Original thread for those who are interested!
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2717105-Sod-a-parking-dispute-I-bring-you-a-fucking-wheelie-bin-dispute

They are at it again! And there is a sodding gate there now so they are using the only available triangle spaced bit In front of the gate to park their fecking bins!!

Couldn't even get my bins into my bin store (which it now is now it has a gate on) and had to spend ages moving bins about to open the gate to get them in!

I have exclaimed loudly and pulled all their bins to the end of the entry.

Very nearly pushed them over too.

Sorry for crappy diagram could only find small notebook and DD'S biro- you know the clicky one with 4 different colours.

Could you see them take the ins from the road - and leg it up the garden to catch them abondoning the bins on your land? Then ask why they are littering your land?

I think you need to lock them in there.

If you keep putting them out then whoever is trespassing will just carry on doing it

Get coiled bike lock, weave it though all the handles after moving them back out the street...

That means they have to come talk to you to get them detached from each other again?

This!

Yes random!

Is that little 'corner' dirt or paved/concrete? If it's paved/concrete can you put "NO BINS HERE" or "KEEP AREA CLEAR" in red?

Otherwise, leave the bins in the middle of the street.

CCTV camera to film the culprits.
A fake "Unauthorised dumping of bins in this area will result in legal action"
Wheel the bins back to their rightful place. Remove all wheels. Problem solved!

Lock the bins in your garage then post this haiku

Bins occupy a
space they do not belong
Lost in a void

Next week change it to this one
Like the bird hunts the
worm, you seek the unseen.
Respect boundaries.

Buy these stickers and stick them on each of the offending bins. It will take the owners forever to get them off and they can use that time to think about what they have done.

Have you got a loft full of rubbish you need to get rid of? Because at this point I would totally load them half full with crap then return then to the least convenient location you can find if you don't know whose is whose.

Did anyone else think this thread was going to be about Bing? Nope? Sorry, I've been watching too much Bing. I'm so pleased it's about the bins though, much more interesting.

You can get little cameras that record for a couple of hours on one charge. I just bought one. It even has different attachments so it can be mounted or clipped on to something. I paid £6 (inc free memory card) on eBay just the other day.
If you know it's a certain time it's happening, set the camera up, take a still shot off the video of the culprit dragging bins, print it off with a huge red NO! printed over it. Stick your new poster up and let the naughty neighbour know it's a no no.

I can't remember from your last thread whether you'd actually spoken to them about it? Are you too British? I would be

Phone the council and tell them you seem to have more bins than you should, could they come and remove them? Lock them in the garage until the council are due to pick them up.

Sorry phone battery died and there have been a few posts -

ThatsWotSheSaid that made me laugh out loud!
They can use the time to think about what they have done Grin

Little bit of land is concrete - so I could paint it .

A chain with a sign is also a good idea . And would be easy to do .

I know exactly who is doing it - I thought they had given up on the whole thing as it has been 9 months since bingate (I think) . But they have obviously thought I had forgiven and forgotten since fixing my gate .

I haven't actually said anything to them but I did stand and catch them at it last time (see other thread) and gave them the eye 👀

Loving the haiku and other poems!

For six years my neighbours having been pushing my bins off the edge of my driveway presumably because the hinges overhang into their airspace. All of the wheels etc are on my drive and they are against a paving stone height wall as my neighbours drive is higher than mine.
We have never spoken about this I just push them back. Every. Day.
People are so weird!

Why didn't you fence that little bit too OP?

Report
Babyiwantabump · 13/05/2017 01:12

Because it could be clipped by cars as it would make the corner sharp and would either result in lots of fence repairs or lots of car issues . It's still my land though.

I remember this from last time. Your neighbors really are quite bitchy. Lock them up or do whatever you want. They're treating you as less than human just because of your age. Make a stand OP. And keep updating us.

Ahh fuck um, if it makes it awkward for them with cars, then they shouldn't have put their bins on there, they forced your hand, they should live the consequences. Smile

Spray paint cocks on them and blame your neighbour. Or break the wheels off.
