to think it's finally time England deals with its Katy Hopkins problem?

Fliptophead · 23/05/2017 10:08

I know she feeds off publicity and the best thing really would be to ignore her until she shrivels and dies of fame starvation so I apologise for the thread but this is really too much now isn't it?

The response is just 100% backwards.

Instead of "today of all days you should pay no attention because other things are more important"

it should be:

"today of all days remarks advocating more violence and casually referencing genocide are completely unacceptable".

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 19:49

She says she is pro-Israel. Yet no apology from her for using those words.

Either she didn't know - and she does now.
Or she deliberately decided to choose those words.

Her deletion of that tweet and no apology speaks volumes about her. I hope the DM and LBC look at this.

NotISaidTheWalrus · 23/05/2017 19:50

How do you know that isn't the reaction?

Because people on this thread have said that is not their reaction?

FFS. Keep up.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2017 19:51

"How do you know that isn't the reaction? hmm "

Well , unless I've missed some pages, you're the first person to express that feeling.........

surferjet · 23/05/2017 19:51

So op: what do you suggest we do with Katie Hopkins & the millions of people who agree with every word she says?
What do you think the government should do?

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2017 19:54

Well, I don't think the government should be doing anything. It's not their job. I think that LBC should sack her. I think that people should refuse to go on LBC until she is sacked. And I think the police should look into it as a piece of hate speech.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 19:54

So op: what do you suggest we do with Katie Hopkins & the millions of people who agree with every word she says

What do you agree with?

Calling for a "final solution"?

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 23/05/2017 19:55

Wind your neck in NotISaid

Bert Fair do's, I wouldn't assume that just because they haven't said "omg that's horrific" that they aren't disgusted by it. Then again that's probably because I hate the thought that anyone could know what it means and not find it abhorrent :(

gluteustothemaximus · 23/05/2017 19:55

I think basically, the thread started because the person was outraged by KH comments. Knowing what the phrase meant.

Lots of people agree.

Posters come along and say that they didn't know what the phrase meant.

Lots of 'ignorant!' nasty comments.

People argue back.

Missing the point of the thread now by defending themselves on why they do not know the phrase.

In actual fact, we are probably ALL horrified by the tweet. But it was missed in the name calling.

That is all.

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 23/05/2017 19:56

Tbh, I don't think that speech (unless in the case of slander etc) shouldn't be illegal.

I wish for her to be fired. I wish that more people were outraged. But that's pretty much it.

As for the people saying they didn't know but are horrified now? Great.

But several people reacted by trying to justify it etc.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2017 19:59

"Bert Fair do's, I wouldn't assume that just because they haven't said "omg that's horrific" that they aren't disgusted by it. Then again that's probably because I hate the thought that anyone could know what it means and not find it abhorrent sad"

Frankly, on a thread like this where people are being accused of not caring about the death of children because they also care about something else, I would expect people to make their disgust clear. Rather than saying "Oh dear, poor Katie, she must have not known what it meant, poor pet"

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 23/05/2017 20:02

What gluteus said.

I think if someone had just explained Final Solution for those of us who didn't know what it meant, we'd have all expressed our disgust at it. Because of the name-calling, it all got a bit lost.

It was a disgusting phrase to use. Inexcusable.

StarkintheSouth · 23/05/2017 20:04

YANBU. Makes me sick that people hang off her every word. She jumps on every atrocity with these hammy worded articles as if she speaks for the nation. Every tweet about her she sees as validation that she's right. She makes my blood run cold.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 20:08

People explained the meaning of Final Solution on the first page.

Several times

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 23/05/2017 20:11

People explained the meaning of Final Solution on the first page.

I try to RTFT before replying, so I read up to the point where we were ignorant, uneducated, dangerous and god knows what else.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 20:15

It was on the first and second page several times.

lmgtfy.com/?q=final+solution

Caprianna · 23/05/2017 20:18

How can you be over the age of 16 and not know what the final solution means?

NotACleverName · 23/05/2017 20:19

Anyone who calls for a "final solution" deserves nothing but contempt.

Katie Hopkins and her ilk thrive off this shit. The only way to deal with her and other similar bottom feeders is to block/report/mute. Job done.

squirreltrap · 23/05/2017 20:27

I'm well educated and have no idea about what 'final solution' meant, it just read 'we need a solution that works' to me

For those who constantly say dont make this a muslim issue, can you explain....these followers of the Muslim faith who are terrorists see the British lifestyle as sinful and we who are not Muslim are infidels. Ok, they take this conflict to the extreme with violence BUT there is a problem with Islam and British culture at a wider level. Homosexuality, women not equal to men and the barbaric way in which meat is slaughtered (we had to revert years of animal rights laws with a 'religious exclusion' act to accommodate halal) are just examples of a fundamental conflict of values at the heart of Islam and British values.

None of us want division but there are divisions in the values and it's probably time we started being honest about that and perhaps we can find a way to live together peacefully. My British values conflict with Islamic views on homosexuality, women's rights and meat slaughter. Does that make me a bigot and racist? It probably does to many people, but I'm not sure I'm sorry

roywoodsbeard · 23/05/2017 20:28

Not sure if his had been posted, but you can email [email protected] to complain about them continuing to give this woman a mouthpiece.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 20:32

squirrel

Knowing now what Final solution means, do you think that Hopkins (who went to Sandhurst and wanted to enter Army intelligence) should know - and do you think she should apologise for her tweet?

whatsthefuckingwrongwithyou · 23/05/2017 20:35

My British values conflict with Islamic views on homosexuality, women's rights and meat slaughter.

Do you also voice your displeasure with the Catholic church (homosexuality and women's rights) and Judaism (meat slaughter)?

winobaglady · 23/05/2017 20:36

Did she not promise threaten to leave the UK if the vote was in favour of BREXIT?

Inkypink0 · 23/05/2017 20:43

squirel no it doesn't and lots of people feel the same

NotISaidTheWalrus · 23/05/2017 20:43

In actual fact, we are probably ALL horrified by the tweet. But it was missed in the name calling

So what about all the posts from people NOT horrified? And those pretty much agreeing? And those who think it doesn't matter and people who are bothered are stupid?

What about reading the fucking thread before summarising it?
