To be scared about the outcome of the election?

brasty · 15/05/2017 23:35

There have been so many attacks on disabled people, the NHS and public services. I am just scared that there will be even more after the election, if the Conservatives get in. It is seriously scary.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 16/05/2017 14:45

Its an opinion interesting reaction though

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 16/05/2017 14:47

Do I think you have an agenda to promote? yes I do

The agenda that I don't like Corbyn and won't vote Labour? That agenda.

Please then show me proof of your point that you are openly accusing me of something that I am certainly not doing.

because I don't agree with you.

It's extremely distasteful.

RoseandVioletCreams · 16/05/2017 15:02

I dont know why all threads are being littered with constant 50p army comments?

Its utterly ridiculous, why would people bother when its going to be a landslide anyway? Who cares about MN anyway Confused

do you think election will be won or even turned around on base of a few people chewing the fat on here!

RoseandVioletCreams · 16/05/2017 15:03

I think its bad form to follow posters around keep accusing them of being part of some barmy army as well.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 16/05/2017 15:03

Oh right that's so sad actually as I though I and all of us were having a debate?

I know far right abs far left can be nasty in here but that's really personsonal and I feel accused.

Mumsnetter for 10 years and been helped endless times over my dds post trauma injuries.

Actually crying now so will go

Justanotherlurker · 16/05/2017 15:08

I dont know why all threads are being littered with constant 50p army comments?

Its the typical MN wind up to the election threads, last GE it was everyone who had a different opinion was obviously a racist bigot daily mail reader, now that life long labour posters are coming out and saying they could not vote for Dear Leader then it must be paid trolls.

It might not end up being the same as before the last GE as there isn't the long slow build up to it, but essentially it just becomes 1000 post threads on how Evil the Tories are and everyone just backslapping each other because everyone with a differing opinion gives up.

Then when (in this case) inevitable Labour loss there will be 100's of threads asking people "but why?" in a concern troll manner.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 16/05/2017 15:14

Actually crying now so will go

Please don't cry Flowers

JustAnotherPoster00 · 16/05/2017 15:24

I dont follow anyone around to accuse them, Im just very politically motivated and for the most part yes most of us are entering into a debate, I dont wish to actually upset anyone and its not about being disagreed with but a lot of other posters have started noticing it in various threads Confused

Justanotherlurker · 16/05/2017 15:27

h but a lot of other posters have started noticing it in various threads confused

And if you step outside your confirmation bias, there are quite a few posters saying that the 50p brigade are coming from both sides of the political spectrum.

lellyli · 16/05/2017 15:28

Labour invariably borrows less than the Conservatives. The data always shows that.

And second, Labour has always repaid debt more often than the Conservatives, and has always repaid more debt, on average.

it annoys me that people have this view that labour got us into a financial crisis or "labour government financial disasters". do the research.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 16/05/2017 15:40

lellyli its a narrative that was pushed hard since the 70's and has been backed by the mainstream media as of the 2010 election

Livelovebehappy · 16/05/2017 15:47

TBH, it doesn't matter what's talked about on MN. I think we all know that on 8th June there will be a Tory landslide. A lot of deluded people on here who are painting an entirely different persona for JC. He wouldn't be good in a televised debate because the man is totally out of his depth and needs auto cues and scripts to actually speak about anything. He's not a 'mr nice guy'; judge a man by the company he keeps, and with friends like Gerry Adams, Hamas and Abbott, we can pretty much judge his character. And despite it being an unpopular view on MN; there is widespread waste of funds in the Welfare system and the NHS, which absolutely needs addressing. If that means an overhaul of the systems in place, then so be it. I'm sick of going out to work hard every day to earn my money, whilst the guy who lives next door to me is claiming DLA because he's an alcoholic, and sits in his yard with his alcoholic mates drinking his bottle of wine with not a care in the world. How's that fair? That's not what the welfare system was set up for.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 16/05/2017 15:51

Livelovebehappy Hmm Biscuit

Dawndonnaagain · 16/05/2017 15:53

and whilst we're on people politicians met years ago...

To be scared about the outcome of the election?
To be scared about the outcome of the election?
2rebecca · 16/05/2017 15:55

The RMT are planning a poorly timed strike (for Labour). The train drivers go on strike far more than any other group of workers. If it's that bad a job why don't they resign and get a better one?
I think public transport should be a government priority for the environment and we won't get more people using it when they are forever striking.
I'd never vote Tory but if they planned to bring in a no striking on public transport law it would be hugely popular with the electorate.
The RMT are shooting Labour in the foot here.

Dawndonnaagain · 16/05/2017 15:55

Michael Gove, Conservative party chief whip, speaking on BBC Radio 4’s World at One.

First, and it is important to state this, the Labour government was not responsible for the 2008 recession. The recession was caused by the housing bubble bursting in the US which led to subsequent financial crises in other countries.

One could argue, as the BBC’s Robert Peston does, that banks should have been under stricter regulation in the UK under the Labour government. However, this is easy to say with the benefit of hindsight and no other political party was arguing in favour of more regulation of the banking sector at the time. In fact, the Conservative party argued for less regulation of the banking sector.

And before you start on the last Labour Party fucking it up etc.

RoseandVioletCreams · 16/05/2017 15:59

Well why not start a special thread about the 50p army and stop going on about them on normal threads, its tedious to have to wave through.

makeourfuture · 16/05/2017 16:00

I have an agenda.

The Tories are wrecking the country.
Their ideology of Social Darwinism is faulty and morally suspect.

Np plan for Brexit. No plans for housing crisis. No plans for crisis in social care.

Plans for the NHS aplenty, but privatisation isn't the way.

The list goes on and on..

expatinscotland · 16/05/2017 16:01

YANBU

Dawndonnaagain · 16/05/2017 16:06

Yeah, I too have an agenda. I'd like to be able to afford some heating next winter.

OliviaPopeRules · 16/05/2017 16:11

Dawndonnaagain

But the conservatives weren't in power, labour were and they were the ones who deregulated the banks. It doesn't matter what they might have done the fact is they didn't.

Dawndonnaagain · 16/05/2017 16:15

Which bit of a Tory minister stating that the opposition didn't cause the recession didn't you get?
Or am I getting something wrong?

theresamustgo · 16/05/2017 16:18

YANBU. Its the masochism of so many that gets me.....like they just want the sky to fall in. Must hate themselves as well as everyone else.

Dapplegrey2 · 16/05/2017 16:18

Dawndonna - I recognise Mugabe but who is the grey haired chap with Mrs Thatcher?
