Women cannot attend mosques in the same way as men - there are separate doors. I have a friend whose husband fucked off to Pakistan and she's not even allowed to take her sons into the mosque. These are normal Muslim people. Women are simply not of equal value as men, and it is all muslims. It's part of the faith / culture. Just the way it is.

zeezeek · 23/05/2017 21:11

I'm well educated and have no idea about what 'final solution' meant, it just read 'we need a solution that works' to me

And that was Hitler's interpretation. His final solution to the problem of the Jews - which basically meant their existence on this planet. People like my grandparents, for example.

angryladyboobs · 23/05/2017 21:12

Shall we deal with the terrorist issue first.

You know the evil cunts that are killing people? Before we 'deal with' a loud mouth ignorant asshole?.

Ffs

NotACleverName · 23/05/2017 21:12

TuppenceForYou essentially advocating genocide is not just a "difference of opinion." HT fucking H.

But all people who follow Islam have a fundamentally different view to the equality laws we have in the UK, however nuanced the interpretation of the Quran.

Cite your sources, squirrel. I take it you've taken the time to collate the opinions of all Muslims in the UK then? Didn't think so.

zeezeek · 23/05/2017 21:14

Because the loud ignorant assholes are part of the problem.

LotusBomb · 23/05/2017 21:14

I'm not debating the ins and out of Islam or my personal views on it.

You said that all people who follow Islam have fundamentally different views the equality laws in the uk. That is factually incorrect. A) unless you have interviewed everybody that follows Islam, you cannot overtly generalise. B) As I stated in my original post, interpretations differ from culture to culture. In Saudi, women cannot drive, in the UAE, they can.
With respect, Your posts are a prime example of what I'm trying to get at. It's never going to be as simple as "we need to talk about Islam". There are far too many variables.

I suggest she's lured onto a deserted island with the pretence that it's a new reality show with really well hidden cameras.
I'd give her a year or two. Maybe a decade.

Lweji · 23/05/2017 21:17

For once I actually agree with her. We need a FINAL solution.

And that would be?

NotACleverName · 23/05/2017 21:18

You're disgusting, angryladyboobs. Absolutely disgusting, did you even bother to read the thread and do you know that Final Solution actually means?

squirreltrap · 23/05/2017 21:18

I don't understand why you would argue that Islam supports equality for women.
You really want me to source it? Really?
Why can't we get real? It's not racist, it's fact. Women are not deemed equal status to men in Islam.

conserveisposhforjam · 23/05/2017 21:18

Shall we deal with the terrorist issue first.

You know the evil cunts that are killing people? Before we 'deal with' a loud mouth ignorant asshole?.

We have to solve the problem of global terrorism before we can call out twats who use the deaths of children to call for genocide just to bolster their bank accounts?

Do we?

Really?
