Why is MN so transphobic?

I really don't understand it but it makes me sad. Trans people just want to get on with their lives and are at more risk of being harmed or murdered than anyone else.

When I was little I liked playing with my sisters dolls and prams and wanting to wear pink but i was always told that was wrong, that was for girls so I was confused. Then I figured i must be a girl :/

I have had surgery and taken hormones. I'm not going to hurt anyone. i just want a bloody piss.

When I was a kid I liked wearing trousers and playing in mud.
Am I a male?

user1494271474 · 08/05/2017 21:06

"Yet you've never heard of transwomen who happily choose to keep their penises. Riley Dennis, Daniele Muscato, Alex Drummond..."

I have no idea who they are.

I just want to get on with my life.

So what if people want to make it a bit easier for us to be who we are?

Hating your body doesn't mean you are the opposite sex.

Thanks to society a lot of women hate their bodies. Doesn't make them men.

I am still waiting to hear which aspects of womanhood you identify with.

FlossyMooToo · 08/05/2017 21:07

Its quite clear what the OP wants from this thread.
I'm done.

user1494271474 · 08/05/2017 21:07

I have been assaulted for being who i am. It's not nice.

Oh love I'm so sorry. It's not okay that you were told untruths as a child. Sad

stitchglitched · 08/05/2017 21:07

Playing with dolls and prams doesn't make you a girl. That is exactly what I meant about reinforcing damaging syereotypes.

Annahibiscuits · 08/05/2017 21:07

And how have women made your life more difficult?

Ktown · 08/05/2017 21:07

There is a fair bit of confusion. If you want to mutilate your body that is terrible. But if you do it won't change your sex.
It is a sad state of affairs but as a result women are supposed to step back and be told their biology has been redefined to include males.
Trans is the best descriptive. But to take it further and call men females is daft.

treaclesoda · 08/05/2017 21:08

I can remember hating my body since I was tiny

But what has that got to do with being a transwoman? Confused

I spent my teenage years self harming because I hated my body so much. I cried myself sick when I first needed a bra as I was so disgusted with my body, I didn't want breasts. I'm in my 40s now and I still hate them.

It doesn't make me trans, it doesn't mean I wish I was a man.

These things do not make you female.

user1494271474 · 08/05/2017 21:08

FFS I didn't just have genital surgery for the fun of it!

OP posts:
QueenoftheAndals · 08/05/2017 21:08

This is either a GF or a pisstake, right? 🙄

itsbetterthanabox · 08/05/2017 21:08

Millions of women are assaulted for being who they are.
Having a female body and genitals is a huge risk for women as men commit so much sexual and violent crime against us.

treaclesoda · 08/05/2017 21:09

I have been assaulted for being who i am. It's not nice.

You do know that women get assaulted for being women? All the bloody time...

user1494271474 · 08/05/2017 21:09

But I was told it did and I was told boys shouldn't play with them. My father hit me whenever he would see me play with dolls but that's what I liked.

OP posts:
HomityBabbityPie · 08/05/2017 21:09

Well then you were abused and I'm sorry.

user1494271474 · 08/05/2017 21:10

I meant I liked the dolls. I didn't like being hit.

OP posts:
itsbetterthanabox · 08/05/2017 21:10

Then your father was an abuser I'm sorry Flowers
That doesn't make you female though.

user1494271474 · 08/05/2017 21:10

All the transwomen I've met have wanted rid of their penises ASAP.

OP posts:
PacificDogwod · 08/05/2017 21:10

Mn is not transphobic.
Being critical of current gender politics is not being transphobic.

OP, I am sorry you are not feeling welcome here - you are.
And I am sorry that you are not feeling 'welcome' to be who you are and how you are, including being allowed to like whatever the hell you like.

IMO, current strict gender divisions down to such silly things like 'pink is for girls' and 'blue is for boys' actually makes gender roles more divisive, rather than inclusive.

'Tomboys' are girls, and touchy-feely boys are still boys. Sex is a biological predetermined imperative, gender is a social construct. And people are getting awfully confused between the two.

TheHouseOfIllRepute · 08/05/2017 21:10

Were you assaulted by a man or a woman OP?

HomityBabbityPie · 08/05/2017 21:11

You are a victim of gender. Without it it would have been perfectly fine for you to play with dolls without thinking that made you a girl.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 08/05/2017 21:11

'I have been assaulted for being who i am. It's not nice.'

So have I, more than once. So have lots of women. It's not ok but it's not unique to being trans.
