to think it's finally time England deals with its Katy Hopkins problem?

I know she feeds off publicity and the best thing really would be to ignore her until she shrivels and dies of fame starvation so I apologise for the thread but this is really too much now isn't it?

Her tweet was very ill advised but it seems clear she meant a final solution as in exterminate all terrorists, not all Muslims. People seem quite determined to believe it was the latter though.

Have to say that this thread is pretty hateful, from people who are calling someone else out for their hate.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2017 16:37

Say more? I presume you're talking about people saying that liberals would be delighted if 20 muslims were killed and don't care about the death of children? Yes-that is very hateful.

MooMooCat · 23/05/2017 16:37

She's vile, I wish she would fuck off to America to lick Donald Trumps arse.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 16:39

As someone said, the last thing we need is a hate filled columnist in a hate filled paper saying things like this. She does NOTHING to help the situation. She just adds fuel to the fire.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2017 16:43

"but it seems clear she meant a final solution as in exterminate all terrorists, not all Muslims"
And you think this because? Looking at her previous comments?

iatetoomuchchocolateyesterday · 23/05/2017 16:44

Referring more to the repeated use of the word 'cunt' and other insults - she is hateful but so are some of the posters here.

To be fair, getting hysterical and saying that she's inciting genocide isn't very helpful either. It's the same pattern. Something like this happens and people spend more time getting offended by someone like Milo Y or Katie Hopkins or Piers Morgan than considering the fact that children have died.

LadyinCement · 23/05/2017 16:44

Katy Hopkins is a rent-a-gob.

But... I'm astonished at how people are getting so frothed up about what she wrote (which I didn't see... how do people know what she's said on Twitter if they don't follow her or are interested in her?) and the Daily Mail etc, whereas they are desperate to find some excuse for the bombings yesterday? "We are all responsible"? What the flaming fuck? Now that's what I find hateful and sick.

Inkypink0 · 23/05/2017 16:44

Never fails to amaze me that people get more offended over what a single white people said than when innocent people get slaughtered.

That's the problem there.

iatetoomuch I completely agree.

I've just been speaking to St. John's ambulance crew and honestly this thread is pathetic compared to what happened in my home town last night.

iatetoomuchchocolateyesterday · 23/05/2017 16:45

Bertrand, you and others on here are determined to believe that she is calling for the genocide of all Muslims, so there seems little point in engaging further.

iatetoomuchchocolateyesterday · 23/05/2017 16:48

Ladyincement, I'll add to 'we are all responsible' the utterly meaningless 'love conquers hate' that gets trotted out after these tragedies.

Love does not conquer hate. Try telling that to the mother of the eight year old who died last night. Love did not conquer hate in the concentration camps of Germany and Poland. It did not conquer hate in Syria. Love alone, sadly, does very little to stop terror attacks and children being killed. That does not mean we should become hate filled ourselves, but it's an empty platitude when dealing with terrorists.

GallicosCats · 23/05/2017 16:48

Oh God, is that creature still getting her poison published? I rather hoped she'd be out of fashion by now, like Gillian McKeith.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2017 16:49

"Never fails to amaze me that people get more offended over what a single white people said than when innocent people get slaughtered"

PleSe can you name and shame anyone who holds such an offensive and outrageous view?

LadyinCement · 23/05/2017 16:54

I feel really sorry for the blown-up terrorist's family. They've lost someone too, you know. They'll be grieving and I'll be lighting a candle and saying a (if appropriate) prayer for them.

(SARCASTIC)

Have we had this one yet?

Inkypink0 · 23/05/2017 16:54

Why it's encourage to be passive, empathetic and upset rather than angry active and questioning is only self serving not to upset the apple cart.

I'm waiting for the warnings of 'islamaphobic backlash' to basically shut every one up.

KH has every right to feel angry. Children has their legs blown off last night. Some people like to be passive - some people like to get angry.

I think it's about time we all got angry and started asking uncomfortable questions with out being called racists

TheMysteriousJackelope · 23/05/2017 16:55

MooMoo I live in the US, we really don't need Katy Hopkins here, thank you very much. We have enough issues with Anne Coulter, Steve Bannon, and David Duke without importing similarly minded publicity hounds from Europe. She's your problem, you deal with her.

For people whining that others are upset by Hopkins' comments, she does need to be told to knock off the hate speech. It's hate speech that inspired Dylann Roof to gun down 9 people in a church, a man to shoot up a pizza joint in Washington, and another man to let off a fusillade in a clinic providing abortion services in California. Words have consequences.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 16:55

Something like this happens and people spend more time getting offended by someone like Milo Y or Katie Hopkins or Piers Morgan than considering the fact that children have died

That kind of comment is unwarranted. As has been pointed out, it's possible to hold 2 opinions. It's possible to be incredibly upset, shocked and horrified that someone could carry out such an atrocity.

It's also possible to be shocked that someone with a platform on LBC radio and the Daily Mail - so their opinions do influence debate - can come out with such a hateful awful comment.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2017 16:56

Do you not even have a passing thought for the bomber's parents? Seriously?

Fortnum · 23/05/2017 16:56

I think the UK should firstly deal with the Terror problem. 22 young people were slaughtered last night , others maimed. Many people had to wash body parts, blood and excrement from their hair. And yet all to predictably people on here are more worried about someone using unwise words in A Tweet. Shame on you.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 16:56

t's hate speech that inspired Dylann Roof to gun down 9 people in a church, a man to shoot up a pizza joint in Washington, and another man to let off a fusillade in a clinic providing abortion services in California. Words have consequences

THIS

Especially when such hate inspired commentators have a platform on LBC and in the Daily Mail.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2017 16:57

And of course Hopkins has a right to be angry. Aren't we all angry?

LadyinCement · 23/05/2017 16:58

I'm reporting this. Some people on here are seriously at best insensitive and at worst downright cruel.

Inkypink0 · 23/05/2017 16:58

Do you not even have a passing thought for the bomber's parents? Seriously?

No. Seriously. When the St. John's ambulance crew were getting upset taking about a little girl who was being comforted whilst having her legs blown off - I didn't think of his parents.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 16:59

And yet all to predictably people on here are more worried about someone using unwise words in A Tweet. Shame on you

You don't think people fucking get that. You don't think people fear the consequences of hate speech and worry that things will get out of hand.

People like Hopkins are USED by ISIS to tell potential terrorists - look, the West hate you. Look at the comments. Join us.

She is a recruiting sergeant. Along with Trump, Bannon and other right wing extremists.

Orlantina · 23/05/2017 17:00

I think the UK should firstly deal with the Terror problem

It's people like Hopkins who are part of it. Stirring up hate and division. Acting as a recruiting sergeant.

Inkypink0 · 23/05/2017 17:01

bert seriously if it was your little daughter who's legs has been blown away are you telling me you'd give two shots about his parents??
