I know she feeds off publicity and the best thing really would be to ignore her until she shrivels and dies of fame starvation so I apologise for the thread but this is really too much now isn't it?

Yes orlantina we should all drink tea with terrorises and hug it out. Nice but meanwhile in the real world innocent people are getting slaughtered

barkinginessex · 23/05/2017 17:05

KH isn't afraid to say what a lot of people really think. Like it or not, she's right a lot of the time. Not meant to be goady, just honest.

Fortnum · 23/05/2017 17:08

Hopkins isnt causing it ! How foolish ! She is howling at the moon in frustration. If your 8 year old was maimed or died in agony how would you feel ? We knew this was coming. These people hate us - they will always hate us. Im talking about roughly 10-15 % of the UK muslim population. Im angry. Im angry that i cant take my daughter to a concert without the threat of this. Im angry that the rest of the muslim population arent outing these extremists from their own communities.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 17:09

Yes orlantina we should all drink tea with terrorises and hug it out

If that's your interpretation of what I said, then there's little point talking to you.

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 23/05/2017 17:10

Yes, I imagine their parents may be distraught, grieving, furious.... And I actually do feel for them.

But any kind of compassion towards a terrorists' parents just pales when I compare it to my compassion towards the parents whose child has died or was injured because of terrorism.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 17:11

We knew this was coming. These people hate us - they will always hate us. Im talking about roughly 10-15 % of the UK muslim population

So what do you suggest? What do you want to do with that amount of people that's not being done already?

findingmyfeet12 · 23/05/2017 17:12

The trouble is that a lot of this ideology originates from places where 8 year olds and younger are blown up and die in agony regularly. The terrorists often feel that they are avenging them.

GloriaGilbert · 23/05/2017 17:12

I can't get upset over polemicists.

findingmyfeet12 · 23/05/2017 17:13

what do people feel isn't being done already that ought to be done?

Inkypink0 · 23/05/2017 17:13

orlan I don't want to talk to some one who groups together a person who is angry and frustrated at a situation that folk are afraid to talk about honestly with murders either.

Maybe YOU are part of the problem.

innurendo · 23/05/2017 17:15

Do you not even have a passing thought for the bomber's parents? Seriously?

Well the Israelis already tried killing the families of suicide bombers who attack children as a deterrent, but I don't think we could go for that sort of thing in the UK, as we don't just murder people who are technically innocent of any crime here.

Beyond that what's to think. They raised somebody on the level of Ian Brady, shall we send them a bouquet?

floatingfrog · 23/05/2017 17:17

I agree the Muslim community are saddened by this act but they have to act. Their religion needs to modernise. I'm afraid they may need to dress like 'us' take on our culture and disassociate themselves from Mosques that have had incidents of radicalisation. Form and create new mosque/ places of worship which are obviously moderate. Basically they need to show solidarity by being visually moderate.

If they can't do this then the future looks bleak. This view may not be popular.

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 23/05/2017 17:17

iinurend

Yup. It's a bit "iffy" legally and ethically well, actually, I'm very much against targetting their families this way and it certainly doesn't work.

But some people I know do think that an "Israelisation" of the West is the way to go...

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 17:17

If I was ISIS, I would be using the words of people like Hopkins to persuade potential recruits in the UK that people hate them. That they are other. I'd use videos of British and American weapons that have been used to kill civillians as a recruiting tool. All the words of people like Hopkins just helps reinforce that feeling of alienation that can help groom potential recruits.

Hate breeds hate.

findingmyfeet12 · 23/05/2017 17:18

The terrorists believe that they are killing the families of killers in the same way that the Isreali's did.

To them, we are the killers.

How can you win an argument like that?

ToastDemon · 23/05/2017 17:19

To whoever said upset about Katie Hopkins using "unwise words".
She said Final Solution. The name of the act that killed six million Jewish people plus others. Those are not just unwise words.

Under the circumstances they are despicable, unforgivable and probably illegal.

Anyway I see the armchair experts on Islam have arrived, with their "them" and "us".

floatingfrog · 23/05/2017 17:22

What plans/ ideas for the future do you have Toast? We have try something ffs.

innurendo · 23/05/2017 17:22

"Hate breeds hate."

True, but people slaughtering your society's children, its most vulnerable people of all, with no justice to be had, warrants furious anger.

Directing that appropriately is essential, but being passive and placatory in the face of such things is a bit sickening.

Crabcanon · 23/05/2017 17:23

I agree KH is like a flipping PR agent for Isis. She plays right into their hands with all her frothing. Yes what happened last night was utterly hateful. But adding phrases such as Final Solution into a highly charged, traumatic situation, is inflammatory at best. The media are giving her a forum. Sadly a lot of people agree with her racist rants. It's not what's needed right now.

Inkypink0 · 23/05/2017 17:24

agog that people like KH are being blamed for ISIS and their murders ...... wtf?

tabulahrasa · 23/05/2017 17:25

Who's we and us?

Do you think it was only white Christian families at that concert last night?

SunEgg · 23/05/2017 17:25

YANBU. She is inciting criminal acts and surely should be reported to the Police.

findingmyfeet12 · 23/05/2017 17:26

The trouble is Innuendo that in many eastern countries, their innocent children have also been killed and they genuinely believe that this is the fault of the west.

Every argument for stringent action can also be used by them against us.

ToastDemon · 23/05/2017 17:26

floatingfrog I don't know but I do know that maligning a whole group of people is utterly wrong and takes us into very scary territory indeed.

Go back in time and not invade Iraq Sad
