Original thread for those who are interested!
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2717105-Sod-a-parking-dispute-I-bring-you-a-fucking-wheelie-bin-dispute

They are at it again! And there is a sodding gate there now so they are using the only available triangle spaced bit In front of the gate to park their fecking bins!!

Couldn't even get my bins into my bin store (which it now is now it has a gate on) and had to spend ages moving bins about to open the gate to get them in!

I have exclaimed loudly and pulled all their bins to the end of the entry.

Very nearly pushed them over too.

Sorry for crappy diagram could only find small notebook and DD'S biro- you know the clicky one with 4 different colours.

Get coiled bike lock, weave it though all the handles after moving them back out the street...

That means they have to come talk to you to get them detached from each other again?

EezerGoode · 12/05/2017 22:20

We paid £20 per bin for ours..I suggest binnapp them...charge a ransom for their return

AlternativeTentacle · 12/05/2017 22:21

As I said last time, lock the bins in your garage.

Babyiwantabump · 12/05/2017 22:21

I put this sign up last time and someone took it down!

I own the land they are putting the bins on

Lock them in your garage for a week.
Lock your own bins away too.
Then let them magically reappear in the correct place.
Repeat every time.

stuntcamel · 12/05/2017 22:23

Buy several tins of pilchards. Wait for a nice warm day. Empty said pilchards into bins.

c3pu · 12/05/2017 22:23

Mary had a wheelie bin,
It's colour unappealing.
Blocking the gate is a sin,
It leads to bad feeling.

MrsChopper · 12/05/2017 22:24

I'd take the bloody bins and hide them in the next street! I remember your other thread. OAP's are the worst! Wink

WatchingFromTheWings · 12/05/2017 22:25

I'd fence off that bit of land if it's yours. Needn't cost much.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 12/05/2017 22:26

Your bins are green
They shouldn't be seen
On my land
Which is unplanned
What will you say
When I lock them away?
Eh? Eh? Eh?

LizTaylorsFabulousTurban · 12/05/2017 22:27

C3PU for laureate.

Babyiwantabump · 12/05/2017 22:28

If I fence of that little bit though I worry that the fence would get clipped by cars coming down the entry as it would make the corner very sharp and difficult to pass .

Also, if you extend the fence they might still put the bins in front of it.

Maybe cover the bins in shoe polish.
Superglue the lids shut.

In fact, just burn the buggers!

SleepFreeZone · 12/05/2017 22:35

I would just wheel the fuckers down the road each week and dump them in random places. Let their owners go search for them.

Ollycat · 12/05/2017 22:37

Can you put some (penguin) bollards over the offending area?

Ollycat · 12/05/2017 22:38

What goes in your red bin out of interest.

Babyiwantabump · 12/05/2017 22:41

It's not actually red it's brown( didn't have brown on the biro) but that's for garden waste

OP posts:
StripeyCurtains · 12/05/2017 22:41

Instead of a fence why don't you just put in a chain that you can padlock. That way cars are less likely to get damaged but you have made it impossible for people to put bins there. You can even hang a sign saying private property off it to make it completely clear.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 12/05/2017 22:42

No more Mrs Nice Bins OP.

44PumpLane · 12/05/2017 22:42

I remember your original thread- it was immense!
Can't believe they're at it again though! Cheeky!!!

JaniceBattersby · 12/05/2017 22:43

So they're also driving across your land every time they drive their cars into the entry?

I'd collect the bins once they're emptied and helpfully line them up really neatly in your neighbour's garden.

Ollycat · 12/05/2017 22:44

Ok now I'm confused so...

Red = brown = garden waste
Blue = plastic??
Green = had assumed garden waste so now not sure

Realise am missing the point...

Astro55 · 12/05/2017 22:45

Do you know who's putting there? I'm assuming it's some 'helpful' neighbor?

Find out who not is and dump them in his garden - or block his car in -

Fragglez · 12/05/2017 22:47

oohhh, this is great! I've just read all your posts on the old thread so completely up to date Grin

Can you put a 'do not block access' sign up on the bin store gate? Or one of c3pu's poems, either would do!

I like the putting them on doorsteps idea, but it should be the step of the bin leaver, not the bin owner - you would have to lurk next week to see who it is and distribute the bins accordingly. if they are that worried about their neighbours bins they can keep them in their own sodding gardens!
